An inevitable tragedy.  And there will likely be more. Hi-temp political rhetoric and posturing from both sides carrying most of the blame.

Emboldened protester meets armed officer with a chip on. She should have complied and certainly shouldn't have hit the gas pedal, he shouldn't have put himself in front of her car (against policy and standards) daring her to. Or shot like he did. Both carry responsibility.

She went there with the intent to impede law enforcement, period.  She had a plan and implemented it.  She was not there to be an observer or to record anything.  Every action she took was intentional and incredibly stupid.

Let’s not forget or ignore the root of the problem. If the previous administration had not let everyone into the country ICE would not be out there removing the illegals.

Lots of people do stupid things. I did, you did. Its human nature. But death is not a appropiate penalty in most cases.

Some people really need to pull their heads out of trumps ass and stop justifying everything just because its their team who did it. Many comments in this thread are disguisting but even more so frightening...

Meh, there are a lot of shitty takes in this forum. Some of them are a direct reflection of people’s character. Not exactly scandalous pointing it out.

He, rightfully in my opinion, edited the original reply. No issues with the current one, but the original stooped down to the level of using another recent fatal act of violence in a way that soggy is above. Hence the ‘wrestle with a pig’ comment. My first post to him probably looks a bit odd now that he’s ‘fixed’ it.

Yeah and some people need to watch the video posted by the OP and pay particular attention to the segment towards the end where the Chicago Police Superintendent (of all people) was giving a statement about the consequences of impeding, threatening, or interfering with ANY LEO engaged in carrying out their job, so there’s that.

As usual, the lack of a sense of humor, and endless, repetitive spoonfed anger on here is high.

damn people, she was guilty of both.

And same with the throngs of people led to countless areas around the country in order to create havoc.

And all for groups of people here illegally, stealing more of our tax money than any of us can imagine, and don't give a flying rat's ass about you.

Endless seething isn't the best quality of life.

Something else to think about...

If she'd have been, shot, stabbed, raped and beaten to death by an illegal alien, she'd just be another name on a long list, soon to be forgotten as the news cycle merrily rolls along.

Bad decisions and irresponsible behavior from both parties that led to a tragedy.
He’s a tenured officer with plenty of training. He shouldn’t have put himself in front of her vehicle. It’s a reckless tactic that most agencies directly advise not to do.
He was as responsible as her for the outcome.
ICE had been shown over and over again recently brandishing weapons where any other LEO agency would face pretty harsh criticisms and discipline.
I have no problem with ICE’s mission but their tactics recently should concern any citizen who values their freedom and the constitution.

It wasn’t really funny Joey.
Maybe you just have a shitty sense of humour vs others that have morales and integrity.
It’s not that hard to just admit maybe it was in bad taste and move on.

There are tons of experts in the field out there now in the commentary world demonstrating counterpoints. There is no cut and dry because a little bit of nuance needs to be applied to this particular situation.

The left finally got exactly what they wanted... Someone seriously hurt or in this case, killed. Now they have a martyr to hold up and put on more fake outrage just so they can say see, ICE is bad, Trump is bad. To hear that stupid-ass mayor Frey say he wasn't hit by the vehicle, and then when video evidence shows he was hit by the SUV, state "well, it was only a minor hit" (paraphrasing) is unbelievable. I'll tell you what Frey, you go stand in front of an SUV and have someone gun the engine and hit you with it. See if you still think it's minor. It's all deflection from the big time fraud going on in Minnesota. I hate that the woman was killed. I would hate it just the same if the ICE officer was killed or hurt worse that he was. That facts are she was a follower of a known ICE antagonistic group, had been impeding ICE, put HERSELF in a dangerous situation (no one else made her do it, personal choice, egged on by the left politicians), disobeyed multiple lawful commands, and hit an ICE officer with her vehicle (whether intentional or not). Now, she paid for it with her life and left children behind as a result. The lefty politicians should be ashamed for using her as political cannon fodder to further their agenda against Trump and his administration.

As if the jokes directed after Charlie’s passing weren’t also responded to negatively. What’s up with you guys making “humor” immediately after these seriously shitty situations? The lack of empathy is astounding.

The right is already doing the same bro. Neither side is not going to take advantage of a tragedy. Don’t make it such a partisan issue. What a tribal bunch we have here.

Agree with this, peaceful protest went too far-should have exited vehicle. Didn’t and found herself in a bad situation quick. The federal agent doing his job will have this on his conscience the rest of his life. Could have been avoided. I’m sad for all involved.

Seeing a smidge of inconsistency here vs Ashley Babbitt.

Are you equating the threat of an unarmed 150lb. woman to a 4000lb. motor vehicle?

I mean, you're absolutely correct about the inconsistency deal, but I think it definitely goes both ways.

The photos and vids in that link pretty much show that he fired into the windshield after she accelerated towards him and hit him. Chances are this will be ruled as a legal use of deadly force.  As for the officer, it may be time to get him off the street. What he did in June seemed pretty reckless too.  Seems prone to  needlessly put himself in danger. Could also put fellow officers in danger.

The right is doing the same? I don't see the right holding up the ICE officer as some kind of hero for the cause... or the right protesting in the streets for ICE. Defending his right to self defense, yeah, they're doing that. Exposing the left paying protesters, yeah, doing that too. The facts are she put herself in a bad situation that she shouldn't have, and paid the ultimate price for it. Accountability / Responsibility. Spin it however you like, those are the facts.
