Phds bar mounts and Evo bars completely(literally) eliminated the vibration issue for me.

Maybe I'm just less sensitive to vibration than others, but I just run Pro Taper bars with Ride Engineering handlebar clamps on the stock triple clamps, and I don't notice any above average vibration.

Same here, I don't notice the vibration being too bad.

I started with the “clear” but went green and love the green.

For those of you who love this bike, Babbitts has them for $6999 SHIPPED to your door - no extra fees. (Just call and say you saw the ad on socials) For that price, I had to grab another X, as the hours are really getting up there on mine.

2025 models, BTW.

Don''t know if anyone's discussed.... I have a brand new '25- 450.  I checked the head stem bearings.... just out of curiosity, I'd heard they don't grease them.   ZERO grease from new.  I ended up basically stripping the bike.   So so many important bolts were finger tight.   Swing arm bearings, dry.   Top shock bearing was RUSTY inside.   Brand new bike, why no grease? (Replaced).  Linkage, nothing had grease.

New bikes have been that way for years.  Do yourself a favor and smear some grease on the steering head bearings about every 20 hours.  If you pressure wash your bike, they will get wet.

Not only did they not grease anything, but it looks like they forgot to install your graphics! 😉

lol. Forgot the graphics that’s funny. But yeah definitely need to grease the bike. My best friend rides Hondas & he got one the same way. Just how it is.

Same story with my bike regarding the lack of grease. I re-torqued everything just to be sure but the shop I got mine front seemed to do a decent job on that front.

My 24 KX450 had some grease, steering head, swing arm etc.  Not a lot but some.  It was some slick as snot clear my guess high end synthetic grease.  I went back with my normal Maxima grease but what ever they used seemed to be good grease.  I’d like to have some whatever it was.

My clutch plates let go (broke) at about 45 hrs...(they were not slipping)

Got some material in oil ports I guess and starved the intake cam of oil.  Had to get a new head/cam + normal stuff.

Much cheaper to throw a set of clutches in before 40hrs fellas FYI.

Hinson complete clutch basket is the way to go. The stock basket doesn't lubricate the discs enough so it tends to faid when getting hot for me. Thats what my local kawasaki engine mechanic says anyway.  He has some mod he does to the stock basket,  drilling holes and so on but a Hinson is a better choice.

Came here to ask about the X model.  Is it big difference between the x and the standard kx? Its just mapping differences between them engine wise?

Rode some enduro last year on my kx450 -24. Was pretty ok but had to clutch it in tight rock sections for it not to stall and so on.

Got a kx250 2025 that I ride enduro with but I miss some bottom end power so I am thinking about the 450x for the woods maybe..

Yes.  Exact same engine and transmission. Suspension is more compliant than the regular KX, as well.

Who here has had stock ECU mods but also have tried the Vortex? Did you see drastic improvement from say going from the Keefer/Chavez map to a fully tuned vortex?

Things to know- I have a full pipe and silencer and airbox mods, plus stock mapping upgrades, just had a vortex on my Austrian 450 and am thinking about splurging.

Would love to hear thoughts!

Yes. Drastic difference. Got mine from Chad at XPR. Don’t ride without it.

Has anyone had their stock box remapped by twisted, XPR, Tokyo Mods?

Just letting you KX riders know that I built a small run of these airbox cover vents.  They are aluminum and have screen on them to keep out the dirt.  I can also do a prefilter/screening combo for wet conditions.  Gets a lot more air into the airbox and looks good.  Hit me up if you are interested.

Reporting back after getting a few hours on this setup, and I will say that it does help slightly. Still getting some extra vibration, but nothing that I can't live with. Certainly worth the $200 or whatever it cost, especially to get rid of the stock crappy bar mounts.

What elastomers? Go green with Evo bars if not already done.

For you taller guys out there. I just got a chance to try out Flo Motorsport Stainless Steel Pegs that I purchased. They are 5mm lower than the standard pegs. I ran them in the stock position and am quite pleased with them. I had to adjust the rear brake down just a little bit but still had plenty of adjustment. Much better grip than the stock pegs. I didn't weigh them but they aren't super light like Ti pegs. Very reasonably priced as well.

I mounted these pegs up the same time I put a Ride Engineering Bar Mount on (rear holes) and I used the 10mm offset bases rotated forward. Not a huge change but I felt very comfortable with this setup at 6'1. Just opened up the cockpit a little more for me.

Did you already have the footpegs in the lower position to begin with?  I’m 6’3”, and the stock footpegs in the lower position is good enough.  I’d be afraid of dragging my feet in ruts if they were any lower.

I run the exact same bar clamp setup as you.  If you ever get a chance, try the Pastrana MX/RM low Pro Taper bars.  They really open up the bike for me.

I'm 6'2" running stock pegs in the lower position also. I have run lower pegs in the past on other bikes, thought about it on the Kawi but with stock in the lower position I think it's good enough. I might have to try the TP low Pro Taper's though.

I have stock bar mounts in forward holes, turned forward with PT Mx race bend bars and feel great. I’m right at 5-11 to 6-0.

If you're a racer, the Ride Engineering bar clamp is a must (not the whole triple clamp, just that bar clamp).  It keeps your bars from twisting in a fall. Sucks to pick your bike up from a tipover and have your race blown because your bars are twisted.  I would call them to make sure you get the right ones.  I think you need different clamps based on which set of holes you mount them in.

I did not try the lower position first. I was going to do that but I wanted to upgrade the pegs first. I really liked the look and price of the Flo Stainless Steel pegs. They just happened to come 5mm lower. I was slightly concerned that they would drag but the bottom of the peg has less taper than the stock peg so it doesn’t hang down as far. I don’t think the bottom of the peg is much, if any, lower than the stock peg on the stock position. I’ll take the improved grip over losing a few mm.

I’m running the Luxon mounts. No twisting and rubber mounted. I’m happy with them. I’ve only used the hardest (red) elastomers so far.
