It would be interesting see exactly how many passes each rider has made this year. Jett has to be near or at the bottom of the list after 10 motos .
I dont think there had ever been a better starter in the 450 class. He has been 1st or 2nd off the start in 8/10 motos. And his two bad starts, weren't even bad. Just not top 3.
Dude has it figured out. Makes the boring as all hell though when the best starter is also by far the fastest rider. At least Carmichael didn't start out front every single race. Lol
The numbers are available, if nothing else go back to the telecast and note what place they were at the start Then calculate the delta relative to the finish for all the motos and add them up! I acknowledge Jett has been passed a few times (very few), so you will need to add these to the summation. Should be darn close to correct!
I'd say he passed 39 riders in nearly every moto... most of them just a few feet out of the gate.
I don't like that this is the correct answer.

Me neither Lol. You just reminded me that I haven’t been passed in the last 3 yrs. The fastest riders around are not there tho. I rode a little track today with a lot of turns . The 04 frontend sticks like glue cut to the inside on the flat with no rut . A different rt corner enter on the gas & sweep the flat corner in 3rd wo. Amazing handling makes it fun.

RJ has probably had to make more passes in his 10 450 motos so far than Jett had in his entire 450 mx career. Lol
Anyone who credits the HRC launch control for his starts is not watching the races. He doesn’t have a big lead coming into the first corner or any lead at all. He switches on faster than the others and makes the turn faster than anyone else. As long as no-one is actually in front of him he can throw it in to the turn and come out ahead of everyone else. All he needs is a clear track and he will do the rest.

Who makes the best passes? My vote goes to Hunter, man he makes some clever moves on guys and makes them stick.
The move he put on Tomac last weekend was pretty impressive.

Hunter is awesome, for so many reasons. Dude carried the Lawrence team to the heights for Jett to take over.
Today he absolutely is shutting down anybody who says he cant move thru the pack. So far from 18th to 2nd.
