The question is if it is too late for his personality to be rehabilitated? Honestly, the way his eyes look and the his overall demeanor is recorded when a camera is pointed at him really makes me think he has some sort of mood or personality disorder. I don’t think he can help it. It’s who he is. I know where I’m from (PA District 5) this kid would get his ass kicked in school regularly.
People hate on Deegan because he is a constant reminder of how inferior they are compared to him.
Jealousy is just plain ole pure mean and ugly.
Most of last nights racing was fun to watch and good racing.
Deegan slowed up and let Kitchen by and then tried a few takeout attempts, same plan he had when Jo was faster and able to beat him at SMX. Kitchen was faster last night so that was Deegan’s way to try to win, and he did win. Outside of that it was really fun to watch.
Deegan riding like a goober some, and the after race antics of the fingers waving and waiting on Kitchen to talk smack to him (Kitchen showed how to behave correctly) are what make people dislike him. If he could clean up the antics and just race forward people wouldn’t hate on him so much, but he does it all consistently.
That’s just straight up not what it was at all. When has Deegan EVER checked up to learn someone else’s lines? He knows exactly what he is doing. He sighted Kitchen as he was climbing through each lap and then let him by to take shots. You can literally watch it on the broadcast and if you don’t see it it’s because you choose to not pay attention. He even gave you his full suite of takeout moves in the show. That wasn’t some miraculous battle of the gods, that was Deegan toying with someone like cat and mouse and he’s lucky it didn’t bite him in the collarbone again. The kid is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of his class at this point that he’s willing to race backwards for your entertainment. Dumb racing I’d say.

I think that’s a wild assumption, especially when you’ve never met him or know him personally. I see a playful young man who has unbelievable talent riding a motorcycle that only his peers can fully appreciate. He sits right in the middle of being loved and hated by the MX community and couldn’t care less about the haters, plays to the villain roll perfectly , not going too far with it. I believe eventually as he grows up and his already awesome resume grows, he will be a fan favorite. He’s got that Bob Hannah/Dale Earnhardt vibe go’n on. Love him or hate him , he’s good for the sport and has certainly spiced things up the last few years.
Did Kitchen call Deegz daddy after that one? Should’ve took him out for doing that to him at his home race lol
Man that kid has gotten so deep under your skin you are blinded by what you see. Kitchen was faster, Kitchen looked way better, he reeled Deegan in and Deegan saw him coming. He knew Levi must have had some good lines that he wasn’t aware of. So he checked up to avoid Kitchen taking another championship from him (did you forget about that?) Kitchen pulled ahead and gapped him for a bit. Deegan went to school and caught back up, Then the two kids put on an absolutely amazing race for everyone to see. There was no take out moves, just some cat and mouse and a little rubbing going on. That was Deegan playing nice. Somehow, Deegan pulled off the win while looking a little inferior to Kitchen. He just got it done somehow, while looking a bit sketchy at times. It was an epic race for the ages and the amount of energy released in that crowd was equivalent to several game winning World Series grand slam walk offs, or 4th quarter Super Bowl hail Mary’s. Take off the Deegan hating glasses and watch again. Or go see a therapist to find out why you are so triggered by him.
People will see what they want to see. Enjoy your Sunday buddy.
You guys realize you don’t have to watch him race, right?
Someone was fucking hammered last night.
Just watched the 250 race again. Man what a race.
Kitchen had more pace in the beginning of the race. Looked like Deegan let him pass and learned some lines. That's what he did, reeled him back in and won the race. Pretty much perfectly executed. I don't love the whole brake checking and slowing the race down and don't think that will work well in the 450 class, but for the race yesterday it worked and there was nothing dirty about it.
Deegan is an excellent rider, but low to mid human. Brake checking is bush and I wish He would just race (yes, I know He is winning)
Sooo frickn cringey...
he should feel lucky he doesn't actually have someone fast on the west coast like Joe, Davies or juju... he's barely beating old guys that have never won an sx before...
You should be happy then, that the East coast is on deck?
I’m Pa. District 6 and older than you I would guess. We did not beat up the mentally ill. Stay on your side of the state friend!
If that is true, it is a sad way to go through life.
Yea idk man…. I don’t think that’s how it went down.
I don't want to see anything other than good racing. I would much rather watch an epic game of cat and mouse that has the whole stadium roaring on their feet versus the last 4 snoozers where Deegan pulled out front and gapped the field. Wouldn't you guys who hate Deegan rather see some action that potentially takes him down so you can cheer? Or, do you want to see him yank the field so we all can watch a boring boat race?
I mean, imagine if the cat and mouse would've let Anstie catch up to join the fun, and then Anstie takes down Deegan as a payback. All the haters here would be celebrating like they won the lottery similar to when he broke his collar bone. It seems like you guys have more of a chance to get your wish of him going down if he's battling someone instead of being 5 seconds out front managing the gap.
It sure is nice to be able to just sit back and enjoy the racing, no matter who wins. Imagine being inside their helmets and feeling the roar of 60k people every time a pass was made. Adrenaline rush of their lives.
Pit Row
Psssst…and this is NOT a jab…it’s a talking point…or talking points…that will come across as a jab…or 2…or 3…
Ever notice that…for all the hate…and all the whining and bitching…it sure seems to me that…well…
There sure are a lot of Deegan threads. Aren’t there?
Meanwhile, those that seem to “not get it” the most…are expounding their wisdom on how the guys that’s…
Winning all those races
Has the longest gear contract in the paddock (and highest paying…?).
Has what appears to be a “450” contract…to ride 250s.
