On the way to the track I always like to stretch out my forearms on the steering wheel to help with arm pump and blast Deftones, Chevelle or Alice in Chains
My morning routine was usually waking the wife and saying: "Race course or intercourse?"
She'd roll back over and say : " Don't forget your helmet".
It's a ritual to hurt myself or break something that's at least 100$
Coffee, a banana , and an egg white, extra sharp cheddar, and green olive wrap before I leave the house.
Banana and almonds mid day ( it’s a really good combo ! ).
And if it isn’t too hot out I’ll just have whatever is for dinner, if it’s the middle of summer I might skip dinner because i don’t really feel much like eating dinner after spending all day out in the heat.

A huge vanilla soft serve after riding is truly one of the finest things in life.
Eat a big supper the night before. I don't eat breakfast, have some coffee. Ride for about 4 hours or so. Slap something on the propane tank to cook up real fast usually a burger. Have me a natural light for a pain killer and head home.
A couple cups of coffee at home while loading up, then hit up the local Jack in the Box for their ultimate breakfast sandwich and a bottle of water with electrolytes. It's a two hour ride to the track so I'm ready for one of those lovely, well cleaned oasis' of relief by the time I get there. 😩
I know this is going to sound absolutely disgusting but it is what it is....
Keep in mind this was back in 1999/2000 for what it's worth. I had a number of tracks to practice at but anytime we (my Dad and I) went to Hangtown on a Sunday for practice we would pass by an AM/PM store coming back home on Grant Line rd. This would be somewhere around 1 or 2pm in the afternoon, we would stop in and I would get one of those classic AM/PM "hamburgers" if you could call it that. I would put absolutely EVERYthing on this damn thing....Mayo, ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, jalepeno peppers, sweet relish, cheese, I would shove it into the little foil baggy thing so by the time we paid and got back to the van it was all a big mess inside this bag. My Dad and I would sit inside this non-airconditioned box van in the 100 degree heat, I would chow down on this slop of a mess with an ice cold gatorade and it was pure bliss.
That’s the last thing I want to see. At the 79/371 split to Cahuilla there was a mexican dude that sold tamales there but I called immigration on him after he sold me a dummy tamale with no filling and haven’t seen him since. Now some guy that sells roosters and chickens is there. Once I get my coop set up and get a couple I’m sending him packing too though.
Too many to list from start to finish but 95% of the time I swing thru buggy bath in San Clemente to wash the bike and van then rip down El Camino Real to Sanchos Tacos for a fish or shrimp burrito and a couple Modelo Especials.
😂
Taking the long way through the farms back to a track I first rode when I was 4. Where my Dad would lead my on my GT80 over train tracks to get to the river bottom and ride. Where I taught my kids to ride. Where I go to see friends I’ve known for 50 years. Taking the long way gives me time to remember the good times I’ve had riding and gets me excited to do it again.

Wake up and straight to the pisser. From there I start the coffee and as I wait, hit the emails so I don't feel bogged down by work at the track. One cup of joe for me and of course bring one to the wife. Little small talk and morning chill then some light stretching. Before I know it I'm taking the Browns to the Superbowl. We always win... Feeling light and fresh its off to the garage to load the steed. I'f Im feeling energetic I chose the 125smoker. More often than not its the 250f that gets the nod. Bike, gear bag, boots, and stand all loaded up and I'm almost out the door. This is when I walk back from the truck into the garage and usually scratch my nuts and think "Did I forget something? What is it?" "Oh yeah, toolbox and gas." Boom! Load those up and we are set. Say goodbye to the wife which she always says "Bye love you, BE SAFE." "Yeah, Yeah I will, love you too." Its always at this moment nervous and anxious thoughts creep in before being expelled with my belief I'm doing the right thing by following my passion to ride. Not to mention, I'll say a quick prayer and thank the Lord for the opportunity the day presents. Exit the backdoor of the house, fire up the truck and its time for a moto podcast or just some good solid tunes. Depends on my mood. Nonetheless one thing is for certain, my mind is calm and my smile is wide, just like my throttle.
lol
100%, coudn't agree more on that.
On my way to the track, I'm excited but also a bit nervous, thinking about proper riding technique. I have playlist with songs from MX videos and I need to play at least a couple of them.
On my way back, I'm calm, driving slowly, listening to chill music, drinking coffie with sugar (which I typically don't do) or cold Red Bull if it's hot outside. Any kind of fast food or snack allowed. There is no other feeling like calmness like a way back home from the track after a good day of riding.
One more thing that I do is after last riding session, I'm sending a selfie to my wife with capiton that "I'm done, I'm happy and going home soon". She claims that I look hot after riding so more chances later.
In the past I used to send text to my mom after riding so she would know that I'm safe. I had few injuries and she with my grandmoter were always stressed when I was going riding.
On the track, I'm always wearing left sock, right sock, left brace, right brace, left boot, right boot.
