He got 4th overall at Red Bud 2022 in moto 2. I was team J Coop that year when a lot of folks didn't believe in him. I felt that if got a good start he could hang which has always been his mo. That year in the wet it really mattered. This year could be a different story in the dry. We need a repeat of that performance or even better he is best 250 both times out and we only need one good one out of RJ. I'm counting on two podiums out of Tomac.
With 38 out I just don’t see us winning, he was going to have to be the team leader like RV in 07. Love Jcoop but I don’t think he’ll win mx2 and I don’t have a lot of faith in RJ. Eli has been so hit and miss this year, is what it is I guess.
I think it comes down to BEL vs AUS, it’d be an upset but I hope the twins pull off something spectacular to knock Jett’s team off the top
Any team with Eli Tomac in it already has a leader.
Webster has built a reputation for being calm under fire. Whether it’s mud, deep ruts, or sketchy starts, he settles in quickly and rides his own race. That composure helps in chaotic MXON motos. Out of all our riders (other than the Lawrences), I trust him the most to keep his composure.

In moto 2, RJ should be top 3. Hunter and Renaux are about it…. Yes, there are some guys that could lay one down, like Everts. But I don’t see anyone else in there that I would automatically put ahead of RJ.
I don't see team Belgium fighting for the win this year.
Everts has not the speed to be up front, and Sacha Coenen will have to stay on two wheels...
I reckon Lucas Coenen will kick arse and get on the podium.
Think Jo has some serious 450 speed too.
Think Jett will go 1 - 1 but maybe Hunta has problems with Coenen and Jo
I don't think Japan will make it to the main races on Sunday.
Not japan just Jo individual results
Completely agree on Lucas, this kid is younger than Deegan and could go 1-1 on a 450 against the best. Jet gets bad starts I think Lucas has a very good chance of being the overall
I feel like everyone is sleeping on Germany, I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the podium
Bit like Belgium, one rider short for the overall but could podium.
Who needs porn nowadays, reading trough this build up is orgasmic
The 250 goes to de Wolf
Jet wins the open class and maybe gajser can take podium on 450.
I think it’s still anyone games Vlaanderen will be scrapped coldenhoff and de wolf could finish high
We would really need a hero ride from Spies though and based on his MXGP races this year I don't really see him breaking into the top 15th a the MXON with that many good riders. But everything is possible of course.
Love these threads, the MXON is the best race of the year.
I would be surprised if they make it to the top 5. Only Längenfelder seems a certainty for steady results. Spies is good, but not a worldclass rider and Roczen... yeah, what about him? Only raced one National, so I'm not sure if he will have the pace to race 30 mins + 2 laps (twice) at the level of the Aussies, Tomac, Febvre, Coenen, Gajser and others.
Australia, USA, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy and maybe even Spain seem stronger (in theory).
Kenny is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get. He also only rode one national in 2023 and then won the MXGP class. He's been injured obviously this year but he was sneaky good in SMX, wouldn't be surprised if he gets into the top 5th in both motos but also wouldn't be surprised if he fades back to like 10th. Anyways, even with Kennys and Simons best effort the podium range with Spies seems out of hand and will likely need other teams to have their problems. Anyways, still rooting for these bad MFers.
Pit Row
And just think, by how much, and for how many, are the track views going to be ruined by The Luongo Drongo's ridiculously High Trackside / Track lining Sponsor banners.
They should reduce their size by at least a third in height.
It's OK for we watchers on screens, but, often, a real downer for race attendees to be left with buggerall 'viewage'.
Top 3 for Germany? Not realistic with Spies as the 3rd rider of the 2025 squad.
If they don’t qualify for the A finals, he won’t be in them.
Mirtle & Coenen Brothers VS Lawrence Family
They should put Jo in mx3 so he can finish super well in the qualifying race. I’d think he could run 3-5? Where in Mxgp he puts up a 5-10? Get a lower score on the board then he’ll also be in the mx2 / mx3 moto which he could do very well.
Anything Jo picks up in Open would likely be lost by his 450 teammate in MXGP. Jo’s scores would be good enough either way. And he probably wins the B Final Sunday morning. It’s all on his teammates to put low enough scores for them to advance. They can get there, just have to perform.
I don't know.
They were tied on points with Estonia last year on Saturday. One less point and they make it straight in. And that's without Jo.
It won't be easy but last year 31 points was the cutoff for A final. If Jo finishes 5th in open ONE of his teammates would need a 25th or better. They should be able to do that. Of course if Jo has a bad Saturday like he did at Redbud they're in trouble
Don't get me wrong, I hope they do. Same for South Africa because I want McLellan to be there on Sunday 😁
I will be happy, no wait...f'ing ecstatic, if South Africa make the A mains !!
Either way it's going to be cool to see Jo on a 450
To me he is another one of those guys who should be on one sooner than later.
