I don't know how Izer's post equates to an industry verses fan thing.
The message boards are no different. I agree with Izer, but what takes place here is human nature and is to be expected. The posts with the most views and pages contain the greatest amount of conflict. Conflict within a post between one or more posters feeds additional posts from the participants. The topics devoid of conflict receive little participation and fall off the board. People are motivated by anger and resentment more than contentment. Given the above and that most of the negative posts are propagated by 20-30 members (as others have pointed out), I'm not surprised at the outcome. Additionally, one person with a grudge can take on more than one handle and the ages of the posters are unknown. If some of the posts seem immature, the author could very well be less than 16 years of age.
My point is that the state of the MX message boards is to be expected. I'm with you Izer, but I also wish for world peace and a utopian society where each individual gives his best effort for the benefit of society as a whole and takes from the commons only what he truly needs.

I would say that you and Izer have the same writer but Izer used much bigger words than you did.
"he beat him" NOT "he gapped him by minutes and he'll never win again cause he's got no heart cause he's weak mentally"
Give your opinion as it is, an opinion, not a fact
in other words post exactly the opposite way that, that RMZ wanker used to post
and if making someone you've never met angry on the internet or starting a shitty rumour or belittling someone you would most likely turn to water if you ever met is entertainment for you
odds are i won't like you as a person
I agree, well put!
Izer needs to STFU on parenting the fans. The whole topic has been discussed countless times and ALWAYS during the off season, go figure.....
You are so far fucking out of line in your thinking it baffles the mind.
I think with proper grammar and good fellowship we can go places we never dreamed at Vital! I'm in! Ya'll dip your toast in your grits up in the OK?
if any one wants to be my friend send me a Shirt!

But I don't think it will ever happen completely, and there might be temptation to "click" the critics around here. I think GuyB does a great job with showing restraint, and taking out the trash when it needs to go. However, there are many calls for certain members to be banned and I don't think it's necessary.
Again, I'm just amazed that the riders give anonymous keyboard jockeys that kind of power over them. But I still think the original message was intended for the "insiders" that come here with an axe to grind.
I didn't read every piece in these 6 pages, but like everyone else, have some opinions.
1- I enjoy hearing from people inside the industry here at Vital.
2- There are idiots on every message board, Vital is no different.
3- Opinions are like a**holes...
Taking reasonable input from message boards isn't a bad thing. Letting message board input shape direction, or develope lifelong enemies is just ridiculous.
"Back in the old days" before we had all this instant access over the internet, it seems many of todays issues weren't out there. Multi million dollar contracts also have a way of changing the game a bit.
We had a 900 number to call after the races were done to get results. Today, if the live TV coverage or the on line providers don't have everything perfect the message boards light up with complaints about how shitty everything is..
We actually had to go outside of the house to meet people.. No texting, skyping, message boarding or being up on what CR22 twittered about his potential new ride..
I think GuyB is a genuinely nice guy. He has to walk a tight rope, and does a pretty fair job although a few would debate that.
The level of self restraint, and or just plain old respect in the world today is at a much different level than it use to be. Just take a look over in non-moto if you want to see some real gems..
I'm going to continue coming to Vital and other boards, have some fun, be respectful, and enjoy the sport. That's my right and no one can take that away. "well, Guyb can if I get out of line" If it's not as much fun coming here, I'll probably just stop, No one will even notice, and my life will go on with out a hitch.
For those that feel Vital, and other boards are just plain bad, go take a look at the thread named "Vital Member Down". That is the kind of thread that really says a lot about the people spending time here.
Maybe they should have done 4 years defending there country ( I did ) and they would learn that reactions to words is weak.
How bout you tell Reed to head on down to his local hospital burn ward this year in december once a week and go eat lunch with the kids and do something other than posting pics of his ass in different gear and taking out his frustrations of (not geting 10 mill/yr after a poor result season) out on us with all the drama.
Bling Bling that bitchez!
but what kinda bothered me was when the shit talk about ryan dungey was going around i learned a few things. i talked to his mom and dad...mostly his mom quite a bit and i'd like to think we became friends and it really seemed to bother Michelle.
gotta remember most of the racers today are still kids or very young adults and mom and pops don't really appreciate the bullshit crap talk about their son or daughter. saying they're slow or can't win is one thing but calling into question their "manly hood" or stupid shit like that is fucking bullshit. just as eid eluded to when shit talk was on here about Malcolm, most of you fucks don't know shit and can't ride any better but most of all this is a kid yer anonymously bagging on and that is, for lack of a better word...chickenshit.
bet yer a dick in real life ain't cha?
further more you can bling bling my ding ding fooooo....
That said, I don't think many of the folks that have responded to this thread are really the ones that the subject is addressed to. We all know the trolls and the fishermen. It's obvious when they post crap to try and push buttons.
For me as a fan, I agree with the sentiment that I don't like the hate and venom spewed out continually at certain riders---or between certain posters. Of course, I've been caught up in a few nets over the years myself...but, generally try to avoid it now. Regardless, having some measure of freedom in posting is necessary or else you might as well drop the forums all together.
As far as anonymity goes. Half the people on here you don't know and wouldn't give a crap who they were if you had their real name (me included). The anonymous industry folks don't want to unmask and they are given a generic pass on the issue...so, it really doesn't matter who anybody is in "real" life.
Of course, I've met/corresponded with numerous folks here and they can vouch for me that I'm a nobody.
