I ordered a large to compare to the XL formula S.  I hope it comes in before thanksgiving, MX2.0 Winnie Texas is having a free ride Black Friday.  Not that I want to ride for free, I still pay my 40 bucks to the track cash app, but all the guys will be there that day.  Will be a fun day at the track.  Would be nice to have new helmet that doesn’t smell as bad as my old Bell lol.

Is the liner in the helmet good and comfy?

Yes the liner is nice. Most goggles seem to fit. Prospects fit better than they do with the Astars helmet. The eye port is pretty big.

I find the fury goggles fit better than prospects for me

Last year chapmoto had fly formula cc helmets on closeout for $58. I regret only buying one. Very high quality helmet for the price point.

I don’t know if it’s just the mid-range helmets or the whole line, but my wife’s new Fly helmet has the softest finish I’ve ever seen. It’s not scratched through the colors, but it’s got dulled/marring anywhere it’s touched any other surface. We aren’t people who keep helmets in bags, but we take decent care of them and we treat them all the same. My Klim and 2 O’Neals are virtually unmarked, the Fly is showing a lot of wear.

I’m kinda embarrassed to say I wear an XL helmet, makes people think I’m a punkin head Lol!!!.  I only wear a 7 1/8 cowboy hat, which is probably average and should be a medium I’d guess in most helmets.  My dang cheek and jaw bones are really wide, got some Indian in. I doubt I could get a medium Bell past my ears lol.

I think every helmet I have is an XL no matter what brand.

I've been wearing Fly helmets since they come out with the F2 Carbon over 10 years ago. The Carbon S is the best premium helmet out there, IMO. The fit is perfect right out of the box. Armegas fit great, which makes sense considering 100% makes Fly goggles.

100% does not make fly goggles FYI.

I have no reason to doubt my Fly/WPS rep. Where are you getting your information from?

Well I'm a PU rep haha!  They might be made in the same factory but they are definitely not made by them.

So 2 competitors share the same factory, but they aren't made by the same people? You do realize how that sounds, right? That's like saying the Dodge Stealth and Avenger in the late 90's wasn't made by Mitsubishi even though they came out of the same factory as the 3000GT and Eclipse.

No, it’s more like how 6D and Alpinestars (and a million other brands) use the same factory to make their helmets. I wouldn’t say astars makes 6D helmets, would you?  Fly may use the same factory but 100% doesn’t own the factory. It’s really not a big deal, I was just clarifying your post in case others read that and think it’s true.

Mine came tonight. I'm freaking STOKED! Medium fits my 12 year old little girl head like a glove. I didn't get any vibes that it's a bigger fitting helmet as I'm the same size in every other brand. I can't belive how light it is. I was never a fan of the 6D liner, this liner reminds me of Arai liner which is super comfy and great quality. I want to ride so bad now, haha.

I thought I’d commented on this but guess I forgot to hit submit.  My size large came in yesterday.  It turned out to be way too small.  It’s going back and I’ll keep the XL.  I’m planning to hit the local track tomorrow and try my new helmet out.  I was due for a new helmet.  My old Bell didn’t smell all that good even after a good cleaning of foam pads etc.  The trim around the Google port had been glued back on more than once lol.  I’ll clean it up good put it back in the bag.  It’s always good to have a spare helmet or two.

This new Fly Formula is a good looking lid for sure.

Nice! Have fun at the track tomorrow. I'll be at work refreshing this thread waiting for the ride report. The way you were describing how the XL fit sounded good. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I’m not only trying out my new helmet.  I went up one spring rate in the rear on 23 Honda 250R and also installed a Pro Circuit rear linkage system.  Be interesting day at the track tomorrow.  Especially since the track owner posted today on Facebook he didn’t water today (Sunday).  He did water on Saturday but had a pump problem this morning and couldn’t water.  He doesn’t water during the week, only Friday and Saturday.   We haven’t had rain in weeks, Ultimate MX is going to be a tick on the dry side tomorrow.  But still better than all this Christmas decoration duty my wife would have me on if I hung around the house.

I don’t do real good with my new Fly Formula.  I left the tags on it, suited up ready to side and it sets way to far down and smashes goggles against my nose.  Made it hard to breathe.  Put it back in the box, going to sent the XL back too.  Probably  buy a new lightweight Bell.  I’ll get on line when I get back from the track and find me another helmet from motorcycle closeout.

They have some good deals on SM8's.  I don't know that any of the bells will be as light as the formulas or astars helmets.

I was really disappointed the Fly Formula didn’t work out.  It pushed my 100% googles down on my nose, kinda hard to breathe.  I don’t breathe all that good through my nose to start with.  It was like it was to deep in the crown for lack of better terms.  Another guy at the track said his son had the same problem with Fly helmets.

I get the two I ordered sent back, credited and look for a Bell or 6D on closeout after Christmas.  I’m in no hurry.

6D has some really good deals on the ATR 1 and 2. Good helmets, I had both. I really wanted the ATR3 but the price and wanting to try something new after 7 years ultimately drove me away.

I have been wearing the Fly Formula Carbon in size medium for the last 3 years. I have well over 400 hours in this helmet and it has performed flawlessly. Only crash tested it once but I came through without issues. I use the Oakley Airbrake goggles and have no issues with the viewport causing any discomfort, everything feels like it should.

On the first ride day I thought I wanted the thinner cheek pads so I ordered some, tried them out for a few rides, and then went back to the standard cheek pads. Just had to get used to the snug feel.

Durability is exceptional. I have not replaced any parts and I’m still using the original liner.

I’ll certainly be picking up another Fly Formula Carbon when the time comes.

Nice! Glad to hear. My cheek pads are a bit snug too but I know they'll break in.

It probably is different for every face but some goggles don’t work in my formula. Airbrakes and the big Scott’s(prospect?) push down on my nose. The 100% accuri 2 does work and really like the goggles.

Just got the Fly formula CC.   $299 at Motorcycle closeouts, regular price 550.

First fly I have owned and seems super solid,

I wear a large in Bell and Shoei,  so got a large .  At first seemed little to tight but got the thinner cheek pads and perfect.

My only complaint about the entire helmet is that it's super tight when taking it off. Going on, no problem. When it's on my head, super comfy. I'm sure it'll break in however. My 6D was a bit tight too when it was new. Why don't the cheek pads have quick release straps? What is the proper procedure for safely removing the helmet if someone has a head/neck injury and you don't want to yank it off of them?

You leave it on and let the professionals remove it.
