Deegs reception in Australia?

11/26/2025 11:42am

I think the Deegs reaction in Aus will be good and most people will be cheering pretty loudly for him. I also think the crowd is going to be mainly core moto and that the reaction for Eli and Kenny is going to be bigger.

To be honest, with Ando’s history with the brothers being more recent I wouldn’t be surprised to see the crowd be more icy towards him, but I doubt there will be much negative for anyone.

Would they publish video of people flipping him off?        Actually, I think they would.

If people are flipping him off as he's walking around and checking things out,  they have some issues.

Yes, I am telling you that I don't say things or even feel things such as "I cant stand" so and so.

Maybe someone who talks for a living like a talk show host. I may dislike their commentary. But certainly not a professional racer.

NO,...I don't have feelings that strong for anyone that I don't know on a personal basis. Even in those cases, I would have sense enough to not post something like, "I cant stand" them.

Do you mean to tell me that you think a grown man should normally post something like that on the internet, as if he were 13 years old ?

Growing up in Aus in the 90s Crusty Demons was massive a lot of my friends had that thing on repeat and were a fan of all people on that tape.

I would say his reception will be very positive.

Same! - did you go to the "tour" in 2003? I remember attending the Brisbane event back then and it ended when the crowd stormed the arena after the 'seppos' started giving the audience the finger... was a weird night for sure.  I can't find any news from then though 🙁

this was as close as i could find: https://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/kiss-the-dirt-20030502-gdgp1i.html

Out of hundreds of interviews, I only ever cried once, during a 90-minute conversation with a trans woman telling me her struggles of being raised small-town Republican Catholic. Then there is Jordan

He needs to spectate only if he’s hanging with RWilly. We need him 100% at whatever round he starts in the states.

I am truly bewildered at some of the Australian Moto Fans, that have somehow garnered a false sense of self-entitlement, because two of their own have risen to the top of the pile in American moto. Just because an Australian is doing well, you don't have to adopt an attitude of "oh look at me, how awesome us Australians are" Like you are living vicariously through the Lawrences.

The South African Springbok rugby team smashes the Australians regularly. You don't see me on a rugby forum dissing all the Australian rugby players ?

I bet he is well received. Question is….

I wonder how Deegs reception in Australia is with that drooling psychopath, Herr Lich, in the same continent as him?

Because you don't say, post or feel certain things, nobody should?  Serious question.

...but it's okay for you to do it if it's a talk show host?  Why specifically, does a professional racer get a pass?

Billy you've made a bunch of long-winded responses criticizing people on a random internet forum about dirt bikes, defending someone you have never met, criticizing people you have never met, all whilst somehow excluding yourself from the same imaginary psychological expertise you apparently have - wtf is normal about swooping in on a forum and psycho analysing strangers on the internet. You're as cooked as any of us pal🤣

Criticizing ? I have been civil with everyone. And if a 20-second read, by your measure, is "long-winded", then I am guilty as charged.

I've only given civil responses to constant engagement from yourself and others, mostly in the context of whatever specifics directed to me.

I merely have a different perspective than you do. I am not defending Deegan or defending anyone for that matter. I don't need to know Deegan or know you to say anything I've said here.

Happy Thanksgiving  !

In my opinion, that is a much, much different scenario than someone posting that they "can't stand" someone.

The point is that it seems rather extreme and overly invested and guilty of just as much "bad form" from the commentor as the 19 year old that they are describing. You could also see this as only something another high-school aged person would say. Hopefully that is the case.

You are likely plenty smart enough to easily understand this.

Ah, but you’re rather invested in an argument with strangers, and defending a teenager you don’t know. You get ‘em, sport.

I've simply responded to different people that have lined up to send me remarks. The fact that you are a stranger to me is not relevant or in some contrast to having a difference of opinion or perspective. I have no vitriol or personal vendetta with you or anyone here.

Happy Thanksgiving !

The Gold Coast is perfect for the Deegans. You wouldn't know they were foreigners until they talked.

As Brian has said multiple times. AUS is one of the biggest Metal Mulisha followings and like what's already being mentioned, Crusty Demons was a big deal here. So i dare say his support will be huge.
just about every Australian FMX rider is also sponsored by Deegan haha

I reckon there will be some scuffles at the pub after though. 🤣

I am super curious about how the crowd will treat deegs in Australia?!

Yes, I’m an Australian in Australia, and will be attending WSX on the Gold Coast this weekend.

While the Lawrence’s play down the potential rivalry, the memory of dazzy telling Brian to take a hike post the 250 outdoor season (Hunter won)  lives on… and certainly some fans rage-baiting jett aren’t especially helping.

Also, NZ are a large immigration population in Aus, doubt the Cole Davies fans are placated by a PR orchestrated private jet flight to surgery 🤣

Maybe spicy on Saturday?

In a world full of Deegans be a Lawrence

Oh the irony, how many times have we seen Deegan fans attack other riders here, priceless

Oh boy.... have you been on any Rugby forums.? SA Rugby fans are the absolute worst when it comes to chest-beating and arrogance. They'll even turn up on chats about other teams just to shit talk about them. Seriously; when the WC comes round, have a look through some of the forums. Using Rugby as an example is probably the worst one you could've chosen, sorry..
