I will say just like last year and early sx rounds when the the tracks get hard pack them Hondas don't handle great and they struggle. Looks like they still have some work to do before January

Jett did wash the front end back to back outdoor rounds this summer.  Could be the bike,  yea, but even the best make mistakes.

If you are Factory Honda, complaining about using a stock motor is a bad look. If a factory motor was required, why didn't they ship them? That was their own decision.

Edit: "complaining" is the wrong word. More of a subtle excuse.

Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Its pretty standard to question the riders as to if they brought over their full works bike or just some suspension etc. Steve asked Hunter , or one of the Lawrences what they did and they answered that at $20,000 shipping cost they decided not to bring the works bike over. I don't hear anybody complaining, just stating facts.

Steve asked Mitchel Harrison a similar question and he said he just rode the bike that was provided. Weltin said he brought over his suspension.

Does anybody know if Malcolm brought over a full works bike or just suspension and goodies? Regardless, he looked very good on the bike and if I understood him right he had only been back on the bike for a week or so after taking time off so he obviously kept up on his fitness.

Nobody confirmed if the Lawrence’s competitors that beat them were on OEM engines or not did they?

It's an off season race.  Fun to watch, but likely not a sign of what's to come.  Mookie has been stupid fast plenty of times and will be in the future, but this does now mean he can run at the front in SMX.

I fully understand the cost aspect but they should negotiate that with the promotor to have the bikes shipped in a box like WSX.

Not just the Lawrence's but everyone

I can't remember a time where he's won twice in a row, let alone 4 out 6 races. He seems to have found a new level of consistency.

Let's revisit in February.  I hope you are right.  Malcolm is awesome and would love to see him up there consistently.

Haha.  I thought we had to call everything SMX since thats what all the announcers say now.  I wish it was not

Yeah, for all of the pining over "factory ECU" and general factory bikes, seems like a weird deal to run a stock (how stock though) engine for a factory rider. Unless those engines help you not push the front or crash in the whoops 😉. Why even mention it at all? Feels like really a dig at perhaps that the bros were told to run stock engines, not elected to. Either way I don't like the look.

Anywhoo...Malcom took them to the wood shed for a beating, no question about that.

A1 just got way more interesting…!

I don't think it makes any difference. We may get an A1 surprise, with a Mookie win or Barcia, or someone unexpected. But if you think Mookie is going to be in contention for the top spot in May, you're wrong.

Indeed… Claiming the bike is stock only looks good on you when you’re winning.

I wonder what goes through the minds of those people who downvoted your comment?! In years past, race teams (Yamaha in particular) used to at least try to convince us lots of their race bike parts were stock items. Its a great look for a manufacturer if they're using a stock machine.

I fully expect Jett to win the SX title in ’26. But I am open to surprise, for sure.

I am not sure everyone is getting their panties in a twist, there was no complaining just a statement of fact.

Plus not sure how it is a bad look for Honda when Jett won a few races and perhaps would of done better except had a couple of crashes, you could argue the opposite.

Live broadcast didn't catch the Lawrence crashes, here you can see the aftermath of Jett loosing the front right before the whoops around 10'15 and Hunter's crash in the whoops at 10'30, could have been really bad
