Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
They sponsor Triumph and Phoenix Racing as well.
I saw that commercial……….sure looked Triumph to me.
I stand corrected! The 2 stroke sounds though...
Is it race week yet??
IIRC, the two stroke sound has to do with the editing/mixing or something like that.
@avidchimp has explained it before.
Edit: Typo

Wow did not know that. So many times I've thought negatively about a commercial or movie because they had the wrong bike sounds... Makes sense though why they do that now
Why didn’t they just put him on a 2 stroke 80?
Say what you want about Progressive but they bring sponsorship dollars to the sport and offer the cheapest insurance for both our vehicles and all our motorcycles.
Yup, that's also why Furlong's XR has a 27 speed gearbox and Schwarzy's Fat Boy does a genuine Harley sound.
😏
By the way, I'm sure everyone noticed cars in all F&F movies make two stroke noises. I think it has to do with frequencies or something.
Like McQueen's Mustang in Bullitt.
A four stroke sound on my home theater system literally shakes my walls. It would be way overpowering especially in a commercial.
I agree, totally ruined the immersion for me in the movie about time traveling robot assassins.
Does that mean if you support 2 strokes then you also support the mainstream media?
If I could get Progressive insurance in Canada, I would. They are dumping money into our sport right now and that should be acknowledged.
And one with 18 speed gearbox..
Still better than the commercials about "becomimg your parents'.
I’m pretty sure in the 70s and 80’s anytime they showed a two stroke bike they made 4 stroke sounds.
And all transmissions in the movies, whether in a car, motorcycle, or Semi truck have dozens of gears. I’m surprised they don’t have airplanes shifting gears.
Google “ Funny Honda Jet takeoff”
You take that back, Dr. Rick is a treasure
A multi-cylinder engine (no matter the cylinder count) doesn't have the same rhythmic thump as a single cylinder four stroke. It's the metronomic thump that fights dialogue, music and sfx.
Pit Row
Where is the dialog when John Connor rides his XR? Or when John Rambo wheelies that poor 250 XT?
There's probably a groupthink connotation to the 2-stroke sounds, also. When movies or TV ads that are intended for a wide audience are made, the producers probably think to themselves, "what sounds like a 'dirt bike' the most?" The answer is, of course, the same sound they heard all those years ago when they were kids, and what Americans still think of: two strokes. Those annoying, buzzing, ring-dinger sounds are what say "dirt bike" to most people, even if it isn't accurate to the vehicle being portrayed.
Hey, if they have 30 shot revolvers in the majority of western movie ever made, why not an 18 speed gear box?
They also have a rep for giving you "go away" quotes for motorcycle insurance which is hilarious.
Well, so many of you want 2 strokes, maybe it's a preview?
I honestly switched to Geico 10 years ago since they were involved with sponsoring a team.
I also spread the news to others.
I did recently go to another company two years ago.
On another subject, did anyone elses house insurance go up 70% in the last couple years?
I could justify, just maybe, if American Family, State Farm or Farmers sponsored moto.
Maybe I will check out rates with Progressive now.
70% is a damn bike payment, boots, etc. in case you wondering.
The absolute worst commercial. My dad was and is still my hero, at 64 years of age I use him as the measuring stick on how I run my life. Yes, I hope one day to be as cool, loved and fun as my dad was.
In The Big Lebowski they used street bikes for dual sports, and don't get me started on Black Rain!
My homeowners insurance has gone up every year for the last 7 years. It’s now 4x what it was 7 years ago.
Cayden brother, I never ripped on progressive. I said I chose to go with Geico 10 years ago since they sponsored the sport.
Then I said I went back to one of the big 3 and my homeowners rates keep increasing.
Then I said that I may look into progressive.
So take back your “thumbs down”.