The hugest following…yup…pretty sure he’s on top.
All the angry geniuses of the Interwebsthingy are expounding that he should change…and…or…how he should change…?
Damn. That’s jus’ funny.
Some of the stuff these people say about his family, the implied knowledge of what he thinks or what he’s about…? That has a wide range varying from sheer ignorance to outright “insulting to anyone who reads it”.
But, I digress.
Like you, I enjoy watching him race. Hell, I’ve enjoyed watching his dad race…from ghost-riding his RM (Cringed as I watched Roger’s face change…) at the L.A. Coliseum to racing rally at COTA in the X-Games…and, let’s get this straight…the dude loves his kids and has spent his time raising them…which is nice…to me. Seen it…witnessed it myself over the years.
But, hey, no worries. There’s reality and then there’s the geniuses on the Interwebsthingy.
Great thread. It shows the dark blue under-belly of our community…and all that.
Let’s get together and have a “Moto-Dudes Ride” out at the canyon before it’s all covered in panels and windmills.
Manny
Yes, and meanwhile he just tied the record for 5 in a row last night when he didn't have to push on a very gnarly track. Just shows you the kids loves to race and wants more than anything to win. Put on a great show for all.
Nice post Greenie! Golf Clap to you Sir….💯👏
You mean all the guys he dog walked last year?
Well, we’ll be able to revisit his point after Birmingham, St Louis and SLC. 🤣
No body dog walked Davies…. He did teach him a thing or two about leaving the inside open though, team mate or not.
I’m gonna have to agree with my Kiwi-bro…
And, I hope Cole brings it…again. It’s simple: I want great racing. 💪🏼
(This is where someone usually, intentionally & knowingly, tries to piss off the Kiwis by calling Cole an Aussie) 🤣
Deegan’s antics seem empty since he’s still on the JV team. The Hannah comparisons also lack validity as Bob was racing, and beating, the best in the business.
this. I'm sick of this board. 99% pussies in here.
Damn, did you really post that?🤣
“Deegan’s antics seem empty since he’s still on the JV team. The Hannah comparisons also lack validity as Bob was racing, and beating, the best in the business.”
Psssst…Bob came to fame on a 125.
And…after that he attacked all 3 National Classes AND SUPERCROSS…ALL…AT ONCE. Some of us were there, thus…we don’t say such silly things.
I’m jus’ sayin’…
FOR HANNAH, THE 1976 VICTORY WAS MORE THAN JUST A TROPHY FOR HIS MANTLE: IT WAS CLASS WARFARE. HANNAH VIEWED THE WORLD AS A BATTLE BETWEEN THE HAVES AND THE HAVE-NOTS.
In 1977, Hannah wasn’t a veteran of the National circuit. He had pocketed only one complete season in 1976 (and two exploratory 125 Nationals in 1975). But, his star had risen quickly, built on the ashes of the former boy wonder of the 125 class, Marty Smith. In 1976, Hannah had focused his fury on Smith in the way that a cat paws at catnip. The Hurricane, as Hannah was nicknamed, had won five of eight 125 Nationals in 1976 to take the title by 87 points over San Diego surfer Marty Smith, the 1974 and 1975 Champion. For Hannah, the 1976 victory was more than just a trophy for his mantle: it was class warfare. Bob saw Marty Smith as the squeaky clean, middle-class teen idol and himself as the scruffy, working-class desert rat. Hannah viewed the world as a battle between the haves and the have-nots.
For the 1977 season, it is often said that Hannah had bitten off more than he could chew. Instead of the Hurricane just trying to back up his 1976 AMA 125 National Championship, Yamaha had him contesting all four title chases. Hannah split his time between the 125 Nationals, 250 Nationals, 500 Nationals and 250 Supercross series. Believe it or not, if it hadn’t been for scheduling conflicts, Hannah might well have pulled off the quadruple. In the end, the AMA feared a Hannah sweep of every Championship so much that they stopped holding single-class Nationals — choosing to hold them on different tracks . It was a blatant anti-Hannah move by the AMA, but perhaps the greatest compliment that a sanctioning body could pay a rider.
In the 1977 250 Supercross Championship, Bob won six of ten events and clinched the title in late November at Anaheim Stadium. In the 1977 AMA 250 National Championships, Tony DiStefano won his third straight 250 title, but Hannah did manage to win the Herman, Nebraska, round (and finish seventh overall in the standings). In the 1977 AMA 500 National Championships, Hannah won the Charlotte, North Carolina, round and finished second overall behind archenemy Marty Smith for the title.
Bob had set out to race ten Supercrosses, seven 250 Nationals, six 500 Nationals and six 125 Nationals in a single year. There was only one date conflict (Hangtown was a combined 125/250 National), but all the rest of the races were single displacement Nationals with support classes. Eventually, the stress of trying to win all the classes was brought to a halt by the reality of the enormity of the task at hand. And while Hannah did manage to pull off winning a 125, 250 and 500 National, plus a 250 Supercross in the same season, Team Yamaha finally chose to have Bob focus on the 125 chase for 1977. And what a 125 National Championship series it turned out to be. There were three distinct battle plans at work during the 1977 series — each manned by riders who would go on to greater things in the coming years.
Jason Laurence was the same way bob hannah was the same way and deegen having been raised by the general of the metal mulisha what did you expect...attitude like that puts his name in people's mouths .he's following in his dad's footsteps...outside of racing apparently deegan is a great kid. He flew chance hymas across the country for surgery after he crashed . Can't be that much of an asshole if he's doing things like that
