Such an awesome bike, yet such little coverage. How cool would it be for Eli to have been on this one. I’m curious about the Yamaha dna in it. Such a better looking front end than the YZF. 😎

That dude has had a hell of a career. Only guy in the modern era to go 1-1-1-1 in consecutive MXON motos; won GPs (or motos) on something like 5 different makes; MXON champ

Yeah, Herlings was on rails though. Coldenhoff rode good, but Herlings was too tough.

So I guess the Fantic is forbidden in US competition?

Last I heard , they have an agreement with Yamaha to not sell them in the US.  They worked together while developing the new 125 engine and on some other stuff. But the bikes are pretty much a Yamaha that has some different specs and bodywork.

I'm guessing, but if somebody wanted to, they could probable order the parts online to convert their Yamaha to a Fantic.

Somebody  should buy the Gasgas name from KTM get together with Suzuki and do it with the RMZ's. Offer an electric start, hydraulic clutch , and  make them in that sweat GG red color.

My local stark and Sherco dealer just became a fantic dealer. He has the XE 300 on the way. I can’t wait to check it out in person. The big mystery will be how much it costs, I am guessing on par with Sherco.

I think there is a real change we see Herlings on a Fantic next season.
His contract at KTM is ending and if ktm doesn't come up with a good offer in his eyes he's gone. And what could be better than to ride for a dutch team in the autumn of your career

This is what I found when I checked on them a little while back -

If you look closely to the news and have some common loom on the teams, then according to the news we might see him on a Desmo 450 in 2026. As Louis Vouters (the man behind the fantic team - owner) has been - or as I have read and understand - so Ducati have contacted Louis Vouters to take over the Ducati MXGP team. Seewer is contracted for 2026 and it could be a three bike team - Seewer, Herlings and Hoff

The 310  4t is an over bored Yamaha engine, with, of course, 90 / 95% the rest Yamaha.

What's interesting for the Trail Bike market, is their 250, and smaller 4t bikes. FanticXEF 250 TL - RH side 0

I assume those engines are Minarelli ones. And, the 'builds' of those bikes look to put them Above such bikes as KLXs and CRF-fs : between those  and full on Enduro bikes. Probably good things, as a Fun, yet (I'd say highly) competent Trail Trail Bike.

The pictures I saved of them listed them as 2012 models.

They also had a 450 and 250 4t - I think Yamaha engines? The 450:Fantic 450 4t 2012 - RH side.

The 250 and 300 2 stroke 'TZ' models, which was the designation for them at that time, used Gas Gas engines.

I've a couple of blurry pictures of one purported to have been in a US Dealership :Fantic TZ250 -300 - RH from rearward - in an American dealership .jpg?VersionId=XOkyvMZunkW

Fantic TZ250-300 in an American Dealership - RH from forward .jpg?VersionId=6RORPZ7lqx6hDyWiv

I thought I had some close up pictures of the steering head / triple clamps - the 2t (some of them), at least, had an adjustment system, for, Not, I think the Frames Steering head angle (though, there might have been also, different bearing cups available for actual head angle changes) , but a 'gimble' / pivot set up at the lower triple clamp (with, obviously, a set up at the top triple to allow it) that did the trail, through giving the fork legs a different angle to the steering head. Much like Bimota did, many years before - though, the Bimota set up was stationary, not adjustable - it was about trying to maintain trail under fork compression in their use.  I'll keep trying to find the pics I had ,they are not in my Fantic file, so, probably in one of my many engineering / frame files.

When I was contemplating making a whole new frame for my CRE500, ( I've done many 'AF' conversions, to many different frame and engine combinations - too bloody many, really) I was thinking of a Trellis to mimic Spars, as I make Trellis Ducati frames and Tubular Car Chassis - then, Fantic brought those out. Perhaps, one day I might finally do it, but, PDSing the rear end and WPing/Bremboing the front end of  the Old Beastie was enough, together with the Aluminium Drop Tank I made for it, .

Ya and it’s a lot different, and body is different too.
