No one here is saying that we should all go protest and get in federal agents faces. Not a good idea, asking for trouble, Pretti unfortunately did not put himself in the best situation.
However, none of the actions he did (recording federal agent, getting between a woman who was pushed and the Agent) warranted them shooting him 10 times in the back after 9 officials had him on the ground with his firearm dismounted.
You have to look at your posts here through someone else’s lense. So far in the thread the countless amount of times you’ve responded, have ONLY been placing blame on Pretti for getting mag dumped.
No one here (at least I think) believes you are supporting this murder or justifying it. However, your comments are implying otherwise. You have not criticized or denounced the agent’s actions. You and others have exclusively been placing blame on Pretti, over, over, and over again.
Common sense would make one believe you have no issue with citizens being gunned down by authorities with no question. Again I don’t believe you feel this way. Looks like the governor had the same idea that has been suggested about a 3rd party crowd control. The MN Nat Guard was out in MN talking to protestors and handing out donuts and coffee. I think the friendly approach they are taking will be very helpful in deescalating things. Ice can ignore the protestors and the Nat Guard can provide a buffer.
Lets hope that the ICE agents and protestors can avoid any confrontations and we do not have the next headline being a confrontation between ICE and the Nat Guard. If the ICE agents are truly just there to go on targeted operations and not on patrol to grab random brown people . This should be a big help. If they are out grabbing random people like has been reported , I fear that this will only help a little and not be the fix it could be if they only did targeted arrests.
Ether way its a great move to start calming things down. There are some images of the Guard troops holding signs with the protestors. But I believe they are fake. I'm not 100% positive on that. But I think they should remain as neutral as possible while they are working in their uniforms. I think that would help things.
