All ages of people at ride tracks Love it . The Super quick response turns the heads . I did 4 laps then adjusted suspension . A skinny blonde comes to my pit talking away etc. I said your f ing hot . She asked me for my #. Haha That’s when u know your bike is Hot. . My pv mods Really worked Great you can ride the power in soo many different ways. A gear high in the clay rough the hit & quick surge you can bunny hop stuff. It’s a blast.
In the meat of the mid it’s strong, on ovr rev still fast. See the 90,s Fox glove on the seat ? I hv a good sized hole now on outer palm . The gloves still work great . I finally got the Tm racing chain guard on, it’s for 2000-07 cr125. So I had to dremel a ditch to get the sprocket on , no biggy. Less chain drag , works Great.
I got to add the FMF pipe is soo dam good on this bike . Pc is good too but the FMF hits harder. The shorty reminds me on 98 Mx . And a mod rm125 with a FMF mod engine a 15 yr old racing 125a at the nuclear series full gate. His dad blipping the throttle while the kid is stretching his thighs off the bike at the gate.
Scanned a few others... In 92 I was just coming off of a KX80. 93 I was up to speed!

Nice Style I said it before . A little 91 Lacrocco in there. Big 125 gate this weekend sat, sun, practice fri in Xmas Mi. In the UP. Luke McNeil won last yr from iL. He won sun am day at red Bud . At LL I think he got a 3rd or 4th in a moto. I gonna try to holeshot 20 to 50 ft unless I screw up I hope to do it . It would be funny as hell. Gate should be 25-28 need a full gate . Everyone raves about the loamy sand & fun layout. Xmas theme too decorate your camp site to win prizes . Mn. & Canadian hot shot 125 riders raced it .
I gotta admit I didnt have super high expectations for that bike, mainly because it was in 3 or 4 carboard boxes when it was delivered, but what a learning experience that was for me. I own 2 steel framed YZs from the 2000s, but was just really cool to see how they pieced a bike together in the early 90s and the slight variations from each manufacturer. I thought the 1 piece aluminum subframe was pretty cool too, never seen something like that before. Was actually pretty easy to find parts for it too, if i couldnt find something on RM or Motosport, ebay had a nice used OE part available. On the turn track, sometimes I do prefer it to my YZs. From my understanding Suzuki has always and still does have something figured out about the frame and steering geometry that makes cornering effortless
One piece aluminum sub frame was surprising? How many pieces were they before?
Id recognize NCY graphics anywhere. My 95 YZ125 looked just like that.
As good as the 92 125 was the 92 250 was a monster pile of shit!! Bought both brand new in 92 and ditched my 250R ATV to get back to racing MX on bikes. That 250 was an awful setup.
For me as a racer, Yes. As a fan, no 2000's were unbeatable IMHO.
Little more 90s Throwback Thursday 😎

#7 is Larocco 1992 I was there in 91. Pic is Mon after 97 National Mike D. From Ca. Borrowed his pal John s 97 cr250 . We had a blast riding Then Mike had to catch a flight . And I had to work picking up trash barrels & throwing them on a hay wagon, we had fun. John wrote me a letter saying the guys had fun with me . That was nice. I,m still doing the 90,s crossing state lines lookin for comp . See what that Michigan mafia has this weekend.
I think every era is unique and has it positives/negatives
I was born in the 90s, so I've missed most of that part obviously. Anyhow the 80s and 90s looked like an awesome time to be in. Unique people, unique growth
00s and the switch to the RC/JS/CS era must have been one of the best things to witness great racing
From 2010 until now.. I don't know. Social media changed a lot of stuff. We can connect to any rider at any time of the day. The amount of podcasts, film material, interviews, direct insight is unreal. We can watch the best racers in the world at all continents, from practice days at facilities to live racing across the world.
Both times have their charms. Yes, sometimes I wonder what time was more fun. Or how it could have been if we stayed on two strokes. It's progression. If you keep looking back in time, you will have your back turned to the future. So I agree, I love what we have now.
Don't get me wrong, this thread hypes me up how fun those 90s were though🙃 Keep the pictures coming
Random shop shelf stuff , original 96 100% MC and whatever else you might see 😎.

Looks like our era's were very close. How many years did you ride in TX?
I wintered at Swan from 97-99.
I feel a lot of the favored era's of MX I feel are clouded by nostalgia and viewing through rose colored glasses, not that these eras aren't epic in their own right. I didn't get into riding until around 2017 or so, and didn't start watching MX until 2021-2022. Never had heard of RC, RV, or any of those guys beyond a random convo. To me now this is the best era of MX.
Looks like the first turn at Carlsbad around 88-89?
I raced there from around 85 to 95
Colourful years for sure...
Loved that Fox gear and my street legal 500...
It was the late 90s for me. 98-02 the MC, RC, TP era.
What I do like more now days is how much you get to know the riders. I remember back then if you heard ANYTHING about your favorite rider outside of a magazine lntervirew it was a big deal. Even overhearing a conversation in the pits was insane. You just didn’t get much back then with no podcasts and social media.
80s for me. Hannah, Johnny O, Glover, Ward, Bailey, Lechien, RJ, Barnett, Dymond, Kehoe, Holland…
I don't think any decade I've been able to enjoy MX has not been peak. If you had to pick one probably most folks would lean toward the period they first got involved.
So for me the peak was the 70s, not just for nostalgia. The evolution of bikes from my first race attended in 71 to the end of the decade was and remains unprecedented (although sadly a lot of cool brands fell to the wayside), and riding styles changed dramatically with the bikes. The upgrade environment was nowhere near as sophisticated but companies were all over the place and you got to build up a bike that didn't look like everyone else's. There was a ton of local racing available and many more open riding areas. The GPs were mythical on this side of the pond, and then you got a chance to see those magicians like Robert, DeCoster, Mikkola, a bunch of Czechs, in the fall. Waiting to pick up Cycle News at a shop at the end of the week was like Christmas 52 times a year. I witnessed the release of the first Honda two stroke (and sadly later the release of the last Honda two stroke). I got to see Bob Hannah beat Marty Smith at Hangtown in 1976, certainly one of the best two motos ever. I got to wrench a few nationals and a USGP. I got to watch Magoo on local tracks and the astonish people when he went big.
Bean oil . . . the smell two strokes on bean oil. I loved the smell of bean oil in the morning. It smelled . . . like victory. 😉
But every decade since has been awesome.
You can find big gates of 125 12+ class in d16 Wi. UP of Mi. We had 25 1 st turn is a rt then a few feet into a Very tight left aprox 8 ft wide. A lot of bumping from the rt to the slow tight left with a small pay loader tire on the inside . The kids hv Great bike control & a lot of fun to race with. 4 states & Canadian riders all fast . Wayy safer than 50 or55+ with all the riders bunched up & almost stopped . They hold it wo & dump the clutch on you in 1st. . To knock you off your bike in 55. The 125 kids don’t do that bs
