Why don’t these top guys have clauses in their contracts along the lines of:

We pay you a HUGE salary to be in the top five.

If you’re 6th-10th we deduct 50%.

If you’re 11th+ = no pay.

Prado wouldn’t have dragged his ass then would he?

Because there is an exceedingly small amount of people who can ride a motorcycle that fast and NONE of them would agree to such a clause.

All I wanted to say is "GO PRADO".

NONE of the people criticizing you have won a World Motocross Championship, let alone 3.

Frankly baffled how people who, have nothing do with the sugar "energy" drink + Japanese manufacturer, feel so passionately about a Spanish person letting THEM down.

This is an uber-elite level athlete who wants to win so badly that he can rationally see the setup around him won't deliver the results. Nothing more, nothing less.

Looking forward to the nationals next year when it's 2 Australians and a Spaniard at the front.

I don't get the impression the backlash has anything to do with his nationality. But you are correct, I have never won a series recognized by the FIM as a world championship so I may be wrong.

Me too. I guess I can't comment on a guy trying to NOT qualify as being less than elite world championship winning behavior.

I recall Jeremy McGrath had some criticism of Prado's efforts https://www.vurbmoto.com/jeremy-mcgrath-on-jorge-prados-kawasaki-drama-he-was-trying-to-get-fired/, but he's just a regional champion. Nowhere near the caliber of Prado and not fit to have an opinion either.

McGrath is 200% kawi so you cant take anything he says on this topic serious. What is he supposed to say, bike and team isn't great? It's the same with AC.

McGrath isn't Reed, he's not opinionated and always looking for someone to hear his take.

Prado is Prado, that's a given isn't it.

But what is stupid is thinking the number one kawi ambassador would have a unbiased opinion in this matter, or even hint about Kawi team or bike being off if it was off.

With Bajaj today announcing a 50% cut to marketing/racing budgets, wonder how KTM would even have the ability to add Jorge (and the resources to support him) above and beyond their existing contracts/obligations?

Eli is part of what I am including in their "existing contracts," and the cuts were announced today.

Absolute weakest comment on the forum. You don’t need a title to share your opinion about someone or something if you aren’t aware.

Baffled that you are baffled, but commented as well

His uber elite ness should have had him continue to power that Kawasaki for the rest of the race after holeshoting and leading laps…nothing more , nothing less

2/3rds correct…

I was quoting the assistant principals office scene from the movie Uncle Buck! I did miss a bit on the doddler part though.😂

Funny that she played Carmela Soprano's mom on The Sopranos.

Yeah, a lot of the team sponsors fund the racing program. I'm not sure what percentage KTM put in, but the racing side of things is ran as a separate business to the brand itself. Which is why the team could carry on racing in 2025.

Weakest comment on here? If I can't walk imagine walking in someone else's shoes, I can't criticise. Give me a 100 lifetimes and I know I couldn't get a top 10 in an MXGP race.

No-one on here, from Don M to John the plumber, can understand what a truly elite level rider needs. The only person who I have listened to was McGrath, who is tied to Kawi and will understandably side with them.

Prado, mate, go show us how it's done.

Its cool that he can be a brand ambassador for a manufacturer he didnt race for.

How many people that rode the Kawasaki have gone on to work with them after .  ?

RV jumped to Yamaha, after 'not being able to ride' the Kawasaki.   Remember the 'crash' ?
