Apparently, crack cocaine has found it's way to Great Britain. Mackenzie would have a had time even qualifying for a 450 main.

I don't think a 6 lap race in Australia indicates how he would fair in the US with the best SX riders in the world, but I could be wrong.

Hansen is a Supercross specialist right?

Personally I don't think Billy Mackenzie has enough SX experience to warrant such a high profile slot, but you have to give him some credit for his results in Australia, maybe he's a natural?

Ok, he was trading wins with Hansen (many of whom on here reckon he's due a lites title in '11) along with US based ausies Marmont, Reardon and Moss.

What makes them more credible and deserving of an AMA ride than 211?

No offence meant to the Australian's, but if they can make a US main and get on US teams then why the fuck can't our Bill?

If Monster is fitting the bill who would they rather see on a bike ?

Another American rider, who is not going to bring anymore interest to the series, as every Amercian fan will be tuning in to watch anyway OR a another rider from outside of America that could potentially bring in a lot more interest from Overseas and give their product more exposure.

Times have changed in all sport, sometimes the fastest and next most deserving talent wise rider will miss out on a better ride to someone that can bring the teams sponsors more exposure, not saying it is right, but with big outside sponsors coming on board it is the way things will continue to go.

Just think it will probably get worse, could end up like most big name motorsports in the world where the second rider / driver on the team is there because of the cash or sponsorship money they bring in, you have one average rider/driver who helps foot the bill for the fast guy with the chance to win.

Billy is a monster rider, Monster back Kawi racing world wide, Billy will bring in a lot of interest from the UK, he will hold his own no doubt, dont think he will stuggle to qualify for a main, he beat Reardon in every moto they raced each other in in Aus, Reardon I would still consider a top 15 rider at least in AMA SX, (He is back for the first 3-5 so i can be proven right or wrong on that one!)

Billy might not be the rider Americans want to see on the bike at A1 and there are probably US riders that are as deserving or more deserving of that ride, does not mean it will happen though.

Josh Hansen - Pro Circuit to Factory Kawi = Sponsor Conflict because Factory Kawi is riding FMF these days.
Aranda - Rockstar Bud Kawasaki to Factory Kawi = Sponsor Conflicts because Factory Kawi is Monster Energy these days...

Billy MacKenzie rides is a crazy MTF'ker he was hated by many loved by few because he was the Bam - Bam of the Grand Prix Series. So he got what it takes. The aggression to attack the Supercross track. He know how the flow and ...

And I think he is a free agent at the moment ... But thats something I'm not sure about.

From that video he has excellent corner speed and has a great attacking style, he will need to get a little better at making some of the combination's and whoops but very capable of making main events.

Billy is more talented than any of the other possible contenders and his resume is more impressive... GP winner in MX2 and MX1, former factory Kawi GP MX1 rider and 2x British Champion... only Hansen and CP would be better choices for a 450 supercross ride due to their SX title experiances and proven sx talent - But I think Billy has more talent than the rest of the names and would be at least as good as them in sx already.... I think he will pick it up quick although he has little time... and of all years this could be the toughest to get good results esp with a lack of preparation.

From Geoffs site :

MXlarge: What is happening in 2011?

Mackenzie: I'm staying over here ( OZ) and signed another 1 year deal with Kawasaki Australia. Monster has come on as a main sponsor, so it's officially Monster Kawasaki like pro circuit in the states and there are some really awesome things happening. The team is making a massive jump and I’m really happy to be involved with everything. I didn’t manage to win the mx this year, so I want to make sure I give it my best shot again and come away with the number 1 plate for myself and for the team. Then for supercross, with my past results, I’d like to just progress and learn more and keep having some fun.
