For anyone looking, I live in South eastern Ohio and found a nice little gem pop up on marketplace. For anyone in the market for a trailer:
Very nice find. Too many of them are heavily molested.
Thanks for posting.
That's got @Rupert X name all over it.
Actually, it’s got my buddy Corey “Sleepy Pants” Mays name, literally on it….

Nice find. Those are still great trailers today. It’s amazing how well some of them have aged.

Of all the things I've sold, the thing I wish I would have kept is the Hi-Point trailer.
Above are my two. The top one John Penton delivered to us in Maryland in 93. Raced out of. It for many years, and still do use it occasionally. The second was I picked up a couple years ago, it was used for a snowmobile trailer. If only it was a high roof too!!!
Only thing better than a HIpoint trailer back in the day was a box truck. We had a few Hipoint trailers, nothing like the smell of fresh fiberglass and gel coat.
Put down a bunch of glass with a chopper gun, sprayed a ton of gelcoat. That styrene smell is some potent shit that can put a man down real quick.......
What’s good about these trailers ? It looks nice what else
How much does one weigh?
They were light weight, very roomy and towed easy. Pulled mine with a 2.8 S-10 for years.
They were made by the Penton family, Penton motorcycles. Available with under trailer water tanks for pressure washing bikes, toolbox access through the side, work bench, Awnings, tall roof, low roof, walk on roof etc... Purpose built for motorcycle racing. They also have torsion axles, rode very well.
I have wanted one of these for years. Not a terrible drive from Illinois. I wonder what the wife would say? lol
My D7 brother ….. I have probably seen it at Antietam, Budd’s Creek, Trailways, White Oak or Aquasco.
Thanks everyone for the stories and information. Glad I found it and could share it. Hopefully someone here pics it up. I still ride, but have enclosed trailers as it is. But don't ride enough anymore to dedicate a trailer just to riding. But I saw it and Definitely appreciated it.
If you go to 1115 Milan Ave in Amherst today you will see the KTM USA parts warehouse.
Here's mine, Wife says if I spend anymore money on it I will be living in it. 😁 But I love my trailer.
Pit Row
This is the 86 , mine is a 89 and the big difference is the side skirt between the wheels that would get ripped off if you had a tire come apart while driving and the curb weight for the trailer was 940lbs which is lighter than you would think it would be.
So baddass!
I know where there is one sitting in someone’s overgrown back yard. Often wonder about pulling in inquiring if they would part with it. It would need some restoration work.
I would certainly stop and ask.
Perhaps I will. I rolled up on it while on my adventure bike last year. Marked the GPS location. I think the back ramp door was gone. Of course the goats will need a new place if they part with it.

That's how I got mine. It had been sitting on the side of a business in Ponca city and I would go to Ponca a couple times a year to visit family and friends and every time I would drive by I would tell myself to go ask if it for sale so after about doing this for 7 years I finally went in and asked and she said 2k so I said sold. She also said she had several people ask about it but they all thought 2k was too much but they didn't know what it was or anything about moto so their loss was my gain. So go ask because you might get a deal you cant refuse. I have really enjoyed working on mine and when I bought it all I did was air up the tires and grease the wheel bearing and fix the lights and pulled it the 600 miles back to Colorado and it pulled great. Weight is listed at only 940lbs for the model I have with the walk on raised roof. This is when i picked it up and a good washing made it look really nice and then replaced the damaged roof rails and vent and moldings.
940 is the listed weight. Had to get a title to mine in Colorado because Oklahoma you dont have to plate a private trailer this size. Colorado wanted me to get a weight from a weigh station for trailers over 2000 lbs but when I took the brochure to the Highway patrol for the vin inspection and showed the curb weight they told me no need and the brochure was good enough.
I didn't tell mine, I just showed up back home from my Ponca trip with it attached to my hitch, she just roller her eyes. Check mate I win. 😁But in her defense, she knew I had been interested in it and wanting to ask if it was for sale for several years and she did encouraged me to go ask.
Yep the high roof is awesome, no bending over and lots of room. I have hit my forehead at the front right below where the roof slope is but that's because some days im just stupid. 😁
FYI - I put my Hi-Point for sale also - $2800 in Kansas City - MO .... it's in the For Sale Section
i'd buy it today if it was within a 6 hour drive!
