Chase could have won Charlotte

I think the main reason why so many people are upset about the weather cancellation is because the racing in the first motos was great! And the track was so gnarly that if Chase could have pulled off that holeshot, there’s a very good chance Jett would not have been able to pass him. Same with Eli, maybe to a slightly lesser degree.

Or Shane McElrath could have with his newfound mud skills. Lightning aside, that would have been a shitshow of a dog paddle race to watch. Entertaining? Probably, but it could just as easily made it super boring if Jett won and Sexton's bike sucked water and Eli fried a clutch.

All the top contenders except JCoop started at or near the front.  Chase and Eli could have won, but didn’t.

Chase looked good.

It's so interesting that sometimes he has looked like perfection on the orange bike and soon we will see if he can duplicate that on green.  There is a lot more to it than we know about but man, he has great style on a bike.

Wait. There was a race that Chase could have got the hole shot and won. He didn’t.

And if Chase did get the holeshot, Jett may have just run him down and beat him anyway.

“What ifs” are infinite and pointless.

I’m not sure that still applies, nowadays.

People are angry because they wanted a full day of racing and they didn't get it, so now they're lashing out like an angry toddler. Since they didn't get a second set of motos due to safety and legal reasons, they rage online that this whole thing sucks, they wish it never existed and that they never even liked it in the first place.

"They shouldn't even have SMX and everyone hates it but I'm PISSED they couldn't race due to weather. I'm still going to watch the remaining rounds of SMX tho, of course."

I think the funniest thing I'm seeing is people saying "Bring back the Monster Cup, not this crap!" as if a small SX track with no whoops, its own gimmick (Joker Lane) and half the competition for one weekend is somehow a better alternative to a 3 round series with cooler tracks and all the factory riders racing for a large paycheck, including a guaranteed $1M.

But still yet again he got beaten by Jett fair and square, how many times has that happened now? But you are 100% correct Sexton definitely looks awesome on his bike and is probably the fittest in the field, still doesn’t change the fact Jett is the best racer in the world.

Malcolm Stewart could have won Charotte but he was out with the a back injury, same same.

Should have been 3 extra outdoor Nationals!

Other than sorting out settings, hes going to kill it on the Kawi. The switch to the aluminum frame won't be anything crazy. He came up on Honda. I dont know if he's ever gone as fast as on the aluminum framed Honda. Freaky top end speed. He's looked amazing on orange though. Hes my guy. I wish he wasn't switching

Yeah, he could have won…  but needed a win in the second moto.  But needed the second moto to happen that he expected to have and was cancelled.

The perspective that he might not have gone on to attack Jett and conserve energy at the end of the first moto is a common strategy.  Remember, a second is as good as a first in the first moto…. Anyone that has raced before understands this.

My reality is he was completely soft in the first 2 laps of that first moto and let it get away.  Jett doesn’t mess around.  Everyone knew weather was coming…. He better be more aggressive next week or it’s more of the same.

All 3 were not really pushing it as hard as the could have been. I thought Chase was going to pick it up at the end till he was gifted 2nd by ET3.

32 was the one that was really pushing it from the stupid 1st turn block tumble and stuck under his bike . IMO They had placed that tuff block further in the track than they should have .

A second is only as good as a first IF you win the second moto.  It’s a gamble.

It is, but it’s legit.  I have won plenty of times going 2-1….  And can remember being 5-10 back and saying save it for the second moto.  If you’ve raced, you know this is fact.

He won't beat Jett on it, but I'm gessing he will do far better than prissy pants prado did.

No, of course. I'm a realist. Nobody will beat Jett. The odd nights Chase gets a good start he can beat Jett. He's the other guy capable of matching Jett's speed. Jett is stable and consistent at that speed though and Chase, not so much. Although Jett is more prone to mistakes indoors and beatable. Eli is more capable of taking some wins from Jett in sx than mx. Chase could be good for 3-4 sx wins this year

I thought the 450 race was kind of boring just waiting and waiting and waiting for the top 4 to click it up another gear and start charging and they never did. They were a comfortable 2-3 seconds between each other.

The best 450 was start tumble block trapped under the bikes charging through the pack from distant last place back to 11th. Think it took him 3 laps to catch the next to last racer.

I love outdoors more than SX, don’t get me wrong,  but even with 11 rounds the championships are wrapping up early. I wouldn’t mind less SX rounds and still having the 3 rounds of SMX to close out the year.

Glen Helen has plenty of space to build 3 different SMX configurations for 3 weeks in a row, while including the “big hills for big money” purse.  Teams, riders, and broadcast team save money by staying put and they get a break from travel.  There’s plenty to do in CA during the week to film side stories of the riders in the ocean, in the mountains, golfing , etc,.  If they want to finish in Vegas then 2 rounds at Glen Helen and short drive to Vegas for the finale.

One can dream.
