Probably the most excited I’ve been in a 250 race for a long time! Even if only lasted a couple laps, that was EXTREMELY fun! That’s what it’s all about.

What a legend.

Agreed. Absolutely showing for the first couple laps, and you know it was nothing but smiles under the helmet. Cheers Lance 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Hopefully someone got the shot of his salute.  This reminds me of AC222's hole shot whip he did a couple years ago at Hangtown.

That was great!   I just emailed his Dad a link to this thread.  He's gotta be proud of that!

Or when masterpool got the hole shot at RedBud and pointed to the sky. Love moments like that

Yaa that was definitely cool to see, kinda like that #188 kid on a husky that led a couple laps at the Glen Helen national back in 2017 or 18

He totally blew himself up but was worth it to lead a couple laps and show Deegs a wheel. Team mangers have to be questioning why the guys they have don’t show a little more fight

Me and my son were in the garage puttting a new fender on his Ranger and we were yelling at the tv that whole first 2 laps over this. Neighbors must have thought  we are nuts. Again.

He was a top Kawi amateur kid, and just had bad luck and injuries on big bikes seems like. Cool to see him find his old speed.

Does anyone know what happened to him in the moto? Was really cool to see him have that speed and fight early. Hopefully just a bike issue and didn't get hurt.

He must have spent all his energy in the first 3 laps. I think he dropped down to 35th after that.

Think about it, If Lance had top 5 fitness he would be a solid top 10 rider and the factory ride would come.

Yeah that’s not how that works dude. Even if you have gods fitness you can’t ride at 110% entire races without absolute disaster eventually happening. It isn’t fitness separating factory and privateer riders.

Deegan ran away with both motos today because he’s more fit that the rest of the field, but fitness isn’t what separates the factory guys from the privateers? Talk about a goofy take…

Lol, yeah man he only wins because he’s the David Goggins of Moto while being sick??! No, he wins because he’s the fastest guy on the track, his fitness comes from his ability to be as fast as anyone else while not pushing at 100%. Every rider on that track is incredibly fit the difference is their speed and how hard they have to push to maintain a winning pace aka speed.

Per your logicJett who is fresh off a bad injury and per his doctor not even fully healed yet is winning because he’s in better shape than every other rider rofl… yeah give me a break guys if you never raced before and don’t truly know what goes into it than be humble about it.

Per your logic Jlaw won a title in 08 because he was more fit than everyone else while smoking pot and drinking every night before races.

I believe he finished 37th in that moto. Don't know what happened, because he should have stayed in the top 20 I would think starting out front.

If were giving Kudos to riders up front who may not quite belong there yet, Maybe a shout out to Casey Cochran is in order. His starts have been great and he can hold off the best of them for awhile before fading. But he's coming off the broken femur and his fitness isn't there just yet

At Southwick a couple years ago Lance was the only one to come high-five the kids clinging onto the fence. He made me a fan that day

Sounds like you are a specialist da300 but forgive me for digging into you here..

Lance is 23 and he was in front of some serious talent for two whole laps. He showed great speed on a privateer bike.

I've been in this game for over 40 yrs, have 7 national Championships as a mechanic and have worked in elite teams both in SA and the USA.

I have no doubt that if Lance was on a good program with decent support he would be a top 10 rider.

Anyone know this kids background as a amateur? Look him up.....

He is fast. Somewhere they lost direction but I have no doubt, in the right hands Lance has the skill to produce factory level results.

da300, let's move on and try support the dude. How many riders can say that they led a Pro race for 2 laps? Two whole laps.....leading Deegan and the whole gang...as they say, we can work with speed!

This, there are times someone will lead a lap of two and surprise us but 99% of the time that is due to a crash that took the top guys out. This occasion top guys were up there.

Nobodies knocking Kobusch dude he’s an incredible rider anybody who has their pro license and showed up yesterday qualified or not is an extremely talented rider. For you to say fitness is what’s separating these guys is delusional at best and I just gave you 3 quick examples of why. You most certainly have not been apart of the industry nor have you ever put a leg over a bike if you thought your fitness was the reason you aren’t Jett Lawrence. Clown

Is he known to be a good starter? Go back and watch it. Absolutely ripped one from the outside.

Somehow my eyes landed on him right out the gate and I let out a 'holy shit' because I couldn't believe how perfect it was.

Exactly that. Lance was in front for two laps...it ain't easy to do that and I'm guessing there are some teams out there that can make it work.

We all saw what went down. Lance faded to 35th or whatever.

Put Lance on a good program with a good bike and you will have another top 10 rider. I have no doubt his abilities but currently he ain't anywhere near conditioned for a 35minute moto.

It is up to Lance to change that.
