Plessinger

I really like Aaron, he’s a good dude. He’s had a rough couple races and looks like he could be injured again. I read a comment on the Vital IG page that he was fined for taking his boot off on the track, but couldn’t find anything on it.

If this is true, AMA really jumped the shark this week. The Deegan incident was lame to penalize him for, in my opinion and I still haven’t seen the Marchbanks incident that cost him a position either. Seems like they are pretty inconsistent in their penalties.

Back to Plessinger…. I hope he’s just banged up, the races are better with him in them.

Taking his boot off was odd but his walking / limping away the way he was holding his arm looked like a possible injury to.

I think someone was joking when they said that. No way they penalize an injured rider for taking a boot off. Although with the way AMA is/isn’t going by the letter of the law in the rule book nothing would shock me at this point.

Aaron Plessinger: “I was planning on Birmingham being a good day. Practice went decent and the track was wild – dry and wet at the same time, if you can imagine that! It was just a wild track altogether, but I qualified ninth and then had a really good Heat Race in battling with Jorge and felt good. I got a good start in the Main Event, rode a little tight at first, and then started to loosen up as the race went on. Then I hit a rock on the face of a jump, and I felt the rear-end start to rise, which is when I knew I wasn’t going to make the triple. I tried to ditch the bike, but it was too late, and the bars hit my knees. After that it was a bit of a blur – I think I did a flip or two and, when I landed, I heard something really crunch so that was the end of my night. I went to the Medical Unit, they checked me out, and I am in one piece, but I am just sore and bummed out. I felt like we made a lot of good progress in the break, but I just have to keep grinding to get to where we need to be.”

He took his boot off in Daytona a few years back on Yamaha when he broke his heel.

It’s what he does when he believes he has a lower leg injury

I thought maybe he hurt his knee and the weight of the boot was pulling on it.

Probably had a snake in his boot.

Probably trying to get ahead of the swelling would be my guess.

Leaving it on would help with the swelling

If you know it's hurt and you're finished, getting the boot off immediately is going to be less painful than waiting until there is a lot more pressure

You never took your boot off to see if your toes were still attached, or rolling around loose in your boot?  C'mon!

Maybe he wants it off before it swells and really hurts to take it off.

Getting the boot off while the adrenaline is masking the pain would be my guess.
