I was thinking the same thing...
I've seen vids of guys on freeways doing dumb shit like that...but not in congested/cities/traffic. The guy is nuts.

I see guys like this in LA all time time, I think what scares me most is them bouncing off someone else and running into me and then I am liable for killing the idiot, even though I did nothing.

How about that girl who killed all the motorcyclists last week because that idiot in the car cut her off and she had no where to go, she will have to live with that the rest of her life and she did nothing wrong. Shame.

Probably shit slow on the track.

There's a guy that goes road riding with us and insists in taking off at 200 kmh on the straight sections of the road passing 5 cars at a time and such, just risking his life, so when we get to the twisties he's so far in front that we dont catch him, so in his head he is the "winner". Real wanker and makes us all look like idiots.

Man I was in LA, no way I can ride a bike in traffic there!! There were guys lanesplitting, that is crazy IMO!! People on cell phones changing lanes on either side of you, then Hollywood, sightseers not looking where they are going. I don't have the parts....

Sorry to dissagree with all you "sensible" folk but that looked like just so much fun. I used to enjoy doing stuff like that (minus the wheelies) when I lived in LA 20 years ago and occasionally after that back here in the U.K. Only got caught once - my fault for slowing down! + I have NEVER fallen off a road bike.

I rode in LA traffic for years and never had an issue. Lane splitting is the greatest thing since sliced bread when done properly. I.E. no more than 25mph faster then traffic and not in excess of the speed limit. It is one of the things that was nice about living in CA. You do that here and the cops get really pissy.Angry

Really? She couldn't have went right or just applied her brakes and remained in her own lane?

Based on prelim reports it would appear those 4-5 deaths were about 50% the fault of unsafe passer and about 50% the fault of the girl who's brilliant evasive manuever was swerving into an oncoming pack of motorcyclists.

I use to lane split in LA. It's awesome and much safer than getting rear ended by another latte drinking idiot.

Jesus Christ.....I don't even know what to say.....that was just plain and simple crazy! You ride like that in traffic and you are riding on borrowed time. You are basically depending on the drivers ( cars ) to not lane change or something like that in the last second.

Holy crap.....i'm still in shock by this video. No "sane" person would ride like that.....hopefully when he "does" eat shit.....he doesn't hurt anyone else in the process.

One of the coolest guys at the Torrance Harley dealership was wasted while lane-splitting on his pristine Street-Glide on the ride to work. One of his hard-bags tapped a vehicle in the car-pool lane---and down he went. Witnesses report that he hung on as he was sliding off the side of the bike and almost saved it. The crash didn't kill him, it was the half-dozen cars in the #1 lane that rolled over him. I'm still sick about it......and I won't ride on the 405 ever again.
