The Yamaha squad has been on a downfall since Vosters lost the management of the team. He beat them with fantic which is Yamaha too but still. Gifting was ahead of them in several races. Something is off in that structure and I think Tims going to feel that soon.

I’m pretty sure there was, but it was a while back.

Newer Yamaha chassis is a lot more like a Honda than the previous Yamaha. I would think the change itself is less by far for Gajser than for Herlings.

As for power on the Yamaha, could the issue be noise testing? dB changes with location, and the Yamaha has a unique airbox/exhaust setup that might be causing them grief. I don't know the testing methodology but we do know the Yamaha has a unique sound.

New 2025 noise reglementation was a major issue for Yamaha in world championship, yes.

I had an 01 F150 with the 4.6L V8. It was a bit gutless up hills. Very quiet too. Online keyboard jockeys said this plastic inlet internal to the plenum intake was choking it down. I removed that, and suddenly it sounded like I had a real V8 on my hands! Way more rumble, finally a real V8! Thing is, it didn't do any better up hills, and it didn't get better mileage. Point being, acoustic design is a real thing, one is my friends earned his masters degree studying it. Yamaha needs to look at the entire system, not just the exhaust.
