the first time he passed you for real? My kids are only 3 and 5, so I got some time. I'm amazed how fast my 5 year old is picking it up though. I'd be just fine if he never wants to race, but I don't see that happening.

He was fourteen on an RM 85L during the last race of our hare scramble season.. He had wrapped up his mini championship that morning so he moved up to 200B class and started 3 minutes behind my Senior A class. He caught me on the end of the second lap within sight of scoring and tons of family and friends............I could not have been prouder.

Same deal for me. 14 he was on a practice CR125.
Hit a gap jump and looked back at me.(knows I hate that crap)
He could not wait for the session to end and tell me about his jump pass on the old man..Smile

I think he was about 13. He: RM80. Me: RM250.

I'd pull away like crazy on the straights, hold my own in the corners, but he'd stalk me in the technical rhythm stuff. Followed me for about three laps, then blew by me, and pulled away (I was already gassed from sprinting to stay ahead of him). It was clear that he knew exactly where he was gonna do it.

My boys are 3 (next month) and 5 as well. However if I put my almost 3 year old on his JR50 today I pretty sure he could kick my ass. I'm tempted to not let him ride at all. The boy is insane and doesn't seem to feel pain and knows no fear. He scares me to be honest about it.

I have an 18 month old that acts the same way. I always thought we would ride together, but if he doesn't mellow out a bit I am tempted to wait as well! I feel your pain.

i remember that my old man always cliamed he was faster than me on cross country tracks, he had given up on mx tracks when i was about 13,

well when i was 16 and able to ride the senior cross countrys i lapped him in the 1st two hour race we did together, he claimed he had a bad day, funny thing is he has had bad days ever since,

Sounds like you got your hands full. Mine just turned 3 and 5 this month. A friend of mine has a kid that sounds like yours. He jumps off the couch and lands on his head on purpose and laughs about it. I also watched him run full tilt into a picnic table and it never phased him. I think that kid could ride without a helmet.

My son is nine. I have a small mini bike track in my back yard. A couple of weeks ago we were on out riding 50's. He passed me in a corner, while laughing out loud, started pulling away ,and i could not catch the little guy. I tried for three laps. Puts a smile on my face thinking about it.

Sounds just like my youngest. He is wicked smart too. Like the doctors think he may be off the charts bright. He makes me nervous.

First race this year at the imfamous Keithsburg HS race. He never rode sand before and I hate sand but thought I could keep him in check.

he is 14 and on a Cr 125

We started first row he was 3 min behind in the last row. He caught me by the 3rd lap and revved the shit out of it (get the fk out of the the way) is the translation. He was riding really well those nasty sand whoops was just doubles and triples to him.

guess the thing that was interesting.........he laps me on the last lap of the race.

now later in the year on a good ole clay type faster course he hasn't caught me, but out of the 20 some races this year, he only hasn't caught me like 4 times........

My young fella was 15 when he started passing me on his 09RMZ250. I was on my 09 CRF450 at the time. We had a good battle yesterday, held him off for 7 or 8 laps before he breezed past like I was standing still. I'm not a big fan of him whipping past me over the table top either. Cheeky little prick.Smile

My six year old and I ride in the back yard--him on a KTM 50 and me on my CRF50. I can pretty much school him in the corners but every now and again, I hear a giggle coming up behind me. Then its WHAMMO!! The little shit tries cleaning me out laughing the whole time. After picking up my feet to let him by, he stands up going down the straight and wiggles his butt at me as if to say "you suck" Huge laughter the whole time. I can hear him over two bikes.

So it wont be long before he is whipping by me too.

When he was 19 or 20. Both of us were on identical 2009 KX450Fs. He got around me and continued to gap me until the checkers flew. It was a great day for both of us.

That was one of the most anticipated things for me with my son! But alas it never happened. When he was about 12 he was close, but he lost interest in racing or even riding. I was devastated but never said a word. He's 18 now and in university and hasn't been on a bike since then. Now hoping the grandson will want to ride! Tongue

It was 2 years ago when he was 12-1/2 and on his Crf150r. I crashed in a corner seeking to out brake him and gain some time. Spent the next day at the orthopedic Dr. Will never forget.

13 years old Is when it happened. cr85 trail riding and BAM!!!! Was really proud that day but couldn't help but think It seems like yesterday he was yelling at me for going too fast when he was on his pee wee 50. Crashing on straight aways and making a 2hr ride into a 4hr ride. I definitely put my time in and so did he. Best time of my life So far.

From what I remember, and I have CRS, it was about a year after that at Perris when he was on Team Green on a KX65. How about you Ron?

I was 14 the first time i passed my dad. I think me being on his 450 and him being on my 125 might have had an effect on that but i still remember it as the first time.

Neither one of my boys has been able to smoke dad yet. But then, neither one of them is as into riding as much as I am. I never pushed either one to ride or race. Still, we all have a blast on family rides. That's good enough for me.

My son was 12 when he started riding and I had been out of it for 18 years. Well, by the time he was 14 he was riding Supermini's and a 125. On the Supermini I could keep him in check in the woods, on a MX track he would beat me. Once he really got used to the bigger bike and the power (the 125 is a CR modded to a 134) he started handing me my ass everywhere. Now he's 18 on an 09 YZ250 and smokes my ass, and definately lets me know he thinks I'm old and slow!! It makes me proud to see how fast he's riding now, but it also makes me nervous as hell!

"DAUGHTER" My Daughter was 12 had just qualified for Loretta Lynn's, we were riding and she blew by me like I was standing still. That was the last time I rode period, until 2 weeks ago (6+ years off the bike). I knew my money was best spent on HER and not ME!
