I'm curious. What have you guys been seeing as far as numbers for you r vintage racing series? riders seem down and fewer opportunities at tracks.

Turn outs have been surprisingly big. We had 230+ at an AHRMA Regional Moto a few weeks back at Irish Valley. The AHRMA Nats have had smaller numbers ,but that is usually the norm. The Nationals attract fewer riders because the guys/girls doing them have to travel much further and if you're not shooting for a Title than the larger entry fees and travel costs choke down the average racer.

Unadilla Rewind just had a record number at over 1300 and I expect VMD Mid Ohio will be gigantic too. I really thought the asinine gas prices etc would slow shit down, but so far it hasn't. Really surprising to me.

Whats your area been like ??

Rewind was awesome. Great turnout! Mostly 80’s and 90’s bikes. I had 37 in +50 Int on Sat which was actually down from last yr. Think we had 42 in there last yr.

Table top jumps , floaters off the hills. 50 for unlimited classes gate fee now 10. Www.rpaoffroad.com Great flowing track , unique start.

We had this year's first Classic cup race in Finland, Heinola two weeks ago. There was 100 riders. I rode in combined evo+super evo class and 27 riders were on the gate. Little bit less in second moto due heavy rain.

Great to hear the big races hv a great turn out. For those that haven’t raced there 70-90,s bikes in a long time Denmark would b a low pressure event. Only 2 in 70,s, 5 in 80,s, and 90,s. The 125 class had 14 should b ovr 20 for the 7-9 race. +40 ,50 classes where added vet classes should hv a good turnout. Races should b ovr aprox 3.30 then open ride on the 2 tracks.

And don’t forget the additional $ 5 per person gate fee. Not sure what they are thinking. The $30 increase on the annual membership doesn’t piss me off too bad, but raising the already high entries another 5 each is going to ruffle a lot of feathers.

This weekend coming is an AHRMA National at Shady Acres in Maryland. I’m racing only 2 classes in Moto, and I pre-entered so my fees were only 90 + whatever gate fee will be charged. Not so bad

But my daughter is running both XCountry classes BOTH days and vintage moto on Saturday and Post Vintage moto on Sunday, . That’s 6 classes — with the new pricing that would be $ 420 + 40 gate almost 500 for 2 days of racing,,,
We don’t always pre enter because of changing work schedules, etc AND the fact that AHRMA does not refund fees in the event you have to cancel, which is also a terrible policy

That’s crazy for a vintage race. 7-9 at Denmark is 50 for unlimited classes. Open riding is free after the races on 2 tracks there’s a kid track too. 10 gate fee now camping I think is free. The owner wants 2-st to show up. Have a family take them to bay beach Sunday .25 for a ride ticket some tides r 2or3 tickets.

Yeah, I'm not sure what AHRMA was thinking with that $5 dollar surcharge on top of gate fee, entry fee, etc. With the high fuel costs, turnout was already going to be affected. Raising the cost of racing 20-30% is not going to help.

Those prices from the ahrma are ridiculous. Eff u ahrma. You can keep your 3 racer per class 4 lap motos and your stupid rules. When no one comes out to your events anymore you will blame high fuel costs on Putin, just like our President.

Apparently Tony Paul (former AHRMA Off road director) is planning on starting an entirely new series/sanctioning body . Sounds like a HUGE undertaking, but Tony has the knowledge, experience and connections to make it happen. All of us Vintage racers are hoping he can pull it off. Keep all of your digits crossed.

That's ACR which is a regional club in the Northeast.  Not the same as AHRMA.  Probably cheaper and certainly more rider oriented.

Just FYI, AHRMA does have a one day membership available but their fees are still out of control.  Just to ride a SINGLE class at the upcoming Barber regional here in Alabama is $140.  And they plan on running 83 (no shit) classes each day.😂. Even with combined gates, I see a lot of 2 lap motos by the end of the day...

On unadilla site it says no membership fees. The riders chasing points I think need a membership .   A lot of new 125 classes I could do 2 50 + a classes & another 125a class.  Question is does a - expert class hv a cash payout ? 1 class is up to 2009 bikes & a current yr bike. This will probably b the biggest race this yr going by riders signing up.  3rd class is cheaper too

At Unadilla, No membership fees unless your chasing ACR or AHRMA championships. Never had cash payouts so I don't believe there starting now.

As much as I love Unadilla, the memories, old bikes and competitors…..the event is a massive money grab….Expert payout cash? Ha …😂enjoy your 2$ cardboard plaque….Last time I went they were running behind on the schedule, …..shocking….. I think we did 2 laps on sunday 👍

We have a small hare scramble series as part of NETRA (New England Trail Riders Association) that we started 9 years ago.  Simple rules and just a 1 hour race on Saturday between the kids races.  We average 30-35 entrants and on the nicer courses closer to 45.  The series averages 8-10 events a year.  I've done ACR and hit a few AHRMA over the years but prefer the better bang for buck of the local HS series.

In Western NY we have an amazing event that is in it's 3rd year. It's the Zoar Valley Motocross Track. It was a pretty famous track back in the 70's and into 1981 (I think). Typical track that DeCoster and others would come to and smoke everyone. A local guy got permission to revitalize the track and hold an event, and he has been doing a FANTASTIC job with it. The year-cut-off is 20 year old bikes and older. So this year it's 2005 and older bikes. As far as vintage/vet tracks go, this one is a great one. It's 100% natural terrain, with lots of elevation changes and no triples or doubles of any kind. I'm not sure how many riders were there last year, as I was only there on Saturday for practice, but it looked like an easy 500+ from what I saw.

I plan to make it this year. Ed A. has done an amazing thing here! They held a 500 national in 73 and i believe an inter-am race as well.https://www.facebook.com/groups/579378813583472
