Red bull leaving KTM Group?

We are waaay too redneck to attract those sponsors.  Energy drinks and Only Fans are more in our wheelhouse.

Which is kinda weird considering most people who race are middle/upper middle class.

Really? If that is the case it seems they're not 'culturally' upper class. Someone can have a lot of money and still be a total bogan. Same applies for the middle class, although in the US context, it's my understanding middle class doesn't mean the same as in the rest of the world. It seems in the US you can be 'middle class' and still be pretty skint. Most of the really rich people supporting their kids in moto seems to be ex-pro riders, or owners of 'blue collar' type businesses or moto-related businesses. I've not seen any aristocrats or owners/CEOs of tech companies for example.

I now must rethink my whole life. I  unknowingly agreed with the quoted post, only to look at the name, and shockingly saw HerrLich on the post. End of days !

I guess I don’t follow what you mean by culturally upperclass. I’ve been a part of this sport for 30+ years and have been to a crazy amount of races, both motocross and harescrambles. Most of the people I’ve met are your typical middle class to upper middle class families. Business owners, teachers, nurses, welders, loggers, cops, lawyers, engineers, construction workers, etc. you know, the people who make the world go around. Obviously sometimes you’ll see some very wealthy people at the races. But very rarely will you see “poor” families.

Either way, lots of people with lots of different backgrounds definitely enjoy this sport.

Given how badly “mainstream” involvement has ruined NASCAR, F1, and soon, MotoGP, I’m just fine with moto being a blue collar sport. The type of pretentious fucks that wear Rolex watches and suits aren’t anyone I want within 10 miles of me anyway.

The best people I know are what many would call “rednecks” and/or “simple.” They don’t have a lot, but they’d still give you a meal, help, and the shirt off their backs.

Do you guys think RB is going to keep up with the amazing amount of support they provided for so many types of niche sports now that the founder of RB has passed away?
don’t think it’s going to stay the same for much longer.  But I sure hope the KTM partnership continues. KTM won’t be the same without it

The ownership of both Red Bull and KTM look fundamentally different than 25 years ago when these deals were first struck.

Lots of questions among both groups as their new management look forward.

Does Oliver Mintzlaff at Red Bull have the passion for moto that Mateschitz did?

For KTM, does Bajaj view offroad/MX in the same key way as Pierer had?

During an interview with Pit Beirer this morning at the MotoGP race, he said KTM just renewed their contract with Red Bull.

It's not unreasonable to think KTM is choosing to leave MotoGP as part of their restructuring. This would free up Red Bull to support Honda, who lost their long time sponsor Repsol a year or so ago.

Repsol Honda is no longer a thing? Damn. I used to drool over those bikes.

Castrol is now their lubricant supplier

No objection from me. I'm tired of arse wipes like Gypsy Ho banging on about growing the sport. The sport is sweet as it is. I like the way it feels like our sport and not something every Joe Citizen on the street knows about.

How would ya'll feel about our sport bringing on luxury and tech sponsors like in F1? (Rolex, Visa, LV, Richard Mille, AWS, Google, Oracle, etc)

Being innovative would help. Not much to see so far.
