Is it better to have a so so 450 team and 250 team or a strong 450 team?

So you aren't feeling the pinch of the economy?

Considering all the guys having to move up you should be happy that they might be able to find a ride. Other than fill-ins the 450 class didn't have much to offer lately

The 450 is the PREMIER class. It should have the best riders and teams, and if Motoconcepts feels they can run a strong effort in the premier class, why would you waste your time on the 250's?

The team rides Yamaha.. And it's no secret that the yzf250 isn't as good as the competition. As the saying goes "You can polish a turd but it will still be a turd".. So why not put all their effort into the 450.

I'm sure they would field a 250F team once your $ 600,000.00 check to Motoconcepts clears.

They may even give you a small sticker on the shroud...

Maybe they got tires of chasing Pro Circuit & Factory Connections bikes? The next new post will be complaining that there is not enought 450 rides out there.

So are we gonna boo Rockstar /Canadae cause they went 250 only?

Chances are they're trying to lock in Stroupe or somebody who deserves a money deal.

250F class is unaffordable to be competitive in?? Bring back the 125's. Would be a good thing with absolutely no downside.

They are going to have a strong team, and strong bikes. I got a feeling DV is being reaaaaaal modest and low key right now, but that's not a bad idea either.

Factory Yamaha's 250F effort is Team Star Racing. No need for MotoConcept or any other blue team to have a 250F rider.

so that must be why t hahn is not with rockstar/canadae. i was wondering. if i remember right dv said that it would cost another $250k to add a third rider. i think sipes is out of his ride with motoconcepts.

Not true.

The sales of valve muncher parts would drop.

Besides that it's all upside. Laughing

If it's money related, make the lites class all stock with no mods. In fact, the rules should state that you must make your numbers from black electrical tape to keep costs down. Smile Suddenly, everybody wants to be number 111

It's definitely got it's issues.

Hopefully they can get them worked out.

I think the overall thing is that it's a lot easier / cheaper to have a competitive 450F than a 250F. You'd have to spend a lot of money or get some serious Yamaha support to catch the PC and Geico bikes... Look at Tedesco, Townley or Regal scoring some good overalls without full factory backing.

And DV strategy is to concentrate on developing one good bike and put all their efforts in there. Smart move I think.

Like Matthes asked: Is PC's and Factory connection's domination good for the sport?

My guess would be that......

With the high profile management additions.......there is factory support helping both financially and with product like bikes and parts. And with this help they have also been instructed on what class they will compete in.

Why would having a 250 team be better? 450 class needs more names with good support.

All the teams should focus on the 450 class for SX. The lites class is only half seasons with short main events. Sorry Mitch.
