These are fantastic, Rupe. Thanks for sharing!
I wanna go back to that era!!😢
*Yeah that first pic sure looks Morrisey”…. I think the rest are Steel City tho
Albrecht’s pit board messages are so telling of Stewart’s dominance. That early 00’s era pushed racing to a completely new level, almost entirely because of RC and Stewie.
RIP Steel City!
Miss that place. Raced in some snow there on sat before Easter 1 yr. 🤙

As I recall was MC’s favorite track.
Damn Ramsey’s Axo gear was insanely ugly. I do not remember it being that bad 😂
And then he went and rocked some crazy ass Acerbis gear in 04 🤣🤣🤣
Hey ML, rupdawg needs his own pit bits spot on the homepage for us. Thanks 😁😁😁
It would be cool to see a Pit Bits Throwback edition wouldn't it...
Thanks for sharing these- the poor expansion chamber on the 259, check the colour 🤣
Mam, I miss that place.
My favorite outdoor track for viewing. You could sit just about anywhere and see just about the entire track.
That would actually be pretty dang cool
Add me to list of "man I miss that place"
Thanks for sharing Rup!
We had it so good
I was there. Somewhere. Probably fighting with my girlfriend instead of watching the race lol...
Stews pitboard...
+43 😮
Great pics, thanks Rupdawg!!
Notice that Albrecht doesn't even appear to be looking at James but rather just holding our the pitboard!?! He's got a massive lead too! +43
Pit Row
That was the best looking no fear gear ever (KDub). Such a cool era with young Stew.
These are amazing. Definitely the best era of MX for me on a personal level too (20 yrs old, careless etc).
Grant won the title that day though he didn't know it at the time because Kenworthy's (another lost track) got cancelled a week later due to heavy rain... Ryan had sticking throttle problems but honestly it was the best Grant had ridden all season. Yeah James was on another level as usual but until Steel City Grant hadn't really looked anything like his sharper (lighter) 2001 form. He rode angry that day in the 2nd moto. Somewhat 'compensation' I'd imagine for his 2001 disaster at the very same track.
Never went there in person but as viewer I loved Steel City on TV.
