Eli’s bike does not look good to me (I know nothing…). The rear end looks like a pogo stick and the bike pivots front to back a lot. The back of Jett’s bike looks numb in comparison. The fender just sits there and the tire does all the moving and the bike stays much more level on average.

Plenty of riders are hanging it out not for a win but to place as high as possible. The entire race footage isn’t just Jett and Haidan cruising. Whatever you get to see of the leaders is worth appreciating the next level skill and see how it is that they can lap most of the other riders. They are doing something different.

Tomac would gain more from riding smarter instead of harder.
I made the same observation. Even if you are really good in sand it’s hard to not constantly fish tail especially at Southwick and i have never seen someone stay straight and not have lots of moments to try and stay on the gas as the only hope.
To prove Tomac isn’t too old he has the fitness to bull dog his way around the track taking whatever line he ends up in which is usually the Southwick strategy anyway. Tomac may lose time not taking the best line but his pace is fast enough to still podium. Jett and Hunter have some kind of other plan that’s working better.
You should become his coach. A guy who’s one of the best riders in our time and won a ton of races and championships could certainly use your assistance.
Top 3 on the podium discussing their own personal issues with donkeys during the press conference was not on my bingo card today.
Same guy gets beat by less experienced riders. If what you are doing don’t working you clearly needs to try something else…

Tomac has had one of the best careers and he could have still won a lot more showing how rare it is that the select riders can go on win streaks. Being Bruce Banner playing it safe sometimes kept him in the game and not creating enemies.

I called it the minute they did the segment on him being a cowboy before moto 1. "hE's nOT A rEAl cOWbOy!!"
I mean he's not a real cowboy so what? People that dress like rappers aren't real rappers. Ive worn western boots or what people call cowboy boots for 20 years. Im not a cowboy. I don't really get why people get worked up over this stuff. Especially on a motocross forum where people are supposedly so tough. Its like middle school kids arguing.
Tomac is facing a new level of competition with first Sexton in 2022 and now Jett (and to be fair Hunter). Looking at the points standing the talk will soon be between Hunter and Eli about second place, not Eli and Jett for the title.
My point is that he is now racing guys with a high level of fitness that ride the motorcycle more efficiently than what he does.
So how is he gonna beat them by wasting more energy than them and riding even more aggressive?. He could get away with it against his old competitors but things has changed.
Look at it as MC could not get away with his talent when RC changed the game of training in the sport. Now Eli struggle to get away with being the fittest rider on track when he races someone that rides the bike better.
Ricky did it with Reedy and Stew.
