Technically it's only 2 from "injury." The first year he just couldn't be bothered to go.

Guessing Tomac is the highest paid wildcard, but likely Roczen highest paid overall considering he’s doing the full series.

These are actually not facts. You don’t win titles by crashing more than average.

Stew won 3 premier titles when he should have won at least 8.

But he did win them, which disproves your point. You “might” win a title by crashing more than average. You just have to be James Stewart.

If you look at his title years, he actually did not crash all that much in them. So, no…you don’t win titles by crashing more than average

I have personally watched James Stewart get a hole shot, pull a 15 second lead in 3 laps, crash and get passed by the top 5 and still win by 30 seconds on his 125 at the San Diego supercross. It was the wildest thing I have ever seen. Don’t remember if he won the title that year, but it was incredible. Doesn’t prove or disprove anything it was just awesome.

I asked a few people the over/under question today, everyone answered between 2 and 5. Nobody wanted to see him hurt, but the reality of pro racing is that crashes happen, especially in first season on a 450.

I didn't read anything about him being hurt at all in this thread until Frd first put words in mouths.

Yeah and when he has gone down they're relatively minor tip overs. I dont think of him as a crasher at all. He has a reputation as this WFO, just send it guy. But, in my opinion, its lost how good his technique is. Obviously not Lawrence or Chase good. But not everyone needs to be clones of those guys to have success. Hes also very strong and packs some muscle. His strength has saved him on some mistakes in rhythm sections that could have been bad crashes.

He’s had some big ones, don’t know if it’s his build or luck but like RC it seems like he doesn’t really get injured from them. It is amazing how some riders can go multiple seasons with no major issues while others can’t go even one of the series without being hurt

HD seems to have to unteachable, inborn trait that he doesn't break every time he crashes. Similar to RC. Not saying hes a Terminator and wont ever get hurt. But a crash that would have had Broc Hepler out for 3 months, Haiden is back on the bike and in the race. Its something I think these guys either have or dont.

I bet he’s done gymnastics in the past to work on spatial awareness and agility. The RC comparison is valid, that ability to bounce back from a crash and never stop going isn’t very common.

Pretty crazy to think that Stew had 18 in 3 years. What a nutjob

Jett did miss most his first season. I am sure if he stayed healthy he may of even had the 2nd year championship. That being said Jetts growth is steep. Deegans has been small increments

He really didn’t. He only missed a few rounds due to the covid break. He raced all the west coast SLC rounds and the first three of the year. Him missing “most of the rounds” is a Mandela effect

is there any chance Yamaha might change course and let him launch his 450 career at Anaheim?

My guess is these 2 rounds of WSX will decide that. If they go really well I would be surprised to see him race a 250 in SX. If they don't go well he will ride 250SX and spend extra time on the 450 before racing AMA SX on it.

I believe he’s only going to get 6 days worth of riding on the bike before the race, Argentina will be tough but if he still does well that will be very impressive.

He will probably receive a bailout if  not doing good.

Ever since I have been following the sport guys have made their big bike debuts at Bercy/Paris or other off season races. MX2 guys transitioning to MXGP do a handful of preseason races before the GPs start. Never once have I considered it to be an FU to their primary race series. Cooksey level logic.

Feld is absolutely loving the free hype for the USA SX series anticipation.

Its free and boosts ticket sales so why wouldn’t they?

I think it's pretty clear they are working towards this, while leaving themselves some wiggle room if prep isn't going according to plan.

When you think about the fact that Jett started riding SX for the first time in late 2019 and wasn't even meant to go pro in 2020 SX.. kinda insane that he almost won against prime Ferrandis a couple months later.

Its not like they count more in the win column but shootouts have the entire field. Those are the big ones for me. I believe it was '24 SLC, he won that shootout by 10sec. It was very impressive
