Hidden in a Tallahassee article on FSU's renovated Doak Campbell Stadium is this little blurb

How awesome would it be to have a Supercross in the actual center of the training world?

New meaning to the guys sleeping in their own beds. Only people that can claim to get closer to racing than this area would provide is the Martin brothers!! Are they referring to FSU stadium (I assume its still called Doak Cambell stadium)?

This would be awesome! FSU supports moto. FSUPD has their own road race team and is active in the local motorcycle community.

Back in the day, the Florida Supermoto series had a race in Tallahassee on city property. The city of Tallahassee and FSUPD were good sponsors of those events.

As an FSU alum myself, this would be amazing. I would 100% go to this race - seeing SX at Doak would be sick.

Have always said SEC and other huge southeast football stadiums would make perfect locations for supercros. Cities are used to having big events and there's tailgating locations that would work for pits.

With the World Cup happening in North America next year, I bet we have a handful of new venues. Seattle, Foxborrough, NY, Dallas and Philly are all hosting those matches and they’re very strict on the grass and such. Also, the NFL draft is in Pittsburgh in 2026, which happened the same weekend as SX this year.

I didn’t think the World Cup started until mid June?

Same.  Haven't been to Doak since Weinke to Warwick was happening.  I date back to the Jimmy Jordan/Wally Woodham/Ron Simmons days of the late 70's.  Been meaning to go watch a game for the past 5 years since I moved back from Texas after being out there since 1994.

Did get to race an Arenacross in the Civic Center back in the mid-80's which was pretty cool since it was almost brand new at the time.

As an FSU grad, and a die hard fan of this sport, this is a dream come true for me!

In 94 we stayed in Tallahassee work on the big hhg rig was 2 hrs away. The temp was colder there than in Wi. Some nights.  Panhandle gets snow every winter .  Big temp difference between there & Tampa.  It would be cool to hv a race in Florida with it snowing though.

Feld mentioned that the group of North East races we did wouldn't all be usable in 2026 due to the World Cup. I know nothing about the world cup schedule, but I'd imagine they don't want us in the facility even months ahead as they prep the stadiums and fields for those events.

The Philadelphia portion of the 2026 World Cup will take place from June 14th to July 4th, 2026, including five group stage matches and one round of 16 match.

No it doesn’t. But FIFA is serious about their fields. They are making the Seahawks put 20 million into their stadium with FIFA adding another 10 million.

Minneapolis needs an April date

I agree! Insane blizzards and -30 temps have really fucked them the past few years by having it in early February.

I remember when they had the huge blizzard, we got an uber from our hotel which was meant to be a 20 minute drive and it turned into a 2 hour endeavor involving multiple stops to push the car out of the snow.

Mainly the field. It’s some type of modified real grass. And then seating, Jumbotrons, and fan experience stuff I guess.

And that was April 14th if it's the same one I remember.

LOL.  I can count on one hand the number of Panhandle snowfalls since 1960.  The one we had this Winter was the first one to stick for more than 6 hours.  Global warming ya know🙄

It does get cold occasionally, however.  We go below freezing a few times a year and in 1982 it got down to 6 degrees in Tallahassee.  Knocked the freeze plugs out of my Dodge Maxivan.
