No one's out $30.  At most we're out $6 or 1/5 of the $30.  There are 4 more races remaining.

The way I see it, and how I've dealt with other streaming providers having issues, is that once I've paid to watch the race, I'll watch it wherever I can, even the free youtube or other streams.

I eventually watched the race using the link they provided similar to the post above.

I opened it on my laptop, then connected my laptop to my TV over HDMI.  The framerate wasn't great.  There may be a way to fix that.  I'll investigate for next race.

What I really want, is for them to fix their issues, then make sure the website and streaming work in the browser that comes with a Samsung Smart TV.

My guess is that either they underestimated the number of people who would be streaming it, or they simply didn't test.

In case anyone from WSX reads this, the audio was subpar.  You need to analyze your entire setup, starting with the microphones, and upgrade where necessary.

If you want to really make a statement, record and stream it in 4k next year.

Kooksey will likely have a video out tomorrow blaming Carrie Coombs for any issues that may have happened to the streaming.

An alternative angle at the math is as follows: The TUBI stream is free and the race is available on TUBI. Thirty dollars you could have kept...!

Got to love Vital.  “Grow the sport” “need better tv packages” “the announcers suck” “the track is lame” “the venue is janky” “the riders absolutely must make more salary. They risk their life out there” “safety is horrible!” “They need paid professional flaggers”

$30 to watch the race…F-that! I can watch for free. How in the hell do you expect and race organizations to fix any of the above problems if we can’t get off our wallets and spend $30 to watch a race. Guaranteed y’all spent 500+ dollars on titanium bolts for your dirt bikes that you don’t need.

I watched it live and free on tiktok ln.... to anyone complaining, maybe you should ask yourself "why am I paying to watch a 3 hr commercial"... because that's where the real problem lies...

I get what you’re saying… but those titanium bolts work as intended. And if they don’t, you’ll get a refund.

Shit happens, hopefully they take care of the issue and refund people for the service they paid for.

Yeah I said it last night. Should be able to do a chargeback. Shouldn't have to as WSX should be proactive and refund everyone. But I doubt that happens lol

Everyone that keeps chiming in saying go to Tubi, it's free, doesn't change the fact that people have already paid for this service. Tubi is an option, but throwing away $30 and getting nothing in return needs to have some kind of explanation as to what happened.

I'm assuming Tubi is pirating the video, along with TikTok, YouTube and any other free streams.

If not, then I agree with you.

But, WSX, like every business, needs to have revenue, or they won't be around for long.

They're paying venues, track builders, riders, announcers, a TV crew, promotion, etc....

This all needs to be paid for, plus a reasonable amount more, so they earn a profit for their efforts and the $risk they took.  That's fair.

So, how are they getting revenue?

* Sponsors,

* Ticket Sales to watch the events live.

* A portion of the fee for streaming.

I doubt that they'd break even without the $ from streaming.

I know how streaming works, and how to implement it.  It's not easy for a new organization to get it dialed in.

But, when they hit a snag with Recast.tv, they posted an alternative URL, and have stated that they're going to make things right financially.  What more should they do?

The fact is that the "Free" streams got their content from WSX, who spent $millions to put on the race, and create the stream.  The $30 for 5 races isn't paying just for the streaming.  It's also part of how WSX is able to pay to put on the events.

So, it's important for all of us who are able, to pay for the non-free content we consume through the official channels.

First and foremost, I was simply adding humor to the conversation - I paid my $30. For the record, TUBI is a totally normal legitimate service.  I will acknowledge that I was surprised they covered it.... Normally one of the legitimate Journalists post this information ahead of time... Life is good, enjoy some humor, enjoy WSX... Life is short...

Tubi is a streaming service. Comes stock on most smartTV’s. They’re not pirating anything. They simply broadcast beinsports or whatever it’s called. I get what you’re trying to say but you’re wrong. People got shafted out of 30 bucks. It’s pretty simple. Super weird you keep trying to act all high brow about it.

Your assumption is incorrect. BeIn Sports was announced recently as another official streaming partner of WSX. It's available via Tubi TV which is an ad supported streaming provider. So it's a completely legit way to watch.

Your post illustrates that counter to your claim, you do not understand how streaming works.

Bein sports is a legitimate video partner of wsx.

I didn't get the humor.  Everything doesn't come across in text.

Also, my post didn't need to quote yours.  I probably should've just made a new post.

It just seems there are some members here who think streaming these races should be free.  As someone who's been on the other side of piracy, I wanted to make a point, that it costs money to put on these events.

Have an awesome day!

If it's ad supported, from a legitimate provider, the stream is not "free"

How am I being High brow?

If WSX gets their crap together this week, everyone who paid $30, me included, are going to get 4 of the 5 races, so we missed out on 1, which WSX needs to compensate people for.  I'm not saying to let it slide.  I'm saying that we all paid for 5, and getting 4. We're not getting nothing for $30.

We've had trouble with other streaming services.  My comments about watching the race on a pirate stream is simply saying that that's fair, and since I paid for it, I'm watching it.  I'm not saying that whatever streaming service is providing bad service shouldn't need to issue refunds.

You’re not quite grasping the concept of the races being FREE on tubitv. The channel the races are on is streamed for FREE on Tubi’s live tv stream.  Therefore the people who paid 30 bucks to watch it are out 30 bucks for no reason…hope that makes it easier for you.

Bein sports is a legitimate video partner of wsx.

I'm not familiar with every streaming site.  I use what I use.

I do however, understand all of the underlying technology.

I also said in my second sentence that if they aren't pirating, that I agree with the post I quoted.

I got that!  That's an official channel.  Again, I clarified in my second sentence that I'm cool with that.

Peace

Recast has issued you with 357 credits to your Recast Wallet to reimburse you for Saturday night’s live event. However, if you would like to receive a $5 refund for Saturday’s Main Event, then please contact helpme@recast.tvwho can process this for you.

We are committed to bringing you the very best in Supercross in the remaining four rounds of the 2025 season. Including the Canadian GP on 15th November, featuring Eli Tomac’s debut on a KTM.  Haiden Deegan’s second outing  in SX1 at the Australian GP. The point is people are out 30 bucks. No one cares that you’re cool with it being an official channel. It’s wild you’re cool with paying 30 bucks then finding out it’s actually free then still trying to defend your 30 dollar purchase and doubling down that nobody is out 30 bucks. You and a bunch of other people are out 30 bucks.   Peace
