So naive - and that's not a slight against him, but it just ties into the whole thing of him thinking he's some financial guru guy making big moves for the sport.

Jett's stumbling around the Met Gala thinking he's making SX/MX F1 - without one bit of the foresight to realize that SX/MX fans don't want it to be F1, they want beer cans on the sides of helmets, a heel draped in a flag taunting his competition, orange jail jumpsuit gear sets and funny merch drops.

I don’t think what you want speaks for everyone else, you had a fair point but I appreciate the higher end looks potentially coming into our sport, those come with prestige and prestige theoretically means better conditions and amenities for riders and fans. Comparing Deegan to the kid who knows how to invest and make money is downright inaccurate, take a look at his Snapchat, he’s allowed to do whatever he wants but he comes off as much more immature with his bank account

I don't see him quitting.  It wouldn't shocked me if he landed on the podium very, very early in the season.  The question might be, "How far back?  12 seconds or 47 seconds?".  He is a rare talent for sure. 

I'm not a Deegan fan...a bit too WWF for me.

I'm not speaking for what you want. I'm observing the vast majority of the people at an outdoor national, looking at the rider autograph lines, looking at the merch on people's backs - the money in the sport. It's not the tuxedo set - but they aren't excluded. Rolls Royce isn't lining up to sponsor the series any time soon. The Deegans CLEARLY get the audience. 

Also I wasn't comparing HD to "a kid who knows how to invest and make money" - I was literally stating exactly what he did with his first W and Championship bonuses. Bought rental houses, before buying a very reasonable R8. This from a kid with a hundred paths to make money after the sport. 

It might really hurt some peoples feelings to realize the Deegans are media saavy, business saavy, financially saavy - and good at their chosen craft, but here we are. 

Going to be a long ride for some of you.

Maybe I missed it but what’s the time stamp of Jett saying he wants better sponsors than Haiden? I remember them talking about dream sponsorships but didn’t think they mentioned Deegan at all during that convo.

I'm way more interested in the bike in your avatar than I am the person in your quote. Very nice 87 Honda CR.  Having said it should be an interesting 450 championship.  

But with both Lawrence's back it's gonna be a long, hot summer for 98% of the rest of the field, which means the 450 racing will probably be boooring.

I would bet the Deegans do what Brian suggests or advises. I doubt Haiden got his first bonus check and said “hey let’s invest this in a rental property” without input from Brian. Nothing wrong with that. With the world of social media we only see what we’re shown. If the Lawrence’s don’t talk about what they invest in it doesn’t mean they’re not investing. I doubt their father would let them blow their money the same way Brian Deegan won’t let his kids do the same.

That’s absurd. The class this season will be far more stacked so expectations of an undefeated season for any of the riders is unreasonable.
