His start last night was plenty good enough to win. It was his own mistakes that kept him from the victory. I want to like Cole, but the weird antisocial cockiness and the way he left GasGas hanging after all they did for him, it leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. He is a teenager, though.

I’d like to see a receipt of this “pass” that was given to Deegs lmao

By irrelevant do you mean injured all summer? He came back for two Nationals and won a moto. Did you think you weren't hearing about him all summer because his results were poor? 😂

He was out injured nearly all outdoors after getting landed on. Came back and won his 1st moto @ budds, basically off the couch.

Its all anyone has said about Deegan his entire career. "He's just a teenager, hopefully he matures."

Deegs wasn’t lighting the SX world on fire u til this year, definitely excelled outdoors. Couldn’t Davies just be the opposite of him, showing skills in SX and needing some growing outdoors? And as mentioned he did win a moto his rookie year after coming off the couch. Hope the kid can stay humble and healthy and continue with his trajectory

It's worked out awesome.  2 outdoor 250 National Titles, working on his 2nd regional title (in dominating fashion), and a bunch of wins.

Won by default because Deegan and Jo were penalized.  Still, a third is impressive but the opening poster saying Davies is the one rider he thinks can challenge Jett is a bit over hyped to say the least. Let the kid have a career first.

Dang, I need to get roasted over that one. I forgot that he was injured towards the end of SX??

I'll eat up all of the crow.🤦‍♂️

You got a better chance the MK Ultra documents being fully declassified than of seeing receipts for a pass given to Haiden.

Deegan fans will have to make a choice come SX in a few years.. Team Jett or Team Davies.

They can spend all SX season discussing how their "GOAT" is an Outdoor specialist.

Hopefully it doesn't become reminiscent of Deegan's second season in SX. All the preseason hype and talk from fans, industry and media was that it was his title to lose before the first gate has dropped. When it didn't go as "planned" or as expected, he threw fits, flipped people off, stomped off to the trucks to confront riders etc etc.

Davies has had eerily similar hype and expectations preseason and similarly, first couple of races hasn't met those expectations. From watching the gypsy 100 hours video and Cole's latest YouTube, it seems he's often left to his own devices as his mum isn't always there, dad and remaining family still in NZ and everyone else is quite young and immature. He needs a steady hand and structure to keep him focused and not putting the horse before the cart.

He has the talent, ability, heart and drive to become great, don't fuck it up this early thinking you're shit doesn't stink and ostracize yourself like a certain team mate

Kid got a little big headed and needs to get a title before talking like this.    I don't have a issue with cocky riders but you have to earn that shit and so far he isn't qualifying fastest, isn't winning all his heats and no main wins.  Now it's only round 2  and I'm sure he will win a few if he figures out the starts.     Even if he doesn't win the title this year its not a big deal, Jett and haiden didn't get theirs until year 3 and it took hunter what, 5 years?

I'm not a fan of the cocky attitude.  It's much easier to root for Pierce, Jo, and Seth.  Those guys are all very likeable.

Its a good thing social media didn't exist in the 90's -2000's.  Interviews were all about the sponsor lineup and that's about it.   RC had no issue saying all kinds of shit from his 125 days , on.  Most of the top guys did.

The kid is fast but seems to make dumb mistakes…it was his fault when he got landed on and the first turn pileup was 100% on him not letting off when he should have. Hopefully he can get that part straightened out and learns from his mistakes.

Yes. To me he looks like he’s under a ton of pressure but then tries to play it cool when he’s off the bike. This is exactly the reason why I picked Seth for the title this year, Davies has higher end speed but Seth is fast and can maintain composure when the pressure is on.

wheres the 10page thread on how cole davies can only get on the podium by taking out his own teammates(caden dudney).  Or do we only apply that scrutiny to certain star riders😂

Meh, the kid key word here is young and wants to win. Maturity comes with experience, kinda reminds me of Reedy.

Yeah, dude sounds pissed that he has to be there and others can beat him.

One questionable comment and most of you are writing Davies off?! Geez talk about double standards…..
I’ll wait to see if this is the new Col, or whether it was just part of his current inner dialogue to build confidence, that came across bad.

Seems a lot more serious this year? I'd say the opposite tbh, he seems insanely confident and a little arrogant tbh. Noticed this the first second Weege interviewed him at the first round. A lot different then he acted last year, where he was really humble.

It is clear he has high expectations of himself. For those downvoting on “arrogance” I would say not even close. Consistently acting like you are above everyone is one thing, wanting to win, believing/knowing you can is very different. Man the swings of a title would make y’all’s head spin lol. Keep it together

They can spend all SX season discussing how their "GOAT" is an Outdoor specialist.

So the guy with 2 250 Outdoor titles, and likely 2 250 regional titles (every title so far won before the last race) is written off, and you're elevating the guy with 2 regional sx wins to Jett-type status?

Before elevating Cole up there with Jett, maybe see if he can beat Hammaker first.

I love Davies and his riding ability. Perhaps he’s the only one out of the young guys who can really give Jett a run for his money. He still has a lot to prove tho. His demeanor has changed quite a bit. He’s much more serious compared to last year, which is cool, but those comments in the post race press conference kind of worried me a little.

When he said, “I dont feel like anyone can touch me” and “I just need to figure out the starts and I will be away,” it definitely raised an eyebrow. That’s a bit early to say, huh? 😅 Even if he believes it, and maybe it’s true, that’s not the best way to put it imo. In other words, I just hope he doesnt go down the Deegan dick route.. but I think he’s smart enough not to. He’s still young, so maybe he just got a little carried away.

Its the team he is on. He is young and impressionable. I think the team wants him to be this way.

He still rings riders he grew up with and would lap. No ego . I don't think this is who he is
