The feds wont touch that little weed unless there is more tied to it, ie...guns, bodies, or a DTO (drug trafficking organization)....Depending on his criminal history he can cop a deferred adjudication plea and get probation for 5-10 years. If he stays clean it wont count as a conviction. But, if they want to make an example, Stand By, he may get the max that Ohio law allows. Which is?????

I wonder who told/leaked it to RacerX and why?

Seriously doubt RacerX is scouring the police blotters for every jurisdiction nationwide daily

Freestyle motocross pioneer Clifford Adoptante was arrested on Friday afternoon in Ohio, charged with possession of marijuana, a second-degree felony, and possession of of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. According to Ohio law, criminal tools are defined as any substance, device, instrument, or article designed or specially adapted for criminal use.

Adoptante was pulled over on Interstate 70 for speeding in a Penske rental truck with Indiana registration just after noon on Friday, when a drug dog uncovered 47 pounds of marijuana valued at more than $132,000. Adoptante was incarcerated at the Preble County Jail, where he was released on a bond of $2,545. If convicted, he faces up to nine years in prison and up to $17,500 in fines.

Sometimes good people make bad choices. I hope Adoptante gets through this and learns from it.

So, Im at Elsinore today and who pulls up next to me? Clifford Adoptante!. Didn't recognize him, but looks exactly the same as the pic in the news, as well as the jersey with his name on the back. Also, had the freestyle yamaha , cutouts and all. I didnt have the balls to ask him if it was him, but I swear I looked at him for around ten minutes and did the, " Are you...no. Wait, I thought you ere in jail...no" in my head! Was asking what tracks were open tomorrow. Must want to get alot of riding in before checking into the pokey.

Ok ... well let's see since i am a longtime very good friend of Clifford & his family... I know him thru and thru ... so let me shed some light

#1) yes that was him riding yesterday - you act as if it's a shocker - hello that's what he does genius RIDES MOTO
#2) there was NO bong or pipe in the vehicle - if you actually know Cliff you would know he doesn't smoke weed ... and the meth comment on here about his mugshot ... gimmee a break I'd like to see one good mugshot ... don't judge or spread false rumors when you don't know anything about the situation... it's called defamation of character
#3) I think it's pretty pathetic that everyone here seems to have so much to say on a subject they have no idea about ... and as far as racerx ... can you say lame ... now there's a good friend for ya right ... be a persons friend and pal and buddy then go out and tell the world about their worst moment possible ... all I have to say is KARMA ... what comes around goes around and for all you glass houses throwin stones ... your day will come too when you make a poor choice and suffer the consequences ...
#4) Clifford is a great person and a genuine soul ... his family is amazing and this is a very rough time for all involved ... it would be nice if everyone would stop the bullshit and let it rest ... but thats not today's society ... today's society feeds on others misfortune ... very very very sad!

Maybe you should re-channel some of that bitterness and look at trying to help a guy who just got busted with 47 POUNDS of an illegal substance.

Everyone who is busted has all sorts of people around them that swear what a good guy they are, how no one understands the situation, etc.

How about being honest with the jackass committing the crime and telling them that what they are doing is bullshit instead of lashing out at folks who are simply willing to point out the obvious?

Making excuses and such doesn't really help the guy.

awwww you boys are funny ... i've actually helped cliffy more than any of you will ever know!!! and a part of being a good friend to someone is standing by their side thru good and thru bad ... I never ever said what he did was right (try re-reading - i know it's difficult for most of you boys to read but give it a shot) ... I wasn't even justifying what he did ... I was saying if you are intelligent then talk about things you KNOW not things you overheard ... even a court will tell ya that's hear-say and doesn't count for anything ... listen everybody makes mistakes ... so he did a bad thing ... it's not for any of us to judge ... God is the only one he has to answer to for his mistake not an industry full of ass kissers Smile ... and you make me laugh with the bitterness comment ... again speaking about something you have no idea hahahhaa cracks me up how this whole blogging community can read a post a million different ways with a million different attitudes... it was a factual post not a bitter post ... i'm not hear to argue with ya ... just stating facts that none of you had!!!! ... have fun boys!

You can't blame Racer X for reporting the news! Sorry- that's news.
Just like for Emig.
Just like for Lechien- although that was supressed for a long time.
Just like for Ice, Ice Baby
Just like for Mike Goodwin

Magazines are not PR agencies. They write about the good things that riders do, and they write about bad things that happen too. That doesn't mean they are trying to harm Adoptante.

2 questions...

1. Does he know you call him Cliffy?
2. When he stands before the judge, will it be God?...

You must have failed him pretty bad for him to have to resort to having to haul that amount of weed.....

Geez, with friends like that.....

It must be worse than it sounds for you to come on here and give us that old, tired, diatribe.

Are you telling us now that the guy DIDN'T get arrested for hauling that amount of weed? Unless you are, then I'd just cut your losses and sip a big frosty glass of shut-the-hell-up before you embarrass yourself even further.

He won't have to answer to God for this, this isn't really a religious issue at all. He'll have to answer to the courts and also to public opinion. That's reality, fella.
