American dirtbike racing is the superior series, MXGP is still a badass racing series but it can’t compete with SX and MX. Prado is finding out fast

Last years Spanish GP he crushed everyone on a similarly rutted track. This is all about bike comfort and he doesn’t have enough. Difficult tracks reward technique and bike setup and separate racers fast.

I’ve never seen him race till he came over to the US. Obviously, he’s a good rider. I do find it hilarious that people say his bike is under powered. If that’s true, then they better get rid of the guy building the motors. It’s the same basic platform as the rest of the brands with the exception of the Honda using the Uni Cam design. You can’t make me believe they can’t get relatively the same amount out of power the other brands do.

Didn't they change the KX in 2024? Maybe they did like KTM, fix it so good they fucked it.

his starts were not bad this weekend, both top 5,   but he got dropped from the top group fairly quick,

Listening to cookseys livecast from the track today, he mentioned that Prados bike sounded like it was only firing on one cylinder. If thats the case, that explains a lot.
He’s down 75% to the other guys.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Maybe he too is now butt hurt that chase will be on kawi.

This is nothing new for team Kawi. They expect nothing from their riders and many times that’s what you get.

Let the good times keep rolling.

I dunno.  Vialle is another GP champion who was supposed to come over here and dominate outdoors.  Hasn’t happened for him, either.

Vialle was not meant to dominate he was a solid rider in a weak go 250 field during his championships.

doing well?  He was definitely expected to be a championship contender not only by fans but KTM as well.  He's a 2x world champ you'd expect him to be winning motos and overalls.  He has, what, 2 wins?

Two MX wins and two SX championships. Guess which he came to the US to race?

This has been a complete disaster for Prado. He looks absolutely awful on the bike, completely bereft of confidence. I believe that he has simply taken too much on at once. It’s hard enough to go to the US and be successful, to do jump straight into the 450 class and also ride a different bike for the first time in your career just makes it all the more difficult.

He should have been on a part-time SX schedule this season, 6-8 races, properly prepare for outdoors and understand the bike. If you come into the series you had some hope of success in with 4 weeks on the bike, almost exclusively at California practice tracks that bare no correlation to race day conditions, you cannot hope for anything other than getting your arse kicked, which is what has happened.

It’s extremely disappointing and frustrating to see him riding like this, but it the result of bad decisions, over confidence and possibly naivety.

Lots of talk about 'moving to America', didn't Roczen, Lawrence's, JMB, Langston, Reed and more do the same, has there been lots of talk of their culture shock and how they didn't manage to ride at expected pace?

With the exception of Bayle, none of them went straight into the premier class.

I think some of those riders did find it tough at first in the US. I’m sure Roczen was expecting better than just one moto win in his first season outdoors, it took Hunter Lawrence a long time to get good results. There is a period of adjustment. Most of those you mentioned also made the move and stayed on the same bike they were on in Europe too. When you change so many things at once I think it makes it very difficult to pinpoint what the issues are

Guys, this isn't the bike. Chase will win races on this bike next year. His head is clearly fucked right now, it's all between the ears. He has the skills. We have all seen it with our own eyes. The US intensity is next level. He's jumping in the deep end and finding that out and eventually he'll come around. Outdoors that is. Who knows in SX.

Let's not forget Eli left Kawasaki to get success. Maybe the Kawy is not perfect for him and they will not make the changes needed?

What happened to him in the 2nd moto?

You're right about Albertyn and Tortelli.

But Bayle won Gainesville (250cc class) and Unadilla (500cc class) in 1989.

As Guillod and Paturel would be lucky to be in the top 10?

I'm sure it's a fact if you say so. But. How does that reconcile with the fact that Guillod just got an 8th on a stock bike at altitude?

Last 4 championships Vialle has gone 1-2-2-1. Yeah that's doing well. He has nothing for Deegan outdoors but frankly you could put almost any MX2 rider in his spot and chances are they're riding for second outdoors. Not sure what's wrong with him this year outdoors though because he's way slower than last year
