Could we see J Coop end up on Suzuki next year? I think depending on what happens with Anderson that could be a good possibility, also with Suzuki supposedly going to have a new RMZ next year. I do think Triumph is his most likely landing spot, but fun to speculate. HEP would probably really like a top guy that will run the full outdoor schedule too

JCoop is riding for very low pay to be on what he considers the best bike. His wife comes from money so I think his priority is on riding for the best team/bike, not the paycheck. I doubt we see him at suzuki but who knows at this point

If he wanted to continue riding for low money he wouldn't be posting weekly how hard he's pushing for a win to boost his negotiating power. I'm sure Star would continue to give him a bike if he'd agree to ride for low money.

Or he could be the first rider at Triumph.

Agree, I think he took a gamble taking a bit lower pay on a bike he knows he can put his best results in so that he can really cash in on his next deal.

Seems like its worked for him so far.

I keep seeing this repeated but I've never heard him take that stance.  Is everyone just assuming this because his wife's family is rich?  We don't know those dynamics but it seems like everyone assumes he doesn't care about money.  I'm sure NBA Jay Coop would love to be able to be self suficient with his financials and not rely on the in-laws.

Kawasaki (Isn’t Garrett on a 1 yr deal?)

Triumph

Ducati (it could happen…tho, I believe both current riders have 2 year deals…?)

KTM (aren’t all thier spots open in ‘27?)

Husky (where he almost landed previously until it got “squashed”…& don’t they have an open seats in ‘27?)

Yamaha (yes, they could keep him)

Suzuki (If he rides the bike and likes it, who knows?)

Beta (Just wondering if they’d go that deep “Budget-wise”?)

The only place I don’t see possibilities for him is at Honda…that’s assuming Jett’s back soon and all is well.

Also, the assumption that he’s not getting paid much might simply be based in the likelihood that he accepted an offer that wasn’t the highest…but…has a helluva bonus clause and is on a bike/team he believes in. Besides all that…he’s got his gear deals and he’s finding a new peak & riding pretty damn well while others aren’t.

One could argue the bike that won the last two races is the best bike 🤷‍♂️

I could see Jcoop being 2nd seat at Kawi to replace Marchbanks or be the top guy at Triumph since old Star Yamaha team manager Jeremy Coker is there now. As far as HEP Suzuki I could see AP7 going there if KTM doesn’t resign him

Would love to see Triumph develop the bike around him. Lots of potential there.

He’s done so well at Yamaha, it would be a shame to mess with the formula.

Pretty sure he won’t go to Suzuki. It’s a dead end team. Roczen has made it work, but it’s the last step before retirement for most riders. Kawi is becoming like that.

Dude hit the lotto. He’s riding well at the moment. He’d be a good fit for kawi, seems like a grafter who would make the bike work.

Triumph need him as I don’t think they’re results have been any good. Triumph in the GP’S are a great story US Triumph not so great.

JCoop is fast in both disciplines and reliable. Something Triumph don’t have.

Ducati should have positioned themselves to make a run at him.

Isn't there a possibility that the Suzuki team may be a full-fledged factory effort in '27?  I've yet to see a top-10 guy not look comfortable on that bike, dating back to RC.

Hep isn’t doing outdoors and I always figured with him being better outdoors(debatable maybe), that he would want to not go sx only.

HEP is absolutely doing outdoors, not sure where you heard that, not with Ken and Anderson, Colt and they were looking for a guy to run outdoors for them

Maybe he's the big name guy asking around about MXGP deal?

This may sound silly but if you are Star, isn't JCoop a better investment at this point than Webb, as a number 2 rider? JCoop is healthy all the time, races well in both series, puts up solid results to rep the bike/team every week. That's essentially everything you want in your 2nd rider. I think he's clearly capable of a win too. I love Webb but he has struggled this year, pretty much admits that his career is winding down and really doesn't want to do a full schedule after this year (I thought?) So to me, I would think JCoop would be the perfect guy to be HD's teammate for the next year or 2. Of course, maybe JCoop wants a change of scenery or doesn't want to be in that spot at Star, but it seems like he is very content staying on that team, up until this point. I can't think of a better number 2 rider to have, aside from maybe Hunter.

I thought Dylan hated that series and never wanted to go back? If he did want to go back, I’d think Ducati would want to slide him over, Dylan would do better than the 3 guys they have in MXGP right now.

After they missed on a few outdoor only guys they made the decision a few months back(when I first heard this somewhere probably pulp). Pulp had mentioned it several times since as you mentioned.

Bit of a sidetrack, but it must be so weird to be Hunter right now. He would be the #1 guy on literally every other team but since his brother exists…he is a #2 guy. Certainly a yay boo situation.

Absolutely. He's improved quite a bit each year. Very solid. Those 2 and that team just seem to work so well together. It's tough to beat.

I don’t get the feeling they rate the riders at HRC.
Both are champions. Both have their strengths.

Jet has had some sensational results - perfect MX season!

Hunter may well be this years SX champion. And has been consistently improving.

Seems to be a great team environment. And having two brothers as champion teammates is very rare. But looks to be working well.

“Snap” ^
