Edit: This is not me in the video...sounds like several people thought this was my video but it's not.
I hit a wild dog in Baja, but luckily it wasn't that bad. Anyone hit any deer or other animals? My Dad got taken out on asphalt like this by a dog. Worst road rash I've ever seen.
In the most kiwi think ever , I have hit a sheep and gone down on a trail ride
Greg Albertyn smacked a deer at the 1994 MXdN in Roggenburg. Great year that.
My best friend narrowly missed a dog going almost 100 MPH in a desert race in Mexico. Another reason I don't do that shiz.
Rabbits like to run alongside of you then try to dart under the motor and they get hit.

That track was sick. So fast and big.
I believe the crowd lit a fire and roasted that thing afterwards.
I hit a very unlucky squirrel one time in a moto. I was good incase you were wondering. Squirrel not so much
I T-Boned a nice piece of Beef at a hare scramble in FL a few years ago. Don’t think the property owner herded them all to a different field before the weekend. Ironically, my step mom took one of my favorite photos of me riding about 20 minutes before it happened. It’s a far away shot of me going through a field with a few cows on either side of me.
I came very close to hitting a deer once on a MX practice type track. Track was in a friends back field and there was no fencing, so we both got lucky!
Came pretty close to hitting a porcupine a few weeks back
Im glad you are okay. No I havent hit any animal. But its literaly my worst nightmare, at least when Im streetriding. Thats also the reason why I avoid riding at certain times. Hitting a deer going over 150mph its pretty safe ure dead.
Ok crazy story. Friend of a friend got hit by a deer and seriously fucked up, months off of riding. His first ride back got hit by another deer. No bullshit
I had a deer jump over my front fender one day. Same day a rattlesnake jumped up handlebar height as I rode past him. It was a lucky day
Almost hit a pretty big snapping turtle once, it was snapping at my spokes and I was fearing for my tire.
1981, Pikes Peak Hillclimb, hit a medium size dog a few miles from the start. Didn't crash but swapped back and forth for about 50 yards! Looked back and saw the pack of 39 other riders scrambling to avoid the dog tumbling down the road.
They always seem to try and bite your front tire....at least the ones in Baja do.
Landed on a deer at Ward Creek (WA). Blind uphill triple, the thing ran out and froze just like on the road.
I hit a calf, shot out from the bushes, nailed right in the side. it never broke stride and I went flying off the trail.
Hit an owl at about 60 mph on a street bike with my chest, I stayed up, it laned in my lap. as I was slowing down it kind of jumped and flew off
I hit a deer doing about 60 on a KLR650, walked away but my hand was under me while I was sliding and I lost enough flesh I could see the tendon on my knuckle.
I was cocky and thought I would always be able to see and/or react, but now I don't go any faster than 40.
I saw a guy get a long black snake wrapped around his wheel at a GNCC, that was bizarre.
I was there that day, didnt see it happen. It is still talked about amongst my friends when Ward Creek is mentioned.
Pit Row
I was following my buddy down a fast switch back and a bobcat lept off the embankment and kind of berm shotted off his leg. He never even saw it and continued on. I freaked out and missed the turn sending me down the hill through some thick ass woods.
Probably took us half an hour to get my bike out of there.
Just like that old saying. “Like a deer on a motocross track”.
Was trail riding a few years back and saw something run ahead of me and thought it was a deer, came up on two guys stopped at the top of a hill and asked if they saw the deer . They "no it was a bear " , when i asked if they were sure they said it ran right between them and they were sure . Pretty sure they went home right after that
50 yards must have felt like 50 minutes. That's a long damn swap.
A buddy of mine a Gen older than me almost hit a deer on a trail ride years and years ago. Nobody believed him and everyone was busting his ass until someone walked around the front of his bike and saw a chunk of hair on the front fender lmao
Being a off-road guy I've had a lot of close calls with horses, cattle, deer, elk, antelope but my closest was with a black bear, almost rear ended him on some fast flowing single track. Saw one of the pro's just in front of us get mixed up with some cattle and go down during Vegas to Reno this year, there's a video on IG, 100mph section.
I've hit a couple "new fences" across singletrack on BLM land, terrifying but never any damage to me and laughs for my buddy behind me.
I hit a deer once. . .
200 yards. .
Was nice
When I was a kid on my 1980 KD80 (yes KD not KX), I ran over a rattlesnake crossing a dirt road (going probably about 25 MPH).
Freaked me the fuck out, the front wheel (or it trying to coil up) kicked it up and it hit the skidplate and then out under the rear wheel. For a minute I thought it might have gotten wrapped up in the rear wheel. I hate snakes.
"1980 KD80 (yes KD not KX)".....
Have you ever listened to Winners Take Ya'll ????? 🤣
Had a possum drop out of a tree onto my crossbar and tumble down into my crotch during an XC race a few years ago.
We were both freaking out.
I went right under a Moose on a snowmobile . It darted out in front on a trail with really no time to react. We both came out relatively unscathed, somehow. Back in the days of low snowmachines.
