Not sure if anyone saw but in that same race a flagger let 3 cars go across the track and a quad smashed into the 2nd one. Looked like he was flying going 50+ down a straight away.

Black Water 100 ring a bell for anyone?  It was way way way worse than that.

This was at a GNCC so just as many bike people there as quad people.

They call it Howards Hole.  @AMetts would know more but I believe the past few years they had it closed off to specators and this was the first year they had let them in there for awhile.

Mud fleas are part of the race at Snowshoe. They typically scurry out of the way but sometimes a mud flea is to be treated as an obstacle as you see in the video 😂

To be honest that wasn’t as bad as I was expecting to see.

It doesn't matter, we all get lumped together.

Anyone with a motorcycle, dirt bike, quad, or UTV is pretty much considered the same category of outdoor recreation. Insurance companies, I'm sure, have us all lumped together for events using these types of vehicles.

They just didnt use to allow the morning quads to go through only the faster afternoon race classes because it was a huge bottleneck for the less skilled guys, they went through last year but not sure about this year.

Most of the people in Howards Hole aren't quad or bike people they are party people to be honest haha, they go for a party in the woods and a race happens to break out in the middle of it. Place is a ghost town for the bike race on Sunday.

Exactly, I went I 2012 with a group of people and none of them raced or rode. They met up with large groups of friends who also didn't race or ride. People just go to party. Pretty unfair to lump the quad guys into this.

Snowshoe is a really cool place and an experience for sure just to go spectate. I would rank it as the coolest gncc to go to. Ive never raced it but have raced around that area and the terrain is really cool and challenging. Ive raced a few other gnccs and none besides maybe ironman have the energy and Snowshoe still wins.

Makes sense.  I wasn't sure what the deal was, just follow GNCC enough to see a little bit of the "Free Howards Hole" stuff that goes around.

Off topic.... but I watched some highlights and boy did some of those Pros look like goons on that virgin rocky uphill the first lap, dudes need to lay off the wide open throttle if they want traction on the slick rocks.  It was hard to watch so many dudes just putting 4 strokes on the rev limiter trying to get traction.

and we wonder why insurance is so hard to find. guess what I was actually told a few years ago that these kind of videos led to higher premiums and lack of coverage.  I was talking to an underwriter who uses these as information on these races.  screws it up for all the rest.

Maybe for insurance purpose but there is a hierarchy and tard kart riders shine our shoes.

Holy shit. Completely inexcusable.

I’m never linking an IG post again, it must be a new feature because when I clicked your link it gave me your username at the bottom of my screen and when I tapped it brought me to your account.

Hmm maybe I should edit it then? I would be pretty heated if I was the rider and the car. I get accidents happen but this one could of been deadly. From watching the gncc clips the guys that a lot of people were calling quadtards are actually the bike guys lol.

If you omit the "?igsh=....." portion of the link you should hopefully be safe from that issue.

Nowhere, there was a extreme enduro race earlier this year where they originally said no spectators then ended up allowing them, probably tried to source some kind of cheaper insurance that didn't allow spectators if im guessing.

Snowshoe is owed by a multi billion dollar parent company they are smart and they know what is a liability and what makes money. You guys do know that paying a shitload for insurance is worth it to a lot of these places because they stand to make plenty of money back.
