You have some serious issues.
Damnit. I tried to stay away. Lol I don't really give a damn and definitely dont lose sleep over this, but i feel like this is a moto community and i can share my thoughts. Call me a pussy all ya want if it makes you feel better lol.
Once youve acquired and honed that top level skillset, it does NOT ever go away. Only the endurance and physical aspect depreciate due to the difference in training. I understand tho because they arent getting paid any longer to stay in pro level shape. In my mind that shouldnt make them eligible to sandbag against real amateurs who never could develop professional level skill and were never paid a living to try. Theres tons of vet specific races they could race in vet a or vet pro classes and if they want more competition, race regular A or pro sport classes. Instead, they want attention and to stay relevant, theyll sandbag an amateur nat here and there. Again, i respect them all because theyre following the rules, but its common sense MX sports doesnt want to recognize in fear of missing out on a story line and a few bucks.
Same applies to the crappy "sPoRtSmAn" designation. Guy gets 21st at a national or qualifies for a SX main, he has mad fking skills. They dont go away because you got older.
Vet Pro - anyone +25 (or 30, you decide) who has made a SX night show or the 40 man gate at a national.
All other vet classes - no fast 40.
Is he still a pro racer? Who is he riding for?
If I read through a lot of replies here I could conclude that ex-pros clean up every year at Loretta’s; is that what happens?

As soon as I saw this thread was 5 pages I knew what the bickering would be about before opening it.
Yes. Even in "sportsman" classes.
No, he's a rank amateur. 🙄
Change it to anyone who's earned 10 points in MX or 10 points in SX and this might be a viable solution.
There will never by a Former Pro class at Loretta's. There are simply not enough of them to fill up the gates at an Area Qualifier or Regional. The current system works. There are two Vet class right now that do no allow Pro's that have ever scored a point to race in.
Already 2 vet classes they cannot race in.....how is this hard to understand????
Oh, that? Well...
RV and Grant went 1-2 in their class at Mammoth, is everyone bitching about that too?
And since we’re on the topic of ex pros racing Loretta’s, is JLaw racing again? Ohh and did he ever refund you guys the gofundme money or did yall fund him a new Kawi SR450 race bike for Loretta’s this year since he got his practice bike back 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣✌️✌️
Really? Perhaps you could argue I shouldn't say such a thing about Reed, but surely you can't argue with this factually? His last win was in 2015, he then retired in 2020. In the interim he would often be well out of race shape and resorted to things like not moving out of the way while getting lapped by Dunge. It's simply a matter of opinion in some regards. I'd prefer top riders bowed out when they were still fast.
I don't think they funded him a new race bike - a bag of meth more likely.
My grandpa taught me a long time ago not to argue with stupid people.
It’s like wrestling with a pig - you both get covered in shit but the pig loves it.
They should just get rid of all the age classes at Loretta’s, no +25, +30, etc. Just an actual amateur race for the up and coming youth.
Also get rid of all the big bike C classes.
Pit Row
If they got rid of C class thats 8 classes alone.
You just cut MXSports money in half right there... and that certainly won't happen.
Nor should it.
Nope. They're riding the appropriate class. I love watching pro level riders, even fueled by coores light. Thats why i pay to go watch. I want these guys there but i want to see them race people with similar capabilities.
Why have C classes for big bikes and vet classes that don’t allow pro’s. Then not have any beginner classes for supermini and below?
An 85 C class would make more sense that a 450 C class.
I don’t think they’re should be any C class personally
Hope not. I raced the 40+ in 2018 and making it to Loretta's is definitely the most memorable racing experience that I have. Mike Brown won our class that year and it was super cool to have him there. I had scary crash in the second race and even lost the feeling in my legs for a few seconds. Thankfully it was nothing too serious and I was able to race the last moto also. If you have chance, you definitely should do it.
“This is an amateur event!! No former pros should be allowed to race!!!!”
“This is an amateur event!! Only certain amateurs should be allowed to race!!!!”
Buncha fuckin whiners. Just go ride dirtbikes and be happy about it.
Who gives a shit. LL has been sandbagged for years by the pro-mini dads in their Class A busses, dropping thousands on race motors for Tommy's 65 all the way up to the factory support B riders that are A riders. Shit's a joke an a great money maker for the local economy. Thats it.
i always thought to have an ex pro line up on the gate or same race is more of an excitement than it is an issue.
Yep, funny that only old Pros get shit talked for "sandbagging within the rules" but the kids who figure out how to work the rules and stay eligible for B Class while being Top 10 National Pro speed don't get any shit.
I guess the bottom line is.... you wanna go to the Ranch you better be able to keep up with the sand baggers, don't matter if you're 5 or 50.
I watched a vlog, and the guy said he's entering in the B class cause all the quick riders are in the C class
None of these riders have ever scored a SINGLE NATIONAL POINT. By the rules, not one. If you can't be competitive with this group, then you should set your sights lower than an Amateur National event.
