Lets GO!

I was shaking my head with everyone talking how Sexton or Webb were the favorites. Tomac has always been the fastest of the three. Tomac should have been at the top of the list as a title favorite.

I think we all thought he was just getting too old and it may have been that he never really got comfortable with the 23-25 Yamaha.

He smoked them.  He didn’t even look tired afterwards.

Tomac doesn’t say much but JB questioning him on the bike and he basically said his bike hasn’t been that good in a long time. I believe it, he hasn’t looked that good on the Yamaha since the old chassis. Stoked for him, I hope he brings it all year.

Wasn’t Tomac the one who switched to Yamaha and won a title his first year on the brand that hadn’t won in a while?

Yeah the new chassis was a downgrade for him.

I made a reddit post that Eli was the most slept on in the Moto media circus going into A1. He has always been faster than Webb except when he does his weirdo 7th place races. Sexton on his good days is not really beatable but Eli can be right on his tail and pressure him into mistakes. Sexton will always make a mistake, allegedly.

His best A1 ride ever. Didn't really make a single mistake all day. Not sure how he'll do on the east coast rutty stuff, but Eli is primed for dominance during the west coast swing IMO.

Roczen was insanely good too. No one else was even close to these guys. Would be absolutely stoked to see either of these guys take the championship to be honest.

In SX? He looked unreal in 2023, A1 that year was the best he ever looked on a SX track imo plus 7 wins that year and only lost the title due to a freak injury. Early 2025 he also looked as fast as ever until he broke his leg.

Outdoors I'd agree that he never really looked like his 2022 version, Tomac also said openly that he struggled with the bike outdoors in 2025, gonna be really exciting to see what he can do on orange this summer.

Anyways, whoever at Yamaha decided to not re-sign Tomac was out of their mind. I get it.. they expected him to be retired already and likely had other plans, but what the fuck.. Good for KTM and Eli that everything worked out like that, so fucking cool to still see him at Kenny at the top. What an era!

Definitely his cleanest A1 ride, you're 100% right on that. Still can't get over 2023 A1, how he crashed out of the lead halfway through the main, dropped back to like 8th, put in a charge, passed everyone like they were standing still to still win the race. That was so epic.

Not true. He looked great in 2023 on the newer Yamaha chassis up until he did his achilles and ended his championship run. 2023 A1 might've been the best version of Tomac we've seen.

ET said he never got the 23+ bike dialed in for outdoors. Then he didn’t have his suspension guy anymore. He sure looked good on the 22 bike outdoors. Betting KTM has the technicians and data to get ET’s bike setup for about any condition this season. He sure looks happy on that team!!!!

Yeah you're right, 2023 was definitely more of a "beast mode" effort after his fall. But his performance today was something I'm sure he'd be more than happy to repeat all year.

Long time Tomac superfan here..

I was reeeeeeally unsure about this move to KTM, if he got 7th today I wouldn’t have batted an eyelid.

Fucking stoked to see how well he did, what a way to start the day!

Hasn’t he been hurt in 50% of the 450 sx series he has raced?

If they aren't there from the start...no asterisk. If you are 3rd in points with 3 rounds to go, the 2nd place rider in the title crashes out from another rider using his head as a speed bump. You now assume 2nd place in the title, then at the penultimate round the reigning, defending champ and current points leader is leading the main at his home track, can possible wrap up the title that night, and fate tears his achilles. He's out and you win the race to leap into 1st in points. THAT IS A FKN ASTERISK.

Seems like switching teams has given Eli a little juice every time hes made a move.

The two old men with a total of 5 kids between them completely waxed the field.  Amazing.

Tomac basically said his Yamahas didn't turn like his KTM and he hasn't had this type of front end bite in a long time.  In a nutshell, Blue Pigs don't turn well.
