You’re thinking of the safety?

if you are, in most cases…it’s like a switch that’s either on or off. On pistols like a Glock, it’s a small little lever on the trigger that must be engaged for the trigger to move.

Thumb Safety (on/off type feature) this pistol also features a “grip safety”.

A "grip safety" is what you have in mind. The Sig P320 that this individual carried DOESN'T have it. Someone whom opposed the 2nd Amendment just a few days ago will be along shortly to counter that fact with a knee-jerk reaction from a misinformed social media post they just recently viewed.

Most modern striker fired pistols don’t have what you would think of as a conventional thumb or manual safety. Some have multiple layers of safety built into their design.

The first shot being accidental discharge was what I thought this was going to end up being just based on timing of the shots. Wasn't too long ago a cop unloaded after something fell out of a tree and hit their windshield and it was mistaken for a shot being fired. Potentially speaks to lack of training or experience but will also be factored into what the guy is changed with in the end.

Just to quote a wise man @TeamGreen: "When you carry a weapon, you have specific legal responsibilities."

Maybe the ICE-agent running around with a confiscate  gun, finger on the trigger, didn't learned that in class...

Didn’t they the ice report that the confiscated gun was not fired?

Not yet, not that I'm aware of. But in the center of that crowd, there's so much noise going on. This outcome was bound to happen. Not sure where we go from here. It's being reported that this is a highly organized operation that has ties to high level state officials. However when you have people like the AZ AG saying stupid shit and expecting that people won't get killed as a result of people following her words.

"Arizona Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes said during an interview that residents could fire upon ICE agents who are masked if they feel they are in danger due to the state’s laws on self-defense.

Mayes explained that Arizona has a “Stand Your Ground” law that allows people to use lethal force if they believe their life is in danger."

Question for everyone. Minnesota currently has around 500 criminal illegal immigrants in custody who have already been ordered to be deported by a federal judge and several hundred more with order to detain pending their deportation case. Do you think leaders in Minnesota should try to improve the current situation by offering to cooperate with ICE to turn over these people? Seems like low hanging fruit to me. What's the argument against doing this?

Did you watch this press conference?

https://youtu.be/IMvJWlgtsws?si=6IXYgXNdruNgj-JS

I wouldn't be surprised at all if either or both sides were playing games with the data and spinning things to their advantage, but you also have to reconcile it with the public statements and local laws passed by liberals proudly stating their lack of cooperation with immigration enforcement. They might be arguing over the details but both sides seem to be saying the same thing about whether or not there's cooperation in the general sense. There isn't. Liberals can't be denying this at the same time they're taking pride in it.

Watch the videos. The guy that took the gun out of his holster had already ran off to the other side of the street seconds before the first shots were fired.

Every modern handgun has built in features so that they do not "accidentally" go off.  Sig had an issue with a model recently but I doubt thats what this man was carrying.  Unless he was carrying with all safetys off AND one in the chamber this is bs.  There are steps to firing a semi auto handgun. This man took the time to get his concealed carry permit.  I seriously doubt he would walk around with a pistol, safety off and a live round pointed directly at his ass.

I'm not saying it's from the gun that was confiscated. Could be, but if it were I would expect it to be much more obvious on video with the way he's holding it. Lot of agents with guns drawn, gloves, etc.... could have come from any of them. All I'm saying is there seems to be one shot then the barrage, so always looked like maybe the barrage was a response to the first one? Who knows.

Most of the guns I carry I carry loaded with one in chamber and the guns have zero safety that needs to be disengaged. Keep it in a good holster that fully covers the trigger. If you pull it out and pull the trigger it's going to fire. That's how a majority of guns are carried, especially glocks. Trigger safeties are mostly pointless. They disengage whether the trigger is pulled intentionally or accidentally.

The gun he was carrying is actually the gun with the accidental firing issue from sig but that usually involves the gun being dropped or set down hard or something like that. Otherwise not a cheap gun, guessing he was an enthusiast.

Definitely an expensive handgun and wild that that was actually what he had on him.

The Feds are rounding up criminal aliens all over the country and none of this is happening, except in Minnesota. Why is that?

P320 is what the victim had it sounds like, which is the same model that had the accidental discharge issues (happening while holstering I believe). I have one myself and think they shoot nicer than a Glock stock.

I think the ICE agent who disarmed the victim had it accidentally discharge while walking away which resulted in the victim getting popped multiple times by his ICE coworkers.

People are protesting and filming ICE working because ICE agents continue to provide evidence that they are poorly trained for the environments they are being placed to work in and continually make poor and dangerous decisions. Regardless of who is stoking the flames.

Americans stand up to people being treated like shit, personally I appreciate that element of us. Obama and Co got rid of many dangerous illegal subhuman POS's with much less optics and public interaction. Maybe revisit their approach and go back to the drawing board a bit?

I think most Americans are on board with getting dangerous and corrupt people off the streets.

It sure seems like flames are being stoked intentionally. Police State incoming. The barrage of this stuff will continue, and they will pull strings to ensure they give themselves reasons to advance objectives such as this in the name of power and control. Pepper in stuff like these incidents, make healthcare incredibly expensive for a lot of people, potential for significant increase in layoffs or mass job obsolescence as AI tools come online rapidly, etc. We're creating an environment that will become increasingly more frustrating and difficult to live in. How many tracks have closed by you in the past decade? This is critical to our quality of life fellas!

It's good that Bovino was relieved from duty, something had to give from an optics perspective. We need a controlled burn here, not something that can get out of control and potentially result in alternative outcomes.

I think I read there's 9 counties in the USA that account for over 60% of the violence with ICE/CBP. All are Democrat run sanctuary counties.

70% of the illegals apprehended have a criminal history. Maybe, just maybe, those with criminal history feel more comfortable in a sanctuary city/county/state. No, that couldn't be it could it?

Before you take this as a personal attack, this isn't intended to be a gotcha. I was curious on the numbers and am sharing.
