I watched ABC's Wide World of Sports for the 1982 Carlsbad USGP. It was shit with announces who didn't know their fucking ass from a hole in the ground. Today's broadcast are light years better, on giant HD big screens with stereo sound. You can watch every event at your leisure as many times as you want. You can pause, rewind, fast forward, and you have outstanding commentary with Jason Weigandt and the rest of the team. But if it's not absolutely fucking perfect than it's, "the grainy once a year shit from ABC's Wide World of Sports was MILES better." Clown show.🤡.

Exactly!!!! On point for sure. The former riders and players of ALOT of sports are just not good on the microphone. They are good for maybe a guest mc at one race...but not to do the entire season. RC is a PRIME example. Couple of mistakes...no big deal...but it has gotten way out of hand. It's cringe worthy now.

My grandson has started riding and is of course a fan of the sport. He has found this forum along with other internet fodder and told me that he found it weird that so much emphasis was put on broadcasting and what riders say or don't say in interviews. He is 13 years old.
It's way more concerning for me that no one in production knows how to pronounce Koch. It's NBC/PeaCOCK! for Pete's sake.

I've hated on RC plenty and still thinks he sucks...
But, Bondo is worse than ever and a bigger distraction to me this year. Watching a non-battle for 7th with 1st and 2nd .9 seconds apart is fucking infuriating. There's no time given to even analyze the differences in lines and technique for the top guys because we need to rapid fire to other shit going on, or play a long winded interview in the corner of the screen while focusing on the rider with nothing really happening.
Weege tee's RC up so well sometimes....like when he asked about why tripling onto the table was so difficult. After stumbling through it, RCs answer was basically "because it's so difficult". 🤦♂️
