I mean he didn’t even try, something’s would get shot down. Some would get passed. Some would get tweaked. It’s exactly how our government was designed to work. He doesn’t want to participate in that process.
Great points, TM. And as mentioned, these issues should be the focal point. While I agree that Greenland has been on the radar, we never militarily threaten an ally. Never. That’s the domain of guys like Putin.
BTW: this isn’t about Biden or Harris. I’m a republican, and we expect better. “Whataboutisms” don’t address the issue, because they don’t exist.
The tide is turning, and after the midterms, it will accelerate. Trump’s a dot after 2028, and the RNC needs to pivot.
I personally like Massey and Rand Paul, but they are part of the republican’s problem. They hold out for perfect, and nothing is gonna be perfect. Then nothing gets done. They should help out once in a while, and let things get revised later.
The Dems almost always stick together, no matter what. They are too scared to do otherwise. Thank goodness for Mansion and Sinema, or they’d have done away with the filibuster already.
The Dem that I like the most now, and I never thought I’d say it, is Fetterman.
When you hold the senate, house, and presidency, and you still can't get laws passed, maybe the laws are the problem?
Laws being difficult to pass is a feature, not a bug. They should be difficult to pass. Politicians used to deal with it by compromising but that's no longer tolerated by the zealots in either party. They'd both rather just keep overreaching with executive orders and ignore those checks and balances. Sure, you take your lumps when the other side is in power, but you're a rich politician and just use that as fundraising fuel until you're back in power, and then you get to do whatever you want and nobody can say much about it because they did it too!

I live in Massie's district and love the guy, as far as politicians go. Don't believe the nonsense Trump is floating about him. It's very easy to predict how he'll vote because he's one of the few politicians left that votes on principle. I bet you agree with him on nearly all of those principles. He's not the problem, the rest of the party totally abandoning those principles is.
Watch "The Swamp" on HBO and I bet you come away liking Massie quite a bit.
From an outsiders perspective Massie seems like the only Republican that isn’t a sheep to trumps wishes.
I do like him. Being principled is great. But if you hold out for perfect, when you could settle for just a little less, and try to correct it later, you end up losing it all, and the the Dems get in and we end up with something infinitely worse than what you didn’t vote for.
At one time there would be moderate Dems who would cross the isle. Now there are none. The whole situation sucks.
This falls under, you can't get everything you want, so take what you can get.
So far I'm getting more than I expected. Have there been unforced errors? Sure, but that's everything in life.
As a friend I'll take LL any day, as a team manager I'd kick him to the curb and take Hayden for my top rider.
I'd like to think after the next 3 years, the results we see from this year will motivate future presidents to not remove what's in place. But realistically I know they will because 99% of them are corrupt pieces of shit.
TM
Time will tell. A majority of the country is pretty upset right now though
Trump is just as corrupt as anyone as well. The capitulation is insane.
disagree that the EO approach is take what you can get.
Using the government the way it was meant to be run is taking what you can get, compromising.
Writing a bunch of EO that reshape our economy for example is destabilizing imo.
Recognizing that the Republican Party has split may not be poplular but it’s reality. And if the party can’t even debate these differences, they are going to lose elections for a long time coming. Either way it doesn’t make us liberal. As always I appreciate the debates, it what makes our country great. The mud slinging from both sides doesn’t help, I agree.
Please explain how you'd get congress to stop the flow of $$$s to all those corrupt NGOs that turn around and fund the campaign of those you expect to stop it. I'm all ears.
TM
I’ll be totally honest I don’t know a lot about the NGO’s that lost funding. On the surface some of them sound like a net positive, but maybe not? How much money was it again? It better be in billions.
Here’s what I don’t get it. Do we want the US to be a super power or not? Because with that power comes responsibility to help those that need it. A lot of trumps policies are isolationist. But if you want the US to be a superpower you also must accept the role of looking after others.
Trump has turned the USA on the world stage into a raging hormonal teenager where nothing is ever his fault, he must get his way, but he also bears no responsibility for anything.
The majority of republicans in congress are going to need neck braces from the whiplash of trying to course correct from their support of Trump.
didn't see this till today - kentucky speaker of the house Osborne taking the mic from Massie because he didn't like what he was saying.

Massie will not be the reason dems get in. Not even close. He votes exactly how he swore an oath to vote. Not like the rest of the Republican Party that is terrified of Trump. They’re all a bunch of money hungry spineless fucks. Trump needs to dial back the bullshit. I remember seeing plenty of merch “Trump 2024 no more bullshit” yet the daily news is full of Trump bullshit. Like calling that Olympic athlete a loser, what good does that do? All Trump will be remembered for in twenty years is lying, bullshit, more bullshit, division, and extra bullshit. Just shut the fuck up and do the job.
this is all trump did in his first term, and the entire time biden was president. hell he's still trying to prove that the election was "stolen". third of the country wanted a circus which must be why they think he's doing such a great job.
I can't speak for anyone else, but in my circle of friends if you don't vote, you lose your right to complain. I guess that's a safe move though, no matter who wins and what happens you can say "I didn't vote for this" Well played. But remember 1 less vote for Harris was like 1 more vote for Trump... 😄
Well, just one example, Stacy Abrams NGO, "power forward communities" which had a total of $100 of income prior to their $2,000,000,000 government grant. Yes, you read that right $2Billion. That the Trump administration put a stop to. And that's just one NGO that the Biden admin was doling out money to. Now, consider that there were MANY corrupt NGOs.
Ask the Uncle Google about it.

Pit Row
Regardless whether one votes or not makes no difference. My taxes pay these cock suckers wages so I’ll bitch if I like.
Well you've come to the right place 😄
Pitching on Vital? Say it ain't so.
You're correct. Thing is, the reason the use of EO's is so common today is that Congress is fucking useless. They can't even write a budget! CR after CR. All they do is bitch back and forth, call each other names and wring their hands while accomplishing nothing but costing the country money.
As hated as Donald Trump is, according to Gallup, his approval rating is 36%-41%. Gallup reports Congressional approval rating is 15%. Interesting numbers, are they not?
They need to just STFU and get on with the business of governing the country. Effectively, "Shut up and dribble".
And yet among Latinos, it's up to mid 50s, close to a 20 point upward swing. Why? They approve of the immigration policy.
His approval rating wasn't my point. My point was that his approval rating is more then double that of Congress, whose job it is to write the laws, present them to the president, and if necessary, override his or her veto.
This blows my mind that it keeps getting "swept under the carpet"
If any other person, in any capacity of being representable to a country had done this, imagine the fallout? LOL.
Congress' approval rating has been in the shitter for a very long time.
It's interesting that this resolution that was just struck down in the House both tests the limits of democracy in the US and at the same time questions the Republic of the United States. It is quite a brazen move to redefine the meaning of a day in order to please dear leader.
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
This is my sentiment as well. I feel like Trump is clueless as to how much damage he does with his needless comments. He’s hurting his political agenda! I couldn’t agree with you more “ SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE AND DO YOUR JOB!”
Well said.💯👍🏻
