Not to mention that incredible ride Scott Russell had coning back from a crash at the beginning of the 1995 Daytona 200 race....with half a footpeg left on one side even.
You are living under a rock. Tomac was running KYB forks and shock on his bike when Showa is Kawasaki’s team sponsor. The rumor that Kawasaki does not try new stuff is BS.

Just cause there is "no choice" and will be awful for them with their backs against the wall doesnt it mean it wont fail.
Yes it does…
Tomac left to go to a team that he felt could work better with him to gain an advantage over his competition. John Tomac said that he felt he could better his career with Star Yamaha. To say that Kawasaki was not giving Tomac the changes he wanted is just not true. The fact that Tomac was allowed to run KYB suspension says it all.
Yet Tomac won more races and titles with Kawi 🤔
So Tomacs dad lied? Is that’s what you are saying? Do you know more of what happened during his stay at Kawi then John Tomac. If yes then let us know. Otherwise, Your single argument for saying that Team Kawi was bending over backwards is: that he was allowed to run KYB. Nothing else? I don’t know what to write that makes you understand that your statement is pretty ignorant at best.
Kinda hard to compare though, six seasons on the Kawi vs four on the Yamaha but also two big injuries and harder competition in his Yamaha years. And I don't think he ever looked as good as in 2022/2023 until his freak injury.
Yeah, and I would argue 2025 SX was up there with the fastest he's ever looked indoors. His finish results don't look impressive, but his starts were the reason for that. Lap for lap, he looked like the fastest guy on the track, and I honestly think it would've been a dogfight if he and Jett had stayed healthy.
Putting Chase on the most stable and predictable chassis will certainly help even him out. I don't for one second believe that the KX isn't capable of winning Championships. Chase riding at 97% instead of 100% pace on a stable bike, paired with him in a better head space, that's the perfect recipe.
San Diego was absolutely insane. You would have thought Jett was pissed after getting passed like that and then not being able to get Tomac back, but instead he seemed super pumped, immediately going over to Eli giving him a high five. One of my favorite moments this year. Elis speed was sick! So sad we got robbed this year with both of them going out early.
I am not saying John Tomac was lying what I am saying is that you are reading way more into what he said than he actually said. Yes he felt that Star Yamaha would do more but he never said that Kawasaki did nothing to make the bike better. Big difference.
I know, hard to argue with that. ‘22 motocross he looked unreal too. Buttttt he did get 3 straight outdoor titles doing it Kawis way and could’ve maybe had the ‘17 SX title if he had the mental maturity that he had in ‘22. People like to talk crap on Kawis way, but it has worked out with multiple titles.
I’ll believe it only when I see it.
Which will probably coincide with Jett being out with an injury if we’re being honest..
Here is a sneak photo of what was going to be Prados bike.
Pit Row
I will never understand this take. Somehow Chase was able to make it to all the races while the others were too injured to even make it to the starting line. How does anyone other than Chase deserve those titles?
Here’s to hoping the front end is more stable than the honda and he isn’t back to tucking the front every race.
If Kawi had Jett, Chase, or Eli the last 4 years no one would think the bike is bad
Chase broke Honda’s 20-year winless streak. I don’t see why he can’t break Kawi’s 5-year streak.
Things have started off significantly better with Kawasaki than they did with KTM for Chase. I still stand by what I said that this will be the best version of Chase that we see.
If I'm Kawasaki, am I happy he said that?
Kinda like saying, "I'm so happy. My new girlfriend reminds me a lot of my old girlfriend."
Kawasaki will be just fine with that statement if Chase gets the results he did on the Honda.
But people say he didn't like the Honda?
Sexton needs to win early on the Kawi. If Jett starts killing him every week, I can see it going sideways.
How do you define “ Will it work “ ?
Pretty vague but yes it will work.
Pretty sure the bike will start and he will race
If he's happy the Kawi feels similar to the Honda, I'd guess that means he didn't dislike it as much as people thought. Plus he did get results on it
Chase definitely had some setup issues with the Honda, as he has had (and will) with every bike he rides - he's extremely picky and sensitive to bike setup. However, I don't know why everyone frames his move from Honda to KTM as being due to his disdain for the bike. It was pretty clearly due to the writing on the wall at HRC that Jett was the #1 guy moving forward, and frankly, Chase is too good of a rider to be a #2 guy. He wanted to be the main focus of his team, which is completely justifiable.
