Most I’ve seen are a 3500lb axle and an reduced weight rating of 2999 lbs to not require brakes.
But yes, it is very important to know your actual weights. Much more so with “cheap” trailers where you know corners are cut
I’ve kicked around getting a 16 footer and adding AC, etc. I’d be concerned adding shower, grey and black water tanks etc would put cost to where a used toy hauler might make more sense, that just a guess. I’ve seen some crazy nice conversions cargo trailers on face book. My guess would pull better than a bumper pull toy hauler.
I'd say a high quality enclosed trailer converted to an RV would be higher quality than 99% of toy haulers.
I agree. Problem is the time it takes to fully build it out. I easily have hundreds of hours in my 6x12 and that's with no holding tanks or toilet.
The Forrest River Work and Play's built before 2014 were toy haulers built on enclosed trailers. There nice and durable, but extremely heavy.
My buddy has Forrest River single axle toy hauler around 18ft. He uses it just like we would an enclosed trailer. I like it for what it is. If you maintain exterior sealants around windows and roof openings I think you can make them last.

I can’t believe someone hasn’t created a package Shit shave shower insert for trailers yet.
6x12. A forever ongoing project.
How do you like the ATC trailer? I'm looking for another to pull with my sprinter and am looking at these pretty hard.
Mike's tire changing stand for the win....
It has been a great trailer...quality construction. And being all aluminum they are about as light as you can get initially before build out.
Love my ATC. I have the sto350 with ac/heat. Stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Quality is great. Great options from ATC for customization, and the airline track makes reconfiguring and adding to the set up very easy.

The only thing I don’t like is that it is louder than a skeleton jerking off in a filing cabinet when it is raining. I’ll probably add some sort of sound deadening above the insulation this winter.
Where can I find those e-track bike shoes?
I think there are a couple companies making them. Bolt It On makes some good ones though. It's nice to be able to move bikes around as needed and distribute weight for longer trips.
I use motoprohq.com
I am thinking of the STO from ATC. I have a Ridgeline, and don't want to go for a full size. Family of four, two full sized bikes and two kid's bikes. Anyone know what they end up going for if you build it out a bit with AC and cabinets and fold down benches? Any experience with the sales process? Mostly just wondering if anyone has gone through the process with them before.
I had a 7x16 for quite a few years that I pulled around with my old Duramax. Bought a sprinter in '20 which I built out as a motovan/mtb van and then didn't use the trailer for two years so I sold it.
Fast forward to today, RV prices are just nuts and quality is crap. Wanting to add the trailer to be able to take on longer ride trips so I can have the van setup to camp out of easier. Also have gotten into ADV riding so will be taking a Tenere along at times.
My dilema is do I get another 7x16, or a 6x12 or 14 that maybe matches the proportions of the sprinter better. I pulled my old trailer with the van a few times and it was pretty much a slug and without tow mirrors, the narrow body of the van made it difficult to see behind the wider trailer.
Worried the 6x12 will fill up FAST with a couple of ADV bikes and gear.
That's a tough question. I do feel the 6x12 will pull much nicer behind you're Sprinter. I feel like I have plenty of room in my 6x12 for bikes and gear. I built the cabinets so everything has a place. I carry 2 bikes and all the necessities and still have room for more.
Looks good. I like what you did with the tool box.💯👍🏻
More pics of the inside.
3 bikes can be hauled with motocinch.1 extra with strap tie downs.

Pit Row
I’ve had them all. When in doubt, go bigger. I went from a 6x12 to a 7x16 and I haven’t regretted it. Between the kid’s bikes, wife’s bike, pit bikes and mine, we have 7 bikes in that trailer. I want to go bigger since I got a dually.
Having the extra space is nice for spare parts or if you’re on a trip and buy a new bike(s), you have room. If some one wants to come with, you have room. The difference in pulling 14’ vs a 16’ will be negligible. If anything, the longer the better because that longer trailer should be more stable.
If you build out a 7x16 over a 6/7x12, it will definitely be heavier. Make sure you’re within your tongue weights and payload of the Sprinter and you should be good. No tow mirrors just limits you to 6’/7’ wide. I pulled our fully built out 7x16 with 5 bikes, tools, etc. behind a 3.0L Duramax and power was never an issue.
E track or L track can be used with motocinch
I’ve had a dually since 2011 never regretted it. I went from a 7x14 to a 8.5x 18 ft trailer now.yep went bigger and no regrets.ive got pics inside this topic of the unit.
