Key RM-Z450 Features

NEW: Striking all-yellow plastics and new graphics (LOL) match sharp bodywork lines create a unified, aggressive appearance that complements the bike’s trim chassis and rider-focused ergonomics.

Delivering excellent throttle response through the entire rev range, the 449cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-valve, DOHC engine is the latest incarnation of Suzuki’s proven fuel-injected powerplant that delivers high peak horsepower with strong torque characteristics.

Thanks to Suzuki’s industry-leading design and production standards, shifting the five-speed transmission is smooth and precise, while the multi-plate, wet clutch uses a lever and cam release mechanism for a light and direct feel.

Balancing lightness with strength to achieve exceptional handling, the aluminum frame and beam-style swingarm support the fully adjustable SHOWA® Balance Free spring fork and shock that deliver remarkable damping response.

Suzuki’s MX-Tuner 2.0 is included and provides the ability to adjust the fuel injection and ignition settings though a smartphone application, while the Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC), and advanced traction management system provides the rider a performance edge.

The graphics had been unchanged since 2021.

I'd rip it

I just went down a YouTube rabbit hole of JS7 videos in 2012-2014 riding public tracks like GH when he was on Suzuki's. He looked unreal, and the bike worked very well. Made me realize the current RM-Z is not holding anyone back, and Roczen has proved that.

I love the all yellow plastics, it looks very good.  I would like some yellow fork guards too.

2012 Suzuki RMZ-450 (and the 2011) is one of the best MX bikes of all time. I still have one and seriously question if my 2024 KX 450 is actually better.

Unfortunately, I think the current chassis (18+) is not quite as good and Suzuki made the mistake of going stiffer. Honda, KTM, and Yamaha also have made this mistake.

James and the team ran the 2012 frame for several years. Alessi and the MCR team did as well.

Man, the GH video and the Comp Edge video where he clears the entire step on step off are two of my all time favorite videos

Edit: Sorry, he tripled over the step on step off and used the step off landing to double down to the take off of the double below.

At least they are so much cheaper than any other brand. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the other brands but at least it's an achievable price point. If they go full update on their bikes the price would go up to match all the other brands outrageous prices!

$9,399 for the 450.  Now if they had that with a full PC or Yoshi system on it with gold wheels I bet they’d sell a lot more

Suzuki does make a good looking bike. But, invest a little money in it.

With the RM ARMY Edition package you get a full PC system for no extra cost. Gold wheels would be sweet to come stock on these!

One of the magazine guys I knew heard I was going riding and asked me to take the mags 2012 RMZ250 to ride for the day. That bike was fun to ride! I had ridden a 2012 KX250F a buddy of mine had and it felt so slow, especially compared to the RMZ. I only had 2 complaints about that RMZ, 1: the suspension was completely stock and IT SUCKED!!! It was way too stiff up front. I was able to make some adjustments to make the forks better, but they were definitely over sprung and needed work. 2: Air filter changes.... I was already warned that the filter needed to be cleaned, which I had no problem doing, but they also warned me that the thing would be an absolute pain to fire up the first time after putting the clean filter in. They weren't joking... I couldn't tell you how long I kicked and kicked and kicked and kicked and kicked until it finally fire up. No problem after that. If I could find a clean one for a really good price, I'd grab one.

Still have my 2012 with 19 hours on it. Have quite a few mods as well. They’re great bikes!
