I'm a big JCoop fan and even bigger RJ fan. So I was stoked that it seemed like both were on the team with Eli, one of our best ever.
But here is one of the reasons I think RJ got that 2nd 450 spot... Always Moving Forward. And doing it near the front, not going from 30th to 18th.
Anybody heard whether DBoy and JCoop did a practice session today to see if Deegs is up to the challenge happened? I kept hearing something was supposed to happen today in regards to that.
I listened to the swapmoto pod that came out today, aray said at 8 am(i’m guessing florida time) jcoop was there training, and haiden wasn’t, he said he hasn’t heard much since then, and that he hears something different every hour.
If you picked the team on who is the better representative for the country. Its Jcoop every day of the week.
If you pick it on who is more likely to win you the event. Its Deegan for sure. USA have to select him if he is available.
Jcoop is a beast and would not let USA down. But Deegan is on another level to the 250 talent and is nearly a cheat code having him.
He might not be 100%. But I think 2 weeks is enough time for him to be close enough to still be your best option.

I’ve never watched MXON, and most people I know never have. However, this year more people I know than ever are making sure to tune in because of Deegan. Everyone wants to see how he does.
What other rider attracts attention like that? Nobody. Barely anyone over here even watches MXGP. But everyone over there makes sure to watch SMX, MX, and SX over here in the states.

Wow! I’m kind of old and have quite a few friends that ride, used to ride or just like to watch moto. I don’t know a single one of them that hasn’t watched MXoN. Shit, when it’s in the middle of the night live, I get up to watch and in the morning, my wife watches it on replay.
If you haven’t watched MXoN, you are not a true moto fan, it’s simply the best event of the year, every year. It’s complex, full of drama, great racing and country pride all rolled in to one event.

Listening to the LVK pod now and Haiden still hasn’t ridden since his surgery and the head-to-head against JCoop got moved to today since Haiden didn’t show up yesterday.

This is so true. I am definitely a bigger fan of Jcoop than deegan. But I am a bigger fan of team USA (I know I am in Canada, and I cheer for them to do well, but I know im not cheering them for the win.) I honestly don't think it's that big of a difference skill wise between Deegan and Jcoop, at least not enough for me to get my panties in a bunch. Take either. I don't care, they both have their pro's and cons.
I know Deegan is a bit of a shithead, and what he did in LV was cringe worthy, but a lot of people on here are proving to be bigger shitheads and worse human beings than boy Deegan and papa Deegan put together. The only argument in here that makes any sense, and should have any bearing on what people want for team USA is the fact that he injured himself and won't be fully recovered. There is a debate on who will ride better and rise to the occasion that is based in Moto facts. Can we just stick to these types of arguments? You would think Deegan is some of your ex- wife's.

This whole thing was for more clicks and attention. He knows he's not 100% and didn't show because it would be devastating to his "brand" to have JCoop put it on him.
Most of us are Team USA, doesn't matter who you send. But also, many of us knew that he wouldn't be ready to go 100%. So preferring JCoop on the team wasn't anti Deegan, it was pro Team USA.
That's the right decision then. I said that the only argument was around Haidens condition and his injury. If he didn't show up, that is enough info. Send Coop. As I said, my issue was not with who goes, it's with the majority of people's behavior in here towards another human. I didn't know that He no showed yet when I posted the comment above, If I had, I would have changed a few factual words, but my main message would have been the same.
And to act like all anyone said was that they knew he wasn't going to show is not the case. A few people did (And I realize you are one of those people, and you have been objective and not derogatory, so I can respect that prediction and commentary).
