Another one that got away from KTM. Did Blair bring him over for the combine last year when he raced it on a KTM?
Correct. He was racing for KTM Australia, finished 2nd in MX2 championship last year.
Star stole another one from KTM, Blair goes into it during his Gypsy Tales episode.
Hopefully he races Southwick, being from Perth the sand should suit him better, even though the Southwick sand isn't quite as deep as a couple of the tracks here.
Looking forward to seeing how he goes.
Collie, Coastal and Wanneroo will have prepared him well!
us Aussies will have a solid line up for the next few years to come MXON
Davies and Townley the future for NZ's team.
Exciting times
im calling a top ten in one of the motos
They definitely need to let him race Southwick, top 5 wouldn’t be out of the question in the sand, he is really good.
I’ve found his transition interesting, I always thought Minear was the consistent one in Aus, more consistent than Kingsford but not necessarily as fast right. Star seems to have helped him found the speed, which is awesome! Would love to see someone pick up the Kingsford boys from Aus as well but this is fantastic for Minear! Hopefully he has a solid race and shows his potential.
Tough field this year for a rookie to hope in. If he top 15s that would be really impressive. I’m guessing 16-25.
You are on drugs.
And you are uninformed.
Almost becoming an anti-Star racing fan.
Why? They are turning into the New York Yankees now.
They do a great job of recruiting maybe the top corp of talent and have a huge roster besides.
This is a compliment! Obviously the bikes are great and the team culture must be great as well.
I tend to root for thw under-dogs but thisnis what makes the sport fun.
I remember the early to mid 80’s where Honda had the dream teams. I rooted for anybody but Honda to win. 😬😎
This kid is tough as nails too. I watched him high side and slam into the ground at Murray Bridge national last year and he ran back to his bike and then finished top 10. I was surprised he got up at all.
Yaa he definitely looks like he’s built sturdy lol

Hayes Edwards also posted a beautiful display of his Fly Racing gear with a 3 digit number on his jersey. Can't wait to see where his new surroundings brings him!
Managed to find the video, its at about the 10m35s mark.
I think top 10. He has been racing nationals in Australia since he was 14. He isn't your normal rookie.
Holy Shit!
Having ridden there back in 2005ish, the sandy red dirt is amazing, but also soft enough to not kill you in a crash like that.
Ive been waiting for this,
This kid is awesome and will kick arse.
Was riding MX2 in Aus and finished 2nd like mentioned.
Not sure why he is riding Lorettas etc should of been straight into the Pro 250 class.
Won last years combine event at Ironman by a mile…
Minear definitely has the potential to be top 10 straight up. Isn’t it standard form for a rookie to holeshot a moto? But in all seriousness I just hope he can get through the weekend unscathed, show his talent and put in a solid showing to build on. Awesome time to be an Aussie moto fan.
I remember Blair talking about a kid in the pipeline who he said was an absolute beast outdoors. It was on a podcast, god knows which one. He said he needed work in sx. But as far as mx, everyone was in trouble with this kid. I'm guessing by some of these posts its this kid. Blair is a hell of a talent scount so when he says things like this I dont take it lightly
Maybe so but we have heard the same thing in the past. It’s not a diss on the kid I just don’t think any rookie is top 5 a race in 2025. Drew probably has the best chance. I think you are not respecting how fast the top 10 are. Would love to be wrong. Seems like a great kid.
That's a heavy slam. He got up faster than most guys when they tip over in a corner.
I get what you're saying, but then again this sport is turning into one where the rate of attrition due to injury has to be accounted for. Guys on the injured reserve: JMart, Anstie, Davies, Bennick, Brown....It's literally over half their team and I think JMart was added just because there were already so many riders out. Thrasher has been hobbling. I don't know where they are getting the money to run a team like that, but it's nuts now days how they seem to drop like flies....especially due to sx. Look at PC Kawi the last couple of years. It's been a living nightmare for them. Masterpool probably wouldn't have even gotten his ride last year if it wasn't for the decimation of the rest of the team. Honda's 450 team had no one for a most of supercross. Bet their sponsors were thrilled. Every year it's kind of the same story, supercross cripples them and then whomever is left standing races outdoors. I think Star and PC are just trying to stay ahead of the curve, but yeah, no idea how they come up with the funds to do it.
***Edit - -Just heard Hammaker is now out for this weekend, so yet another. Kawi is down to about 2 of their 6 or so guys.
So, is he doing Thunder Valley?
Pages are loading weird so I don't know if it was mentioned in the OP.
