Im planning to travel from Germany next year, so it would be a big trip anyway. Let’s say distance doesn’t matter, Im curious which round would you pick and why? Atmosphere, location etc? So far, I think Glendale would be the best because of that massive stadium, Ive also heard there is plenty to do around that state farm stadium, basically has its own little city, but I have no clue about the surroundings of any of the locations honestly lol
Anaheim 1 or Daytona
Glendale is a good one too
A1 for sure.
Edit: Daytona would definitely be on the short list because of all the action happening for Bike Week.
I”d typically say A1 but would hate for you to make the trip over and it turns out a mudder. Dallas and Houston are always fun and tracks are good.

If I were traveling that far, an indoor stadium would weigh heavily on my decision. At least you know you’ll get a dry race.
Daytona. It's bike week, which is actually more than a week. Pretty much every kind of motorcycle. Supercross, road racing, flat track, cross country, Harleys.
A1 or Daytona
A1, no question.
Daytona for sure as there's so much 2 wheeled racing, sx, off road, speedway, road racing!!
Daytona
A1. So much hype and the field isn't injured yet. As the series goes on the racers get tired and less stoked also...
Dallas or Glendale if you like modern comfortable stadiums and usually nice tracks. Both are decent cities good vibes
Came here to post this, I’ve been to numerous A1’s but never Daytona
I'm Trying to Not Take a last minute trip to Daytona.
This year, an old Mates son, Beau Beaton, is racing in the Super Hooligans class on the Irving Vincent - well, one of them. They - Barry and Ken Horner, who Make the Irving VIncents - won the Twins class in Daytona in 2008(?) , and, are going back to have another go. The bloke that won that race for them, Craig McMartin, is Crew Chief for this effort.
A recent AMCN article about it all :
https://amcn.com.au/editorial/super-hooligans-2026-irving-vincent/
I'd get to see them, hopefully doing well again, and, get in the SX and the rest of what has been described as "The World Biggest Club (Road) Race", by many, over many years.
I went to Eastern Creek /Sydney Motorsports Park for their shake down of the SH bike, just before Christmas. They / Beau did pretty bloody well, against a fair few Superbikes. He's a Big Bloke, and, without a fairing, well, he;s quite the Wind Sock, and, he presented a great target for slipstreaming. I've a few pictures on my phone from that, but I've just put up some AMCN ones from the article.
Irving Vincents / Austarts ( the Horners Engineering Company - they have a production facility for their Mining Equipment in the USA, as well as OZ - are very successful men ) Showroom / Collection pic of one of the 2 bikes they are taking - this one a 1600cc 2 valver - they make a variety of capacities, and 2 and 4 valvers :
Beau with one of their regular bikes - I think it's a 'Period Class' bike, hence the conventional forks, they've got some very much more modern equipped bikes. Beau's ridden for them for quite a few years now:
Just a few of their Irving Vincents in their Factory Showroom :
The Horners are, apparently, continually pestered by cashed up individuals, to make a bike for them, but, they have No Need or desire to do so. Austart is what they make money from.
They also have a Brabham ( or two) FI car(s) - not sure if they are originals, or, ones They made. Phil Irving, the Australian engineer that was a Major part of the Vincent V Twins, was also ( a largely unsung / removed from the 'story') one of Big players in the Brabhams - Jack Brabham really f**ked over some people with his claiming to be the near sole creator of his FI cars.
Oh well, I've hijacked this, but as I wrote, I'm battling to Not partially, well, substantially, empty my "Magic Drawer" that I keep spare cash in, and going to Daytona this year. I've got a few too may demands on that slush fund, at the moment.
That is a gorgeous motorcycle. Do they design and build the motor in house? Surely that's the only air cooled bike on the grid?
That class is no joke. I think Rispoli won it last year and he's legit.
Good luck to the team. I'll keep an eye out for them (on tv, won't be there).
I’ve been to them all, and there is nothing that beats the excitement of A-1. If you’re into all things motorcycling, Daytona Bike Week will let you see it all. As a standalone event, though, Daytona SX is far from my favorite. The track is really long, so no matter where you sit, viewing is mediocre at best (and I’ve watched trackside as well as the Rolex Club suites). Indy is nice from the standpoint of having lots of hotels, restaurants, and bars within walking distance of the stadium. It would be a cheap Uber from the airport, and lots of monuments and museums within walking distance of the stadium. Plus, it is covered, so you won’t be freezing and miserable like the poor spectators at Seattle last night. If I was flying into town for a race outside of SoCal, I would pick a covered stadium. I’ve been to Phoenix at Bank One when it was downtown, and that was really cool, but I haven’t been to State Farm. Coming from Germany in the winter, I’m sure you would appreciate the Arizona winters!
A1. Not even a question. The hype/excitement far out weigh any kind of weather conditions you may encounter. Dress accordingly and you’ll be fine. I went to A1 2005, which was a quagmire, but the racing was crazy good… and unpredictable. One of my best SX experiences in the 45 years I’ve been attending Supercross races.
I was there, too. Blows my mind to think that was over 20 years ago!
Pit Row
Been there. I live on the East coast in KY and in 2005 I went to A1 and we all know how that turned out so I didn't truly get the A1 experience . I wanna go again one day.
Indy is the closest race to me so ive been a gazillion times . Its usually a great race especially if you like ruts and chaos .
I'm not 100% sure, but they make the Engines - They can make / have made, pretty much Everything. Certainly, the base design is of the Vincent template. To me, one of the most Beautiful MC Engines ever made.
Though, the Vincent fraternity has been so well organized over the years, to keep the old bikes going, so, perhaps something of the 'originals' is used.
But, the Irving Vincents are 160 / 180+ HP bikes, not the 55 / 60HP of the originals And, they have made many, many variations.
If you read the article, the other AC bike competing is Keanu Reeves ARCH Motorcycles bike. They had one in last years event. But from the description in that article, the one this year, may well be a marked change / improvement, being made by Suter . It's a bit of a 1950cc Monster, it sounds like.
In the article, they make mention of the event they may attend at Barber Motorsports, in around 2 months time.
If it were just a 2 weeks gap between the events, well, I'd be going to Daytona, thence Barber, as I so want to go to Barber - the Museum, from what I've seen is mind boggling, Cripes, they are making their own , Modern version of the Ducati Supermono!
If those 2 events were back to back, I'd postpone the building of a Ducati I've finally got around to (hell, that's been left aside for more than a few decades now, an extra year won't hurt it), and hold off on the Pinion MGU12 ($$$$$$) DH bike I want to make this year. My knees, well, Everything - need a bit of help, nowadays.
As it is, I'll be paying for the Stream they mentioned in the Article.
Post a reply to: If you had to choose one SX round to attend in person, which one would it be?
