WTH is going on with Eli? You don't go from being the fastest guy the first 8-9 rounds, winning 4 races and then just drop off the pace this far without something being wrong. This is where our sport sucks. You will never hear the why. No way he just lost his speed and desire lol. This is going to suck if Hunter just runs away with this championship. Sure would be great to know what the F he is struggling with.
A 1/16 psi boot to the rear shocks should help with the hold up out of corners on this track and dirt. That’s all he needs.
This is not a bike issue. He's been the fastest guy on the track the first 9 rounds on all types of dirt. I don't think they are all of the sudden unable to get the bike to corner. He looks like shit
Ever hear of the Eli slump, happens nearly every year, it almost is a trademark.
I was reluctant to start a thread but I'm sitting here asking myself the same question. The intensity isn't there for sure. He's uncomfortable with something. Could be the bike. Could be something completely unrelated.

I’m catching up to the live stream and this was my first thought as well while watching his heat race. They are the worst when it comes to being transparent about injuries so it really does seem like it could be a possibility.
He’s seemed off all day but maybe he’ll come out in the main and crush it and make us all look like idiots for second guessing him.
You can tell by body positioning. Hes hurting.

Careful, you might offend some who expect him to be bulletproof forever. Yeah he can still go as fast as anyone but a sx season wears down a guy his age
I thought it looked like he was riding further back on the bike than he normally does and wondered if there is an undisclosed injury.
This is what I noticed too. I mean, some of you guys think he went from being the fastest guy on the track to age catching up with him while he had all the momentum?
He just aged in 2 weeks that much?
Could be struggling with east coast dirt, bike set up, injury, arm pump 🤷🏼♂️

Had to have tweaked a knee/ ankle during the week. Even with a bad race from 96 Tomac may have something going on he can't overcome for the championship overall. Hopefully the race analyst will ask the question... though he prob won't answer. Big fan here major disappointment.

Yes! Got a gift and still couldn't suck it up enough to stay in front of Coop or Stewart. He needs to heal quickly
But at least we have a championship fight again

He's half my age, but it happens.
It's a long season, cumulative effects. I didn't make this up, you get older you don't recover as fast. Perhaps if he takes it easy he might be spunky in a race or two who knows. It's a hard ask for young guys to run the pace all season, let alone someone his age. He's got kids at home, who knows maybe he got a cold from one of them.
You aged like milk and now you pretend everyone else does also.
He doesn't look hurt but no way he is just getting beat by Stewart, Coop, etc all of the sudden. Hopefully he gets healthy and gets the spunk back. This championship is his to lose again.
